Ice cascades in the Krkonoše Mountains
Švec, Matěj ; Engel, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Šťastná, Petra (referee)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to obtain and present basic knowledge of the icefall on the Krkonoše Mountains. Localization has been made by field surveys in selected areas. Height was measured using a laser rangefinder. Criteria for icefalls was fixed at least 4 m height and 4 m wide. Values for the altitude, the inclination of the surrounding slopes, orientation and height difference on the surface were calculated using morphometric analysis in ArcGis. The values were compared and discussed with regard to the relief. Another objective was to make a research of recent publication about the icefall theme and make regional physical characteristics connected to the ice forms. The number of detected icefalls is 49. The biggest concentration is in glacial trough the Labské údolí valley (30). Another areas are in glacial trough the Obří důl valley, around glacial lakes- Wielki and Mały Staw (7) and in the Velká Kotelní jáma cirque (2). Icefalls are located between 904 and 1345 m above mean sea level (average 1172 m). The maximum height of the icefall is 100m (average 36 m). The height difference on the surface range from 583 m to 740 m (avarage 637 m). The inclination of the surrounding slopes ranged from 18ř to 39ř. Icefalls are located on east- facing sites with two branches east-northeast...
EVOLUTION OF ICEFALL IN LABSKÁ ROKLE RAVINE DURING 2014-2016
Švec, Matěj ; Engel, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Šťastná, Petra (referee)
The objective of this thesis is to characterize the Labská rokle creek icefall in terms of its morphology and types of ice structures. It describes the icefall's development during the winter season and analyses the impact of meteorological factors. The data about the icefall's volume were collected via sequential photographing and 3D scanner measuring during the winter seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. The collected data were compared with the data from temperature sensors situated below the icefall and in its close proximity and with the data from the meteorological station in Labská bouda hut. The given icefall showed a very fast growth in the first phase of its development. This phase was followed by a typically stable phase of small fluctuations and subtle reactions to surrounding stimuli. In the third phase, a rapid decline in volume occurred as a result of either episodic events, such as when a larger piece of ice came loose, or progressive thawing. Regarding the factors, it was confirmed that temperature had the biggest impact on the volume of the icefall. A very high correlation was also found to be between the icefall's volume and the height of snow. A bigger snow height apparently puts off the stable phase and allows a greater accumulation of ice. The impact of global radiation and sunlight...
The Influence of Turbofolk on Modification of Identity In the Diasporal Communities from Former Yugoslavia - example of Post-Yugoslav Communities in Austria
Šťastná, Petra ; Pelikán, Jan (advisor) ; Vlainić, Sandra (referee)
The thesis is concentrated on a research based on turbofolk music in diaspora from the former Yugoslav countries. When speaking about turbofolk, the term can be explained as a type of popular music combined with folk elements. It originates in the former Yugoslav countries, but similar pop-folk genres can be found in other European and non- European countries as well. People with immigration background living in diaspora can possess different types of relations towards this type of music than their counterparts in the ex-Yugoslav countries. Especially, certain common tendencies can be observed among the diaspora youth cosuming turbofolk. This work will primarily give answers to the basic questions including attitudes towards turbofolk in the ex-Yugoslav diaspora. It will describe turbofolk scene in the diaspora and show its extensiveness. In particular it will be focused on the Austrian case (concerning practising turbofolk etc.). Nevertheless, it will also investigate contemporary tendencies in identification with turbofolk. Key words turbofolk, diaspora, Yugoslavia, identity, Austria
