Topsoil application in reclamation practice advantages and pitfalls
Čížková, Barbora ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Bartuška, Martin (referee)
This paper deals with spreading the topsoil to the dumps after brown coal mining as reclamation measure. Here I describe its advantages and disadvantages for soils and ecosystems restoring and the soil organic matter budget. Furthermore, I present here my pilot work dealing with long-term storage topsoil in stockpile and its impact on soil microbial parameters, especially microbial respiration and amount of biomass after stockpile disturbance. Soil used for the research came from different depths of excavated stockpile. The samples were measured for soil respiration by titration and amount of microbial biomass by fumigation-respiration method. The highest values were always measured in samples from greatest depths. It is due to greater making use of accumulated carbon, which becomes better accessible to microorganisms after erosion of stockpile. Keywords: brown coal, soil organic matter, reclamation, topsoil, post-minig sites

Čížková, B. (2011). International standards Quality for Children in the practice of the social and legal protection of children in the Czech republic. Praha: Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Master's Degree Thesis. The object of this work is to identify the weaknesses of the current system of the alternative care by comparing casuistry with the standards of quality. I use casuistry of the current or former clients of foster care. In the first part I put the topic of social and legal protection of children into context of international and constitutional documents. There is also a chapter about the Standars Quality4Children. Then I focus on the situation in the Czech republic. I start with the descripction of the current system and finish with the process of transformation of the system of care for children at risk. The bill changing the Act No. 359/1999 Coll. on the social and legal protection of children was published. It is the first step to the transformartion and it's necessary to be followed-up other steps. The actual explorative empirical part of this work is conducted by a qualitative research strategy. The empirical investigation was executed in form of interviews with twelve respondents. Research sample consists of two social workers (from authority for social and legal protection of...
Design and Realisation of the Competency Approach for Children of Younger School Age in the Junák - Czech Scouting Organisation
Čížková, Barbora ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to create and implement a competency-based approach in the organization Junák - Czech Scouting for children of younger school age. Further, it analyses the possibilities and limits of such an approach. The theoretical part deals with the development of key competencies through scout education. Special attention is paid to the transformation of the educational programme in the children's organization Junák - Czech Scout at the beginning of the 21st century. Furthermore, the terms of competence and key competence are discussed. The practical part was carried out as action research in the 3rd Scout Unit Holubov. Using a questionnaire survey, the research first focuses on the reflection of Scout Paths, which represent the current scout tool for applying the competency-based approach. The next part of the research concentrates on creating a new competency-based model that verifies and reflects in practice. In the final part, the possibilities and limits of this new model are analyzed and suggestions for further implementations are proposed. Key Words key competencies, competency model, Scouting, Junák, Stezka, educational methods, New programme (educational scout programme), educational tools, personal development, competency-based approach.

The tuition of drawing on The Pedagogical Institute in České Budějovice (practical - theoretic thesis)
ČÍŽKOVÁ, Barbora
The thesis is dedicated to the topic "the subject of postulation in drawing" aimed at the education of pedagogues. In particular, used at the "Učitelském ústavu v Českých Budějovicích" institution based in the city of Ceske Budejovice. The institution is especially valuable by hosting many respected public figures across the whole Czech Republic. The target of the theoretical part in this work is to, at least partially, map the educational genesis of pedagogues in the field of drawing within the Southern part of the Czech Republic and try to approach the transformation of this subject. Whereas the practical part summarizes and transfers all discovered information into a representative output panel with the emphasis on its practical usage in the tertiary sphere of education.
The Size and Structure of Families and Households in Australia during the period 1991-2031
Čížková, Barbora ; Kurtinová, Olga (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee)
The Size and Structure of Families and Households in Australia during the period 1991-2031 Abstract Diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of changes in the size and structure of families and private households in Australia between years 1991-2011. Furthermore, it also tries to predict the possible future development in their size, number and structure in 2012-2031. Emphasis is placed on the comparison of Australian states and territories. The analysis in this thesis is primary based on censuses. In the first part there are outlines of theories of family and second the demographic transition. There is also focus on Australian indigenous people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as the organization of family life and households differs from the European system. Attention is also paid to demographic development of Australia and its states and territories in 1991-2011, because it is an important precondition of the analysis of changes in the size and structure of families and households. For the projection of private households was used modified method of the headship rates model called the standard propensity model. The results suggest that in the period 1991-2011, the number of private households increased in Australia. The smallest increase occurred in the number of couple families with children...
Soil chemical and microbial properties in reclaimed and unreclaimed grasslands
Čížková, Barbora ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Cepáková, Šárka (referee)
For successful restoration of unstable ecosystems in the dumps recreating a fully functioning lan dis needed. Dump substrates often have poor grain composition, extreme pH or are toxic. They also lack important recent organic matter, which improves the overall quality of the soil and is therefore necessary for the development of quality and fertile soil. Therefore, restoration of ecosystems in the dumps is initially very slow. A number of reclamation measures was invented to accelerate this process - for example, heaping up of topsoil to dump substrates. With organic matter present in the topsoil soil formation is faster and often with their physical and chemical properties differ significantly from then developed soils. There has already been number of works written considering development of soils on the Velká podkrušnohorská výsypka so far, none of which, however, did not affect grasslands. The aim of this work was to obtain complete information about the development of chemical and microbial properties of soils that were recultivted by reclaimed topsoil and grassed and then to compare them with developments in the areas of overgrown spontaneous succession. It was found that the total carbon content increases with time only in the reclaimed areas and maximum of the increase is in the depth of...
Demographic changes in Euroasia during the period 1950-2050 according to the UN population estimates and projections
Čížková, Barbora ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Burcin, Boris (referee)
Demographic changes in Eurasia during the period 1950-2050 according to the UN population estimates and projections Abstract The aim of this thesis is to find out if in post-Soviet countries at least partial convergence trends existed in the population development during the period of political co-existence, whether a differentiation of population development took place there and how these trends have continued in the last two decades. It answers the questions what was the population development of its republics, current independent states since 1950 and what the differences are after the collapse of the Soviet Union, while providing an overview of future population development in this area. The post-Soviet countries always very varied in the level of economic development and cultural diversity and therefore their population development has been significantly differentiated. Central Asia has traditionally been a region with high fertility levels and very high rates of infant mortality, while the west part of the former Soviet Union has been a territory with the lowest level of fertility which has been under the replacement level of fertility for a long period it this area and low infant mortality rate. The post- Soviet countries of the Western Asia have been placed with its population development between...
