A myth in the perspective of a cultural theory (Egyptian myth of Usir and Scandinavian myth of Baldr)
Herrmannová, Nela ; Matějů, Martin (referee) ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor)
This cultural-historical work deals with the analysis of myth, being the core of spiritual culture and culturologist interpretation. The aim of this work is to focus on the Royal Egyptian myth which is one of the oldest myths at all. Further, the work is going to compare this myth with the Scandinavian myth about Balder. Finally, the goal iof this work is to explain the role that mythology had in times of its blossom, when it was actually lived, and what does it mean for people today, in the 'demiraclenized' and overmodernized world. At the same time the work argues with some technical sources and thus brings another detailed interpretation of the myths. Apparently, the comparison of two myths, distant in both time and place, endorses Joseph Campbell's opinion about the unity of human spirit and claiming that our human fantasy and imagination underwent a similar development, despite different cultures and surroundings. The main goal of this work is to demonstrate by various examples the meaning and role of mythology in human mind and to confirm its adaptability function by analysis of two affinitive myths. This analysis offers some further conclusions concerning the unity of human mind. Apart from what has been said above the author also concentrates on a theoretical contemplation on myth as a drama topic....

About the epistemic use of modal verbs in today's German
Miňovská, Tereza ; Doležal, Jiří (referee) ; Dovalil, Vít (advisor)
There is a difference between the two types of use of modal verbs. If we use an epistemic modal, we are interested in the truth of a proposition. If we use a deontic modal, we are interested in the occurence of an event. Epistemic modals could be interpreted as subjectively epistemic or objectivelyepistemic. The difference between the two systems is pragmatic. When a sentence is subjectively modalized, it means that the speaker wants to show hislher attitude towards the proposition. Thus, the sentence includes an expression of an opinion. An objectively modalized sentence is based on an evidence or fact that the speaker's opinion is based on. In this case, the sentence includes a factual statement. There are some restrictions on the use of modal verbs in the two systems. A modal verb with subjectively epistemic meaning cannot be put in a negative form. When a sentence with a modal verb with subjectively epistemic meaning does contain a negation, the negation is morphological. Modal verbs with objectively epistemic meaning can be negated. Then it is a negation ofthe sentence.

This evaluation is based on a metric system, which is defined as a part of this thesis as well. The evaluation result is then, apart from the quantitative quality interpretation of analyzed platform, included in a quality comparison (some areas) with BI platforms Oracle and Open Source Pentaho, whose evaluation and comparison have been made in diploma thesis [VÁLEK, 2008]. Guth, Karel ; Kopecká, Lenka (advisor) ; Soukup, Alexandr (referee)
The following thesis describes the importance of the central bank in the states economy and its position in the structure of the banking and financial system. It deals with its monetary policy and functions such as the role of the state bank, issuance activity or the regulation and supervision of commercial banks. The theoretical part is concluded by describing the Maastricht convergence criteria, which is built on in a questionnaire survey of the practical part. The practical part is divided into two sections. The first is focused on the exchange rate as a monetary tool of the Czech National Bank. It attempts to compare how successfully CNB has achieved its predictions from 2014 (the year when the foreign exchange interventions were initiated). The second section contains an interpretation of the results from the survey, with the aim of identifying the attitudes of Czech citizens towards adopting the euro currency. Subsequently, testing of a statistical hypothesis for contingency between selected issues was performed and connections within the columnar frequency of the contingency tables were observed and picked out.
