The statistical investigation of selected tasks in protection of the population in emergency planning zones of nuclear power plants
HAJÍČKOVÁ, Iva
The thesis deals with statistical investigation of selected tasks in population protection in emergency planning zones of nuclear power plants. The issues of population protection have been developing since 1930s up to now.Currently, the population protection is addressed particularly in concepts of population protection, while the most recent one is the Population Protection Concept until 2020 with an Outlook to 2030.The objective of the thesis was to compare awareness of the population in emergency planning zones of nuclear power plants. With regard to a potential extraordinary event,in this case a radiation accident, the awareness of the population plays a significant role. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes population protection, legal regulations and documents dealing with this topic. It also defines measures in population protection which seek to mitigate impact of extraordinary events or emergency situations on health and lives of the population, property and the environment. The thesis also mentions emergency planning and describes types of emergency plans. The second section of the theoretical part describes selected statistical methods. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes methods of multidimensional statistics. The following hypotheses and partial hypotheses were formulated in the research part of the thesis to meet its objective: H1 There is no statistically significant difference between the emergency planning zone of the nuclear power plant Temelín and the emergency planning zone of the nuclear power plant Dukovany.H11 There is no statistically significant difference in awareness among men about a potential extraordinary event at NPP Temelín and NPP Dukovany.H12 There is no statistically significant difference in awareness among women about a potential extraordinary event at NPP Temelín and NPP Dukovany. H2 The awareness of the population in emergency planning zones of both the nuclear power plants has a theoretical distribution which is close to the normal distribution.H21 The awareness of the population (men) in the emergency planning zone of NPP Temelín has a theoretical distribution which is close to the normal distribution.H22 The awareness of the population (women) in the emergency planning zone of NPP Temelín has a theoretical distribution which is close to the normal distribution.H23 The awareness of the population (men) in the emergency planning zone of NPP Dukovany has a theoretical distribution which is close to the normal distribution.H24 The awareness of the population (women) in the emergency planning zone of NPP Dukovany has a theoretical distribution which is close to the normal distribution. All the formulated hypotheses were tested with methods of descriptive and mathematical statistics. The research was conducted with questionnaires handed out in the emergency planning zones of NPP Temelín and NPP Dukovany. The questionnaire consisted of 23 questions and it was filled out by 242 men and 270 women in the zones. All data used in the research were provided to me within the project "Population protection depending of differentiation of the population" safety survey (VG20132015122) performed at the department of radiology, toxicology and population protection at the Faculty of Health and Social Studies at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice in cooperation with the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic. Results of the research have shown that the average awareness of the population living in the emergency planning zones of the nuclear power plants is less than 50% and that the knowledge of the population about a potential extraordinary event is not satisfactory. The population living in emergency planning zones of both the nuclear power plants could be exceptionally prepared for a potential non-standard situation, not only in the form of a Gauss curve.

Experiences with use of phytotherapy in the adult´s population in Pilsen and South Bohemian Regions
HRABOVSKÁ, Aneta
The aim of this Thesis was find out if adult population has experience with the use of medicinal plants, if people prefer local herbs to exotic plants, what is their knowledge in the preparation of herbal products and if they ever know what the herbs are and what is the meaning of the term Phytotherapy. Another aim was the creation of electronic manual of the most used herbs, which would include information on sellected medicinal plants and their effects on human body. In this thesis there are comprehensively summarized the theroetical and practical knowledge, which should be beneficial for general population. Research survey in the form of a questionnaire was focused on experience and utilization of herbal therapy in adult population. That was realized in South Bohemian and Pilsen Regions. Results of this work point out, that respondents still consider herbal medicine as an important supplement to classical medical treatment. On the basis of the research there were conclusion written and made the recommendation for practise.

Water regime of plants as a learning topic in inquiry-based education at grammar school
BEZPALCOVÁ, Eva
The aim of the diploma thesis was to create educational presentation for grammar school students according to the inquiry-based education principles and used in the classroom for teaching the thematic unit Water regime of plants, its application in teaching process and inclusion of inquiry-based education into plant physiology lessons at grammar school. A comparative survey which included 90 students was carried out in three first grade parallel classes. The level of students´knowledge was compared on a basis of the achievement test some students attended lessons including educational presentation completed with a worksheet, other students attended lessons providing the same topic in a way of frontal teaching and without the presentation. The goal of this research was to find out if inquiry-based education affects the level of acquired knowledge and if it leads to its permanent preservation. The results were statistically evaluated and clearly classified into tables and graphs.

Suggestions of science field trips to selected locations around Horažďovicce with using in teaching natural history at the 2nd primary school
ZÁBRANSKÁ, Věra
The main aim of this thesis is the suggestion of excursions into certain places in the region of Horažďovice for pupils from 6th to 9th grade at elementary school. The thesis is divided into the theoretical part and the part focused on preparation of these excursions. The theoretical part is concerned with plan and tuitional methods which are useful for preparation änd realization of the excursions. The second part is dedicated to the description of natural environment of the region of Horažďovice and particular localities. They consist of protected areas and nature reserves - Prácheň, Pučanka and Svaté Pole. Excursions are focused on processing of knowledge gained during natural science lessons and these localities were chosen thanks their various kinds of animals and plants.

How plants cope to stress: Odour (didactic work - basic school level)
NEJEDLÁ, Veronika
The purpose of this diploma work is preparation attractive working sheets, which approximate to the pupils of the primary school amusing form one actual ecological problem in the empire of the herbage. Working sheets are divided into four parts. Every part contains at first the theoretic pieces of knowledge and then their exercises. The theory includes the topic of vegetable essential oils and their tasks in vegetable stress. This subject is processed from the view to knowledge of the pupils from primary scholls. Contribution of working sheets is experimentally checked-out practically. By two sets of pupils is given test to check the level knowledge {--} by those, who working sheets worked up and to the control group of the pupils, who didn´t work with working sheets. Test results are compared.

Geothermal energy
Čápová, Lucie ; Kobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Datel, Josef (referee)
Geothermal energy is a perspective renewable source of energy. Its usage is undergoing vast development, focused especially on geothermal heat pumps and Enhanced Geothermal Systems. Basic information on the sources of Earth's heat, geological conditions and other factors influencing how geothermal energy may be exploited and processed, is presented in this paper. Various scientific papers and information resources of relevant companies have been investigated in order to obtain data on the usage of geothermal energy, focusing mainly on different types of thermal environment. One of the chief aims of this work was to provide examples of significant geothermal fields worldwide (Italy, New Zealand, USA, Philippines, Iceland, France), including specific information on each of the sites. In addition, the possibility of the use of geothermal energy in the Czech Republic has been discussed, based on the current knowledge of heat-flow density throughout the territory of the Czech Republic. As for this country, district heating in Děčín and a geothermal project in Litoměřice have been mentioned as examples. Keywords: geothermal energy, geothermal power plant, geothermal field
