The Cultivation of Language Utterances and Communication Instruction in School

This work contains three parts. The first part describes attitudes chosen by various authors towards the subject of communication training in three sets of textbooks for the second grade of basic schools, namely those by Vlastimil Styblík, Balkó and Zimová and Oldřich Uličný. The aim was to establish if there are differences in the attitudes of the individual authors and if so, what they are. The conclusion made is that in all basic principles the attitudes towards the communication training are the same, i.e. communication principle, integrity of texts with real life of pupils and main aim to increase ability of pupils to be able of a cultured and adequate speech. A significant difference is in a different level of the communication training within the subject of Czech language and literature. Although all three authors keep horizontal link between the individual parts of the subject - language, composition, literature, the level of integrity is different. VI. Styblík allocates a separate part to the communication training which includes chapters on individual composition forms. Authors Balkó and Zimová use a principle of integration in composition of their textbooks (i.e. integration of linguistic and composition texts). V diplomové práci analyzujeme korpus textů firemní e-mailové korespondence a charakterizujeme ho především z pragmatického hlediska. Práce postupuje od vymezení terminologického aparátu a definování obecných pojmů teorie komunikace (komunikační proces, vztahová rovina komunikace, sebeprezentace v komunikaci) k analýze jednotlivých e-mailových zpráv, u nichž přibližujeme širší komunikační kontext, komunikační záměr produktora a vyvolanou reakci u adresátů. Každý z patnácti e- mailů doplňujeme vlastním komentářem. Kromě odborné literatury jsme vycházeli přímo z nashromážděného korpusu textů firemní e-mailové komunikace a zvláštní mnohaleté detailní znalosti komunikačního prostředí popisované firmy. Manipulation in Media Dialogue

Práce vychází z analýzy diskusních pořadů Sedmička, Otázky Václava Moravce a Nedělní partie, které byly sledovány v období únor 2006 - březen 2006 a v období červen 2006 - listopad 2006. Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na popis manipulačních strategií užívaných v těchto mediálních dialozích. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. Jednotlivé kapitoly jsou věnovány základním způsobům záměrného porušování kooperativní komunikace - porušování Griceova a Leechova principu verbální komunikace, podílu a vlivu konfliktotvorných prostředků na manipulaci v mediálním dialogu a kvaziargumentaci. Součástí praktické části je i kapitola věnovaná neverbální manipulaci a reakcím na ni. Na závěr práce je zařazena kapitola věnující se didaktickému využití tématu "manipulace v mediálním dialogu". Obsahuje takové příklady cvičení, které se snaží studentům usnadnit pochopení dané problematiky. Semantic analysis of the argumentation with the examples of judicial argumentation

This thesis deals with semantic coherence of an opinion and arguments in its support. It concerns some pragmatic and syntactic aspects, as well, the author studies the argumentation in the capacity of speech act realized in natural language with the intention to persuade an auditorium about the acceptability / plausibility of the opinion presented. The author of this thesis also gives some basic characterization on the semantics of the argumentation from the viewpoint of formal logic, which he proposes to be completed with linguistic semantics. He tries to define some fundamental terms too. The semantic consistence of ethical argumentation is understood there as the first essential precondition to its acceptability. The author considers the argumentation to be consistent, if there exists a causal interpropositional coherence between an opinion and the arguments. By studying the semantic structure of the argumentation he concluded that the argumentation can be expressed by different illocutive acts in the discourse. In this thesis the author is inspired by Aristoteles, as well. He chooses the examples of the argumentation from legal discourse and from accessible literature.
