People versus cormorants
Ulrychová, Michala ; Haluzík, Radovan (advisor) ; Lhota, Stanislav (referee)
Great Cormorant belongs to those animal species, whose feeding habits are in conflict with economic interests of humans. As predator feeding entirely on fish, Great Cormorants in Europe had been nearly hunted to extinction in the past and therefore classified as endangered species in 20th century. Because of conservation efforts and other positive factors involved, its numbers increased unprecedented and its distribution expanded across all Europe. From the early eighties ideal conditions for breeding were found also in Trebonsko Protected Land Area (PLA) in Southern Bohemia. Trebonsko is not only PLA but has been also known as center of Czech pond culture for many centuries. Appearance of Great Cormorant stirred up conflict between conservationist and fishermen, who suffered a financial loss. Purpose of this work was to approach background of this conflict and to present attitudes and opinions of all concerned parties. The study starded with media search and a set of questionnaires was completed by different groups as professional fishermen, conservationist, game fishermen, local citizens and tourists visiting the PLA. Hlavová, Lucie ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
LEGAL COMPARISON OF REPRESENTATION GRANTED BY THE PRINCIPAL UNDER THE CZECH AND GERMAN CIVIL CODE WITH REGARD TO THE PROPOSAL OF A NEW CZECH CIVIL CODE Legal representation (agency) belongs to the most important legal institutes within the private autonomy of each person. Acting on behalf of the principal, the representative (agent) has the authority to affect directly the legal position of the principal. The valid Czech Civil Code of 1964 regulates this legal institute in only a few provisions, the commentaries on this Act and civil law books deal only with the basic information and there is not a single Czech monograph on this topic. It may invoke that this institute is not the complicated one but this would be fully wrong. There are many questions regarding the relationship between the principal and the representative or between the representative and the third party. A lot of problems are traditionally caused by the legal authority, its scope and ending. In order to create a modern private law in the Czech Republic, which should put an end to the legal development of the past decades influenced by socialism, a new Civil Code should be created. This gives a chance also to a better regulation of agency adequate to the right of people to determine their private sphere and to the protection of third parties...

Developing trends influencing world insurance market and Czech insurance market
Mišičková, Daniela ; Daňhel, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Klaban, A (referee)
Today's globalization leads to a wide range of new developing trends influencing the insurance market. The main one is a variance in the character of risks. The generation of new threats means for insurers to face up a difficultness with an identification of risks and a prediction of future damages. Solutions of a catastrophic impact of damages are hidden in an alternative transfer of risks and a higher level of assurance. The treat of longevity has its own impact, too. Demographic shock caused by a strain of population has turned people in advanced western markets to life-insurance. Mainly, because of a current insufficient set up of pensions systems, people has searched a new possibility how to insure their post-active life. It has enabled a development of life-insurance products focusing on individual clients' needs and providing several components of flexibility and variability. As a next globalization push, I cannot omit concentration and consolidation ongoing nowadays on the insurance market. Rise of giant conglomerates can be seen in the accent of cost reduction, diversification of risks and using enormous financial power. Nevertheless, the main impulse has risen from the still changing clients' needs with the necessity of obtaining complex financial service. Last but not least, I would like to mention the implementation of a regulatory project Solvency II accompanying by IFRS in the field of the insurance market. Their objectives are a reduction of information asymmetry, a higher stability of the insurance market and transparency and comparability of insurers' financial reporting leading to higher clients' protection.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to find out how a fast growth of the population impacts upon budget management of the chosen local authority, i.e. in which way -- if in any -- these changes in the number of population affect the council's revenues and expenditures. In the first part of this paper, a local authority is defined in general, including its functions and its budget with its revenues and expenditures. In the second part, the suitability of the choice of the local authority is supported by evidence based on demographic analysis of the population growth. The third part is focused on how the changes in the number of population affect the revenue part of the local council's budget; and the last part deals with the impact of these changes on the expenditure part. The large dependence on change in the number of population was demonstrated at most of tax revenues. On the other hand at expenditures there are dependent only two kinds, expenditures for protection of environment and expenditures for local authority.
