Testing the impact of quarterly results and analysts' expectations on prices of selected equities
Šoltés, Viktor ; Radová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Musílek, Petr (referee) ; Krabec, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of the article is to find the relationship between the growth and decline in the share price during the promulgation period of quarterly results of companies and surprise, either positive or negative in the quarterly results. Quarterly results are compared with the forecasts of analysts who publish their forecasts for quarterly results at Thomson Reuters. Relationship is confirmed statistically, where stock returns in the period is the dependent variable, independent variables are three -- return of the corresponding market index, excess impact -- measure of surprise in quarterly results in comparison with analysts' estimates and VIX index. Linear regression is used for testing of return and GARCH model is used for testing of volatility, there is focus on adaptation of actual volatility to the long-term average volatility after accidental shock.

Based on these interviews, together with the quantitative method of written inquiries, applied to a sample of potential future customers was created the SWOT analysis model for this emerging facility. These methods, along with the method of competition analysis using Porter's five forces model and PEST analysis of external influences, played a key role in shaping the actual marketing mix. Results: Researches in this work confirm that the target group of respondents is really interested in development of a new sport facility. The analysis in this work points to the potential threat that could threaten the implementation of the project. Thanks to these findings, it is possible to be prepared for these possible dangers and threats in time, or to try to prevent...

Řízení devizové expozice podniku
KRÁSNICKÁ, Martina
The first part of this dissertation, entitled Exchange Rate Exposure Management, addressed the question whether there has been a relationship between changes in exchange rate volatility and financial results of Czech enterprises and therefore foreign exchange exposure management is justified. For this purpose, the empirical data of revenues and exports and imports in CZ-NACE sections were used. Statistically significant results were demonstrated in the Section C - Manufacturing, where it was confirmed that profitability of sales declines with increasing volatility of the exchange rate. The nominal exchange rate CZK/EUR was taken into consideration, while a recent thesis (Klecka, 2016) showed that the use of another type of the exchange rate does not provide a statistically significant difference. In the second part a simple model called Estart was created in order to quantify the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate changes in the profitability of a company and thus in order to start with the management of the exchange rate exposure. The formula for calculating exchange rate exposure is simple and requires only a few inputs as company total revenues, total expenses, the percentage of revenues in foreign currency and the percentage of expenditure in foreign currency. In order to quantify the maximum impact recommended percentage variations dependent on the time horizon were determined from the historical data of the exchange rate CZK/EUR. The company then receives initial information about the maximum impact of unexpected exchange rate change on their profitability and hence for example the potential maximum amount that makes sense to invest in exchange rate hedging. The model is also suitable for calculating the maximum impact for the specific payables and receivables. The Model Estart is for its simplicity usable particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises, which currently begin to address the question of the impact of exchange rate change on their profitability for example because of announcements of Czech National Bank concerning the end of the intervention that has been depreciating domestic currency since 2013 and also the complicated situation in the Eurozone. The next necessary step is to use more sophisticated methods in accordance with the principles of foreign exchange rate exposure management in order to quantify the impact of unexpected changes in the exchange rate on the profitability, respectively on the value of the company, mainly because of the management of the operational exposure, which is crucial and which is not addressed by this simple model.

Cytomegalovirus infection in transplant patients
Dvořák, Jan ; Tachezy, Ruth (advisor) ; Harant, Karel (referee)
Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a ubiquitous human -herpesvirus highly prevalent in the population. HCMV is transmitted by close contact between individuals. In infected person this virus causes mainly asymptomatic primary infection, after which the latency is established. In pregnant women HCMV infection can lead to abortions, defects of the fetus and congenital abnormalities of newborn babies. Even more serious complications are caused by this virus in the immunocompromised patients, especially those infected by HIV and in patients who undergo solid organ transplantation and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. This work is a complex report about HCMV biology with emphasis on complications which HCMV causes in patients after solid organ transplantation and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. This article also contains summary of the methods used for diagnostic of HCMV infection and monitoring and prevention of HCMV associated diseases. Keywords: Cytomegalovirus, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, solid organ transplantation, detection, monitoring, polymerase chain reaction, cellular immunity, humoral immunity

Hodák, Július ; Těšínský, Pavel (advisor)
Diabetes mellitus presents complex problem that every doctor meets with during his practice regardless of his specialization. Acute complication can develop also during hospitalization, for example at surgery, neurology, psychiatry and others departments. We recognize two main groups within acute complications of diabetes mellitus, namely acute metabolic complications and hypoglycaemic syndrome connected with diabetes therapy. Three clinical units belong to acute metabolic complications. They covers diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar syndrome and laktat acidosis. Lactat acidosis and hyperglycaemic hyperosmolar syndrome are the most important from the view of mortality. Lactat acidosis are uncommon complications in Czech and Slovak republic. It especially appears at diabetics during therapy with biguanids. It can appear also when contraindications with metformin are not respected. The prevention also includes rational prescription of medicine, for example with respect to their possible interaction with sulfonylureo antidiabetics hypoglycemic influence and self - monitoring of glycaemia at home environment. It is necessary to respect contraindication of individual medicines and prevent polypragmazia. Every doctor, who takes care of diabetics, must find enough time to educate so important...

The Application of the HACCP System in the Company "MADETA a. s."
KAZILOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this work was to go thoroughly throw the already existing HACCP system in the company and to evaluate if the hazard is treated in a good way and to find other more effective approach to prevent the hazard. An effort was focused on the primary processing milk and on the process of the treatment of acidified milk products. While investigating current condition the author has made several experiments focusing on the settled conditions of important process in the production (for ex. pasteurization). Chemical, physical, qualitative and microbial properties were observed on a concrete diary product. The main investigation {--} the simulation of disturbance of the cooling chain - was performed where products were exposed to various temperatures for various time periods. During this test were observed: the temperature, pH and microbial changes in exposed products. Due to results form all observations that where performed in this research its possible to proclaim that the HACCP system is settled in a good way and even if above mentioned situation happen the product is safe.
