Analysis of candidate transmembrane adaptor proteins

Transmembrane adaptor proteins (TRAPs) function as a scaffolding anchor for numerous signaling molecules and facilitate formation of large signaling complexes near the plasma membrane. They regulate spatio-temporal organization of signaling events in order to transduce fast and effective signal from surface receptors into the cell nucleus. The importance of described TRAPs in the development and proper functioning of immune cells in relation to their localization within lipid rafts is still under debate. The simple reason is the lack of a profound phenotype in knock-out mice. The described phenotypes observed in animals deficient in ITAM-containing adaptors of immunoreceptors as well as lipid raft adaptor Lat all lead to the block in the T-cell development and impaired TCR signaling. The subject of my diploma thesis is to perform bioinformatic search and filter candidate TRAP genes according to predicted and published data. Selected TRAP candidates were subjected to functional characterization. I checked for their localization to the plasma membrane and correlate their ectopic overexpression with the expression of CD69 surface Tcell activation marker. From 14 candidate TRAPs, only a single Pdzk1ip1 protein is probably localized to the plasma membrane but its expression does not influence CD69...

Preferential attitudes of children to the image of a schoolteacher

The image of a teacher is the basic element for obtaining children's confidence. It brings the first immediate information about the teacher's personality but it also plays an important role after a child has learnt about the teacher's personal qualities. The aim of this work was to find out the preschool children's preferences and attitudes to a teacher's image, especially to reveal appearance categories that children consider important (in the both positive or negative meaning) or that they ignore, and how they explain their choice. The theoretical part characterizes a preschool child; it deals with visual and social perception, human personality, and self-interpretation. The methodological part specifies basic terminology related to the research topic (such as qualitative research, grounded theory, method of interview). The method of the qualitative research was used in the practical part in which the sets of black-and-white and colour images of volunteers (portraits and figures of potential kindergarten teachers) were repeatedly presented to a representative group of children. The results of the positive and negative choices and also the reasons of the choices were recorded and obtained data were graphically analyzed. The data analysis clarifies that neither overall image of volunteers nor the colour of clothing do play an important role in the respondents' choices. In the primary decision, the respondents pay more attention to the hair style of volunteers. They prefer neat blond hair (especially in a ponytail) whereas eccentricity (atypical haircut or colour) discourages the respondents. It is also obviuos that the respondents focus on details, such as shape of earrings and glasses, the way of wearing a scarf, images on the T-shirt and etc.) which influence the respondents' choice in a significant way.

Technická analýza na devizovém trhu

Na devizovém trhu stojí proti sobě hlavně technická a fundamentální analýza. Obě mají řadu zastánců a odpůrců. Tato práce se objektivně zaměřuje čistě na technickou analýzu a popisuje základní znaky, metody a jednotlivé kroky. Důležitou součástí je i aplikace popsané teorie a indikátorů počínaje samotnou technickou stránkou obchodování až po tu psychologickou, která je minimálně stejně tak důležitá. Cílem je sjednotit všechny podstatné základní informace a utvořit obecný přehled pro začínající investory, kteří se chtějí zaměřit na devizový trh. V příloze se pak nachází velmi stručný specializovaný slovník, jehož hlavním účelem je pomoci začátečníkům při četbě odborných textů v angličtině, jelikož je stále jen málo českých kvalitních zdrojů.

Operace České národní banky na finančním trhu při aplikaci monetární politiky

Práce podává informace o vývoji centrálního bankovnictví od založení Československé republiky, přes období 2. Světové války, období normalizace a konce centrálně plánovaného hospodářství po vznik České národní banky, nové instituce zasazené do progresivního a dynamického tržního systému. Práce se zaměřuje převážně na aktivity české centrální banky na finančních trzích od svého počátku působení v roce 1993. Poukazuje na její úspěšné ale i na ne příliš povedené rozhodnutí v otázkách nastavení monetární politiky jak během období hospodářské expanse tak i recese.

Fundamentální analýza na index PX

Práce pojednává o fundamentální analýze na akciové kurzy se zaměřením na index PX Burzy cenných papírů Praha. Faktory, které mohou mít vliv na pohyb akciových kurzů jsou rozděleny do tří úrovní tedy na globální, odvětvovou a podnikovou fundamentální analýzu. Další částí je použití reálných časových řad pro regresní analýzu, která má ukázat jestli mezi některými makroekonomickými veličinami a indexem PX Burzy cenných papírů Praha existuje závislost. Mezi použité makroekonomické veličiny patří HDP v kupních cenách, inflace, úroková míra, peněžní agregát M3. Cílem je poté najít tuto závislost a popsat její důvod.

Úrokové deriváty

Rozmach trhů s finančními deriváty v průběhu posledních dvou desetiletí ukazuje na jejich důležité místo v struktuře finančních trhů zemí s vyspělou ekonomikou. Snížení rizika investorů, snazší diverzifikace portfolia, stabilizace a zvýšení likvidity trhu jsou pouze nejvíce viditelnými přínosy využívání derivátů. Finanční deriváty staly se také velice oblíbeným nástrojem spekulantů, neboť umožňují dosáhnout rychlý a vysoký výdělek. Cílem této práci je popsat příčiny vzniku jednotlivých finančních instrumentů, způsob jejich konstrukce a možnosti vyžití.

Business Cycle ? the Perspective of Austrian School

Práce se snaží vysvětlit monetární příčiny hospodářských cyklů a zkoumá media a mechanismy jejich šíření v ekonomice. Vychází při tom z rakouské teorie kapitálu. Metodou zkoumání jsou postupy logické dedukce. Výstupem je deskriptivní analýza obecných příčin hospodářských cyklů z hlediska obecné ekonomické teorie rakouské školy. V praktické části je proveden rozbor těch nejdůležitějších hospodářsko-politických opatření před a během Velké deprese. Na té byla teorie monetárních příčin hospodářského cyklu prakticky testována. Z této aplikace vyplývá, že Velká deprese měla tak dlouhé trvání právě kvůli nevhodným hospodářským politikám americké vlády a byla způsobena nevhodnou měnovou politikou Federálního rezervního systému.

Individuální investování v ČR

Práce analyzuje strukturu úspor českých domácností v posledních letech a zaměřuje se na kolektivní investování ve formě podílových fondů a individuální investování do cenných papírů. Práce se snaží identifikovat příčiny současné vysoké obliby podílových fondů, naproti relativně velmi malé části úspor českých domácností směrujících přímo do cenných papírů.
