The integration of an organization by the process management
Křivanec, Oto ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis describes the integration of an organization by the process management and it is based on a hypothesis: Is it possible by using process audit to assess the maturity level of the process(es) and the maturity of the organization Mepatek holding itself? The thesis has following objectives: Firstly the research of theoretical basis for the application of appropriate methodologies for a designing process-driven organization, secondly with the help of the process audit assess the maturity process(es) and the entire organization and thirdly a proposal of process-driven organization. This thesis is divided in four parts. The first part is connected to the explanation of the topic, hypotheses definition and objectives. The second part concerns on process management which defines the basic concepts and describes the theoretical background needed to understand the issue. The third part deals with the integration of an organization Mepatek holding"by the process management. The fourth and last part contains a conclusion and evaluation of the objectives of the thesis.
Process engineering of Public administration - the PARMA project
Schwarzkopf, Dan ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Havelka, Zdeněk (referee)
The Parma project deals with process (re)engineering of public administration. In the first phase the project focused on mapping the processes of a local authority. Then the key processes were set and the project moved to the reengineering phase. This thesis shows that the matter is much more complicated and goes beyond public administration as such. The process perspective allows to create many different processes coping with the same issue. The thesis, with the help of Prof. Boullier's work ("La Boussole écodémocrate"), offers a "philosophical" framework of public sector. This contribution is the foundation for future Parma project development. The thesis contains some propositions designed for the Parma project management improvement. It also presents the methodology used in the Parma project (MMABP -- Methodology for Modelling and Analysis of Business Processes), and gives some propositions for its improvement.
Process Driven Organization
Žalčík, Hynek ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis is focused on company process management. The aim is to describe the operation and management of a particular company, through defining yet undescribed processes, so as to enable operational improvements and organizational development by its application. The intention is, however, also to find the customary processes and to achieve such a general approach that it can be possible to use the created models for other subjects. The object of thesis is not to model vast and complex diagrams, but to clarify unclear places in company. For example, the distribution of activity in multiple portions, between multiple processes, so that the output is a clear representation of the organisation process map. Company management is a topic that is currently very popular and addressed by many authors in various texts. Every day there are new approaches and methods created in order to face this topic, and to achieve high efficiency. Due to the quantum of works is not easy to choose the ideal approach. It is also important to realize that not every organization can be satisfied with each methodology. This thesis is divided into chapters. The introduction provides the objectives of the work and there are mentioned hypotheses which are discussed in Chapter Five. One hypothesis is focused on the exercise of the MMABP methodology, and asks questions that lead to discussion whether the use of the methodology leads to the creation of ideal and generally adaptable processes. The second chapter describes the methodological approach and familiarize the reader with the modelled project. The third chapter is dedicated to the global process map. The fourth chapter focuses on individual processes. It is followed by discussion and conclusions in the fifth and sixth chapter, commenting outputs of this work.
Comparison of relational database schema and XML structures
Vodňanský, Daniel ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Řepa, Václav (referee)
The work deals with the relationship of the relational model and XML schema document and its technological and pragmatic aspects. It defines the theoretical field of data modeling at conceptual level and the two mentioned possible implementation models at the physical level. The aim is to answer the question when in the design and development of application or system it is appropriate to proceed with one of these models. Furthermore, this work also provides a general procedure for mapping conceptual schema into XML schema structures and solutions to problems that can come across during the mapping process. The problem is solved by analyzing two real issues - timetables of public transportation and the information system of a swimming school, formalized through a mechanism of predicate logic. Unlike most works on a similar topic this one varies in a pragmatic view on the problem - the concept of data, their origin, their target user and structuring.
Getting rid of social networks addiction
Roček, Vojtěch ; Řepa, Václav (advisor) ; Jelínková, Veronika (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find a method how to test the tools for an intervention with procrastination on social networks. The thesis tests and according to a built scale evaluates if there are people who are addicted to social networks. Further, the thesis introduces tools suitable for the intervention of this addiction and states distinct suggestions on how to perform a wider research to explore the most suitable tools. The thesis compares both the software tools centered on measuring, blocking, hiding and aiming, and psychological tools centered on how to work with oneself through calming down and mindfulness or creating a personal vision. The research is aimed at the PC and smart phones Android platforms. The outcome is a suggestion to investigate both tools individually described and their variable combinations during the intervention of the addiction to social networks to closely understand the effect of their using and practical implementation.
Business process modeling in investment banking
Helebrant, Petr ; Svatoš, Oleg (advisor) ; Řepa, Václav (referee)
This master thesis deals with modeling of business processes in the areas of investment banking. There are three objectives. The first objective is the explanation of investment banking. The second objective is to model the system processes a specific part of the investment banking from the real environment, what is created here with the help of the methodology MMABP. In the end, the model is supplemented with the analysis in terms of process management, which is the third goal of the thesis.

The first part contains a description of the basic definitions, principles, concepts and procedures of process management, which form the methodological basis. The second part deals with the application of process management in the company ASM and presents an analysis of the current state, conceptual and process modeling, infrastructure design and description of the psychological aspect of project's implementation for process changes. Diagrams formed in programs PowerDesigner and Draw.io are also included in this thesis.
Multi-Project Environment in Outsourcing
Blažík, Radek ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Řepa, Václav (referee)
This master thesis deals with the issue of managing a group of projects from the perspective of an outsourcing provider. The goals of this master thesis are to define the area of multi-project environment in outsourcing, describe features of a real example of such environment, identify characteristic features in them and design a set of recommendations for its efficient management. In the first part, the area and conditions of multi-project environment in outsourcing are defined. Subsequently, the theoretical knowledge in literature is analyzed. The second part focuses on practical research in a real organization dealing with this kind of project management. First, the methodology of the research is defined, then the results are described in detail. Using the previously collected knowledge the third part identifies features which are typical for multi-project environment in outsourcing. This means those areas which require attention and can be generalized in this field of project management. Based on the previous knowledge, the fourth part sets recommendations for efficient management of multi-project environment in outsourcing within identified characteristics. The original contribution of this master thesis is the definition of multi-project environment in outsourcing, identification of its characteristic features and set of recommendations for its efficient management.
