BRIC - a group of special attention
Selezneva, Evgeniya ; Žamberský, Pavel (advisor) ; Suchá, Tereza (referee)
BRICs is an acronym for a group of four emerging countries: Brazil, Russia, India and China. The sequence of letters in the word is determined not only by harmony but also by the fact that the word BRIC in the English transcription is very similar to the word "brick". Members of BRICs are characterized as the most rapidly developing major countries. Advantageous position of these countries is ensured by a large number of important resources they possess: Brazil - agricultural products Russia - mineral resources India - cheap intellectual resources China - cheap labour force. In my work I want to focus mainly on two countries: Russia and China.

The WTO and RTAs: the relationship between multilateral and regional liberalization
Peřina, Matěj ; Cihelková, Eva (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
The thesis focuses on multilateralism and regionalism, these representing two mainstream approaches to world trade liberalization. While multilateral liberalization takes place in a single institution -- World Trade Organization, regionalism on the other hand is carried out by a growing number of RTAs. NAFTA being example of a complex one covers the whole area of North America and incorporates developing and developed countries. The contribution of multilateral liberalization to the world economy can be demonstrated by substantial tariff reductions and consequential rapid world trade and GDP growth. Currently is the liberalization in WTO inhibited because of the suspended Doha Development Agenda. The fact whether NAFTA is beneficial for its members or not stays rather controversial. Nevertheless NAFTA can provide faster progress in liberalization than WTO.

Public health insurance and its new legislative conception in the Czech legal order
Novotná, Lenka ; Císařová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Sovová, Olga (referee)
This thesis is focused on current public health insurance system in Czech Republic and its possible future changes according to the proposals of the present government. The term "public health insurance" does not necessarily imply that the system is administered by public body (or bodies); it rather refers to the fact that the health insurance scheme in Czech Republic is designed to be a social and mandatory system based on solidarity of insured and plurality of health insurers. All members of the system are regularly contributing according to their possibilities. Their contribution is monthly redistributed among health insurance companies according to the risk adjustment scheme. That ensures that the health insurers get more money for diseased insured and so they don't have motivation to risk selection. As a result, all diseased should be getting every health care they need. Such systems are also often called statutory health insurance schemes. Nowadays, Czech Republic faces several problems related to this area. Czech health insurers are owned neither by the state, nor by anyone else. That brings a lot of uncertainty into the system, because there is no one responsible for the economic results of health insurance companies. As a result of that, a huge amount of financial resources is spent needlessly. On...
