Characterization and application of microwave plasma on wound healing
Smejkalová, Kateřina ; Skoumalová, Petra (referee) ; Krčma, František (advisor)
The aim of the Master thesis is the investigation of the influence of microwave discharge for skin wound healing. Microwave discharge used for this work was argon microwave plasma generated by the surface wave and direct vortex torch. The theoretical part is focused on basic information about plasma and processes that occur in plasma discharge under specific conditions. Plasma generates various active particles such as hydroxyl radicals, nitric oxide radicals, excited nitrogen molecules, atomic nitrogen, argon and oxygen. All of these particles together with plasma generated photons are usable in biomedical applications and summary of them is shown in the theoretical part. The experimental part is focused on the comparison of torch discharge and microwave plasma generated surface wave in skin wound healing. The model wounds on laboratory mousses were treated by plasma and wound healing was examined during 3 weeks after the plasma treatment. Both plasma systems showed healing acceleration. Application of torch discharge was proved to be the most effective method in the healing of skin defects. Additionally, determination of active particles was taken by optical emission spectroscopy. Based on these measurements, plasma parameters were determined: electron temparutare, rotational and vibrational temperatures. To determine role of different plasma active species, the treatment of indigo coloured artificial skin model was treated under various conditions by both plasma systems. Results show that the direct interaction between plasma particles is the main effect, role of radiation, only, is more or less negligible. Finally, the plasma vortex system was visualized using fast camera at selected powers and gas flows.
Characterization of microwave plasma jet generated in argon-oxygen mixtures
Smejkalová, Kateřina ; Mazánková, Věra (referee) ; Krčma, František (advisor)
The optical diagnostics of microwave plasma torch operating at the frequency of 2,45 GHz is a subject of this bachelor thesis. Microwave plasma is generated using the surfatron resonator in argon with oxygen admixture (up to 1,7 %) at the constant argon flow of 3 Slm. The theoretical part gives the basic information about plasma and processes running under plasma conditions. Various active particles such as hydroxyl radicals, nitric oxides, excited nitrogen molecules, nitrogen, argon and oxygen atoms are generated in the discharge. All these particles together with the plasma generated photons can be used in biomedical applications that are briefly reviewed in the theoretical part, too. The visual observation of oxygen admixture on the discharge and the optical emission spectroscopy based determination of the active particles presence along the discharge and post-discharge axis is the subject of experimental part. Based on it, the selected plasma parameters like electron, rotational and vibrational temperatures were calculated.
Cooperation of profit and non-profit sector in the area of CSR
Smejkalová, Kateřina ; Legnerová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Dohnalová, Marie (referee)
Cooperation between the profit and non-profit sectors is a topic that is gaining more and more importance and visibility in today's society. Corporate companies are expected to return part of the profits they make to the community, thus fulfilling the principles of corporate social responsibility. Non-profit companies are interested in building relationships with the commercial sector because the resources coming from there are often a basic prerequisite for their operation. Through the analysis of documents, websites and conducting semi-structured interviews with respondents, I map the types of collaboration between Fandi mámám and the for-profit sector. At the same time, I focus on their evaluation and effectiveness, not only from the point of view of the non-profit organization itself, but also from the point of view of corporate companies. The thesis summarizes and evaluates the current types of cooperation between the organization, which is specific in its position as an intermediary rather than a recipient of aid. This has an impact not only on the organization's ability to help its clients, but also on the companies' willingness to commit to cooperation. Keywords Corporate social responsibility, Fandi mámám, cooperation of the profit and non-profit sector
French and Czech terminology in European legislative texts concentrated on the field: Protection of fauna and flora
SMEJKALOVÁ, Kateřina
This final work deals with French and Czech terminology used in the European legislative texts focusing on the area of the conservation of fauna and flora. The texts concerning this particular domain are processed in the form of a parallel corpus. Consequently, key words in French language including their collocations are selected, whereupon their equivalents in Czech which are used in the translations are subject to a thorough analysis. Provided that such expressions or collocations occur in the terminological database, it is analysed whether the above mentioned translations correspond to this fact.
Simulation method in constructivist foreign language non-specialist university instruction and its impact on students' communication apprehension
Smejkalová, Kateřina ; Poláčková, Věra (advisor)
This dissertation deals with mapping modern trends in the field of foreign language instruction and special attention is paid both to constructivist approach, simulation method and its application in university foreign language instruction. Its research is focused predominantly on mapping the university students' preference for the simulation method and the impact of this preference on their communication apprehension. Outcomes of the research revealed both that the students'preference for the simulation method is influenced by students' selected internal characteristics (ie. their motivation and foreign language competence) and that the preference corresponds with their subjective perception of the communication apprehension.

Reflection of modern Chinese history in belletristic work by contemporary Chinese writer Yu Hua
Šmejkalová, Kateřina ; Andrš, Dušan (advisor) ; Lomová, Olga (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on three novel pieces Huózhe (To Live, 1992), Xǔ Sānguān màixuějì (Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, 1992) and Xiōngdì (Brothers, 2005) written by contemporary chinese author Yú Huá (born 1960). The common feature of these novels is the reflection of the events in modern chinese history through narrative of their protagonists. All the three novels earned wide recognition both from a broad range of readers domestically and abroad and received number of awards. The books will be introduced in literary historical context and thoroughly analyzed. Focus of the analysis is on meaning-forming parts in each novel, which define literate nature in interpretation of real world. The outcome of the thesis is the analysis results based comparison, which declares the shift in writer's novels from critical- realistic storytelling to grotesque-realistic one.

Návrh řešení městského prostoru ve Dvoře Králové nad Labem
Smejkalová, Kateřina
The diploma thesis focuses on brownfield sites and their possible redevelopment or reuse. The author of this thesis has chosen a place in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. It is a compound of former textile enterprise TIBA. The compound is an underused and defunct place which contains industrial waste. There is a smokestack which is eighty metres tall and a tank tower. Both of them have an influence on the city appearance.Graphic output in the form of situations, schemes, cuts and visualization can be found in the analytical and design part. The thesis presents visual and architectonic study which deals with new function of buildings and their interstices. The thesis looks into town planning, social, art and historical aspects of the compounds. Instead of the abondoned factory complex, the new public premises which have great tourist appeal are presented. The place should become a new cultural centre of the town where people can work and relax.
Evaluation of the implementation of system of evaluation and remuneration
Poskočil, Ondřej ; Král, Pavel (advisor) ; Smejkalová, Kateřina (referee)
This thesis consists two goals. The first objective is to evaluate a new system of remuneration and current system of employee evaluation in NVision company in Votice. The second objective is to find out how the systems are evaluated by employees themselves. I have evaluated the first objective according to interviews with employee who introduced the system and also with persons employed in the company. The second goal has been evaluated based on questionnaires passed to employees who filled them in. I found out that introducing of new system of remuneration does not deviate too much from the way it should be introduced but I still found some possible recommendation for the company. In contrary system of employee evaluation is not correctly set up and I have recommended some steps which should be implemented. Evaluation of survey showed that employee evaluation is not set up correctly and system of remuneration is in implementation phase.
