A Comparative Analysis Of the Use of Renewable Energy Sources in the Czech Republic and in the Republic of Austria in the period of 2004 – 2015
Mazurová, Jana ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Maule, Petr (referee)
The Bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of use of renewable energy sources in the Czech Republic and in the Republic of Austria in the period of 2004 - 2015. The thesis analyzes the particular renewable sources from the efficiency point of view, as well as from the point of view of their share on total gross energy consumption. The issue of renewable sources is considered to be a very insistent topic politically, economically and environmentally. Both countries are governed by the European Union legislation, which has been very intensively focusing on the energy policy, and which determines a large scale of obligations for all the EU member states. The theoretical part is dedicated to the specifications of renewable sources and their development in both the countries since 2004. The first part describes the legislative development of renewable sources in the both countries and from the perspective of the European Union. The next part compares the retail and wholesale electricity prices in both the countries. In the end of the theoretical part I am describing the coherence between renewable sources, sustainable development and the environmental theory. The practical part contains an analysis of the total current use of particular renewable sources in the Czech Republic and in Austria. It provides the analysis of the future development of renewable sources and describes the both countries visions that aim to increase the share of renewable sources of the total energy consumption. The outcome of this Bachelors thesis is a comparative analysis of renewable sources, which, based on the mentioned data, demonstrates an objective comparison of both the power industries in this area. Using the data comparison methodology, it becomes obvious that the share renewable sources of the total gross electricity consumption achieves 70 percent in Austria, while only 14 percent in the Czech Republic. This Bachelors thesis provides an analysis of the current status of renewable sources in both the national power industries, as well as the economic insight on the green energy in neighbouring countries.

Skřivancová, Petra ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Lukášová, Tereza (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and evaluation of the impact of changes that occurred in the system of sickness insurance in the Czech Republic between 2010 and 2017. During this period there were several legislative adjustments to the Sickness Insurance Act, especially the austerity measures adopted in 2010 and the adjustments in 2011 and 2014. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the history and the present system, as well as the legislative changes in individual years. The end of the theoretical part characterizes sickness insurance and its benefits. The beginning of the practical part is devoted to the model example of the calculation of sickness insurance benefits, where we can observe the influence of adopted austerity measures. The second part analyzes the impact of changes to income and expenditures of sickness insurance. Expenditures have risen in recent years and are reaching the level of income, which may lead to the system´s financial incompetence. Furthermore, there is an analysis of the indicators of sickness insurance, mainly temporary incapacity for work, which shows that despite the reduction of the average length of one case, the average percentage of incapacity for work is increasing. Finally thesis analyzes the impact of changes on the circles of insured people and evaluates the impact of changes. Based on the results obtained, measures are then proposed to improve the sickness insurance system.

Vodžák, Milan ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Ševčíková, Michaela (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze the purchasing power of wages in the Czech Republic, which achieves very poor results. I discuss the market, historical and institutional factors that can cause wage differences on the basis of comparison with the states of Europe. I analyze the popular problem with the economic apparatus and propose solutions that can prevent the outflow of a qualified workforce and raise the living standards of the population. On a theoretical basis, I discuss the labour productivity and its possible causes, which are mainly human capital and technological equipment. Further, I explain the historical context of the socialist era and the institutional factors in the labour markets. In the practical part, using the causal analysis and comparison, I find, with the help of the Human Development Index, the states with high standards of living, that I compare with the Czech Republic. I detect, that investing in education or research and development has no clear impact on labour productivity, which is low in Czech Republic. Historical data confirm, that in the monitored period 2004-2017, Czech wages grew more than wages in Western Europe, but the wage approach is far away. I also analyze the impact of high labour costs, civil servants, governmental and currency interventions, and lastly, I show forecasts of purchasing power evolution, that seems positive.

Purkertová, Pavlína ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Strejček, Ivo (referee)
The bachelor thesis uses the metod of analysis to determine the efficiency of labor intermediation through issued job recommendations in the town of Pardubice. It has turned out that issuing job recommendations is more effective for detection of voluntary unemployment than as a tool to help mediate suitable employment for the applicant. Successful mediation of work is realized in only 20 % of cases. In this context, the thesis also analyzes the motivation of candidates for voluntary unemployment. This motivation has been found in low-educated applicants where the amount of social security benefits exceeds their available salary. On the basis of the analysis, economic policy recommendations have been formulated to improve the system of issuing job recommendations.

Weinberg, Tomáš ; Štípek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Strejček, Ivo (referee)
Bachelor thesis examines the influence of social reform on the social insurance system in connection with unemployment compensation in Czech Republic between the years 2011 and 2017. The partial aim of this thesis is the presentation of my own design of unemployment insurance system together with its impacts on the national economy. The thesis uses the method of analysis to determine the effectiveness of state labour market policy, pension system and individual unemployment insurance. According to the results social reform has been only half successful because it brings effectiveness only to the active labour market policy and not to the passive labour market policy. Following this analyses the thesis detects the inefficiency in the unemployment compensation system, growing deficit of state labour market policy and in connection with demographic analysis the unsustainability of pension system. Because of these reasons the individual unemployment insurance model is introduced, which aims to increase merit of unemployment compensation, minimalize unemployment and ensure decent pensions for future generations.
