Vzhled učitele je základním stavebním kamenem pro získání důvěry dětí. Přináší první bezprostřední informaci o osobě učitele, ale sehrává významnou roli i po té, kdy se dítě seznámí s kvalitami učitelovy osobnosti. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit preferenční postoje předškolních dětí ke vzhledu pedagoga, zejména pak odhalit vzhledové kategorie, kterým děti přikládají důležitost (ať již v pozitivním či negativním smyslu), které ignorují a jak svůj výběr vysvětlují. Teoretická část práce charakterizuje dítě předškolního věku, zabývá se zrakovým a sociálním vnímáním, osobností člověka a sebepojetím. Metodologická část vymezuje základní pojmy, které se k dané problematice vztahují (jako je kvalitativní výzkum, zakotvená teorie, metoda rozhovoru). V praktické části provedené metodou kvalitativního výzkumu byly reprezentativní skupině dětí opakovaně předkládány sety černobílých a barevných fotografií figurantek (portréty i celé postavy potenciálních učitelek mateřských škol) a výsledky pozitivního i negativního výběru a jeho důvody byly zaznamenány a graficky zpracovány. Z analýz výpovědí vyplývá, že celkový vzhled figurantek ani barva oděvu nehraje při volbě významnou roli. V prvotní volbě respondenti přikládají největší pozornost vlasům figurantek. Preferují upravené blond vlasy (zejména stažené do ohonu) zatímco extravagance (atypický střih či barva) je odrazuje. Zároveň je patrné zaměření na detaily (tvar náušnic či brýlí, způsob uvázání šátku, potisk trička atd.), které značnou měrou ovlivňuje výběr. The image of a teacher is the basic element for obtaining children's confidence. It brings the first immediate information about the teacher's personality but it also plays an important role after a child has learnt about the teacher's personal qualities. The aim of this work was to find out the preschool children's preferences and attitudes to a teacher's image, especially to reveal appearance categories that children consider important (in the both positive or negative meaning) or that they ignore, and how they explain their choice. The theoretical part characterizes a preschool child; it deals with visual and social perception, human personality, and self-interpretation. The methodological part specifies basic terminology related to the research topic (such as qualitative research, grounded theory, method of interview). The method of the qualitative research was used in the practical part in which the sets of black-and-white and colour images of volunteers (portraits and figures of potential kindergarten teachers) were repeatedly presented to a representative group of children. The results of the positive and negative choices and also the reasons of the choices were recorded and obtained data were graphically analyzed. The data analysis clarifies that neither overall image of volunteers nor the colour of clothing do play an important role in the respondents' choices. In the primary decision, the respondents pay more attention to the hair style of volunteers. They prefer neat blond hair (especially in a ponytail) whereas eccentricity (atypical haircut or colour) discourages the respondents. It is also obviuos that the respondents focus on details, such as shape of earrings and glasses, the way of wearing a scarf, images on the T-shirt and etc.) which influence the respondents' choice in a significant way.
