This report is addressed to water treatment plant operators and serves as a basic material for optimizing the coagulation / flocculation and adsorption process in water treatment. The report explains in detail the issue of removal of perfluorinated organic substances (PFCs) in water treatment, especially the process of adsorption in pilot plant conditions. This report will be used as a theoretical basis for the operation of the water treatment plant in Kutná Hora operated by the Water Management Company Vrchlice - Maleč, a. s.
Actual Migration Policy in Austria
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Lenka
This study sets out to consider current migration policy in Austria. The intention is to give an overall view of Austrian immigration policy over the last twenty years. In the introduction, aims will be set and hypotheses formulated, which will be enlarged on in the main body of the study. The main body will be characterised by both theoretical and practical approaches. Part of the study will be devoted to the history of migration policy, to laws and legal terms, and to naturalisation and integration policy, as well as Jörg Haider{\crq}s policies; for the practical side of the study, a questionnaire will drawn up to research xenophobic and nationalistic tendencies amongst Austrians. At the end of the study, all of the findings obtained will be summarised.
Coagulation optimization of the wastewater effluent at the Podlázky, Kvasiny and Solnice wastewater treatment plants
Pivokonský, Martin ; Čermáková, Lenka ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Pivokonská, Lenka
The presented report deals with the characterization and optimization of coagulation of wastewater effluent from three wastewater treatment plants – Podlázky WWTP, Kvasiny WWTP and Solnice WWTP, which are to serve as a source of raw water for process water production for Škoda auto, as. The report is designed as a basis for implementation of pilot tests and subsequent design of the technological line of the planned water treatment plant, where coagulation and subsequent separation of the suspension by flotation is planned as the first stage of water treatment.

Optimization of the coagulation/flocculation process at the Myslivny water treatment plant
Pivokonský, Martin ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Petříček, Radim ; Čermáková, Lenka
This report describes the raw water quality focusing on the content of natural organic substances, as well as laboratory optimization of coagulation operating parameters - especially the type and dose of coagulating agent and the value of reaction pH and proposing measures necessary to improve the current situation.
Atmospheric greenhouse gases - new type of measurements in the Czech Republic
Čermáková, Lenka ; Sedlák, Pavel (advisor) ; Zíková, Naděžda (referee)
The current condition, development and functioning of ecosystems is greatly influenced by the ongoing global change, which is probably caused by the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere originating from human activity. Ecosystems are able to some extent cope with the consequences of global change on their own, and therefore ensure their future preservation. To understand the forces driving global change, we need detailed quality data from long-term observation. Quantification of substance and energy flows in different ecosystems and ecosystem valuation ability to bind air carbon allows us to model their development, both in current conditions and under conditions of global change. This thesis presents the current research methods of atmospheric boundary layer flows, while highlighting their advantages and pointing out their drawbacks. It also enables a better understanding of new methods of observation through the tall towers. The thesis presents some of the existing tall towers and describes their ways and methods of measurement. A part of the thesis is devoted to a tall tower which is planned to be built in the Czech Republic between municipalities Košetice and Křešín u Pacova. It provides an overview of methods, instrumental and technical equipment and facilities of the new tall...
Quality of life of patients with degenerative disease of the spine
Čermáková, Lenka ; Hošťálková, Monika (advisor) ; Hrdličková, Renáta (referee)
The presenting project regarging 'Quality of life in patiens with degenerative disorders of the spine' is subdivided into two parts - first theoretical introduction, second the empirical part. Theoretical part consists of an anatomical and fysiological issues of the spine, description of the low back pain syndrome, degenerative disorders of the spine with it's symptomatology, diagnosis, treatment and nursing. In the empirical part I followed a cohort of patients. Each of the patient fulfilled a'Quality of life questionare' prior to spinal surgery and at least six months after spinal surgery, then the results were compared. The median age group was 60 yo, i.e. 44.12 % of all operated patients with degenerative spinal disorders. 41.18 % of the patients went to vocational school and 41.18 % were manual workers with physically demanding work. According to the results, quality of life after spinal surgery was overall improved, low back pain lessened and patients reduced using pain killers. There was s signifiant improvement in daily acivities and patients subjectively felt theirselves in better health condition.
Characterisation and elimination of compounds difficult to remove during water treatment
Čermáková, Lenka
The Ph.D. thesis deals with the characterization of algal organic matter (AOM), which is difficult to remove in water treatment, and on the basis of AOM character, various methods for its elimination, e.g. coagulation, oxidation with subsequent coagulation and adsorption onto activated carbon are assesed. Special emphasis is placed on identifying the optimal conditions of the processes and on describing the mechanisms and interactions involved. In terms of anthropogenic micropollutants, the thesis deals with the highly topical issue of the occurrence of microplastics in water. It was found that the removal efficiency of the individual AOM components varies substantially depending on the elimination method used. The identified optimum conditions of individual methods and especially the mechanisms that apply to the removal of target substances varied widely. The non-proteinaceous fraction of AOM was removed with very low efficiency (max. 25%) by conventional coagulation even under optimized conditions (pH 6.6- 7.5 for aluminium sulfate as the coagulating agent and pH 7.5-9.0 for polyaluminium chloride) and it was given by the high content of low molecular weight (LMW) substances that are difficult to coagulate. The dominant coagulation mechanism was adsorption onto aluminium hydroxide precipitates....
Chemical-technological audit of the WTP Tlumačov - assessment of the technology of suspension formation and separation
Pivokonský, Martin ; Čermáková, Lenka ; Prokopová, Michaela ; Fialová, Kateřina ; Sochorová, H. ; Haidl, Jan
The report describes the assessment of the sludge formation and separation technology at the WTP Tlumačov in two measuring cycles (summer 2020 and spring 2021) in profiles: i) aeration, ii) effluent from the reaction tank, iii) flocculation, iv) sediment inflow, v) after sedimentation, vi) inflow to filtration, vii) after filtration, on the right and left line of ÚV Tlumačov. The report assessed the quality of raw and treated water and the effectiveness of destabilization and aggregation. The preparation of the suspension in the phase of fast and slow mixing and separation of flakes were evaluated. Aggregation tests (sedimentometric analysis) were used for this purpose.
