Utilization of the database applications in clinical research
Telička, Zdeněk ; Jiskra, Jan (advisor) ; Doležal, Tomáš (referee)
The Diploma Thesis "Utilization of database applications in clinical research" deals with development of client-server database application for 3rd Medical Department, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Application's aim is to store structured data of patients' examinations, treatments and biochemical results. Purpose of the application is to facilitate data processing for clinical research, which is very difficult, because information stored in hospital information system doesn't contain detailed records from medical examinations. Also, searching for several entries is slow. As well, application allows import patient identification data from hospital information system. This function provides physicians wide range of possibilities in data processing 4 and comparison in relation to treatments. Effective feature of this application is faster writing medical reports stored in information system because they are automatically generated from application's database.

Psychometric characteristics of Youth Self-Report in clinical sample
Urbánek, Tomáš ; Čermák, Ivo ; Štěpánek, Petr ; Schmidtová, Jana
The paper deals with reliability and validity analyses of the Youth Self-Report questionnaire by Thomas M. Achenbach. It is a method comprising eleven subscales, mostly syndromes of pathological conduct of children and adolescents. The data were obtained from the psychiatric patients (girls) from 12 to 18 years, most of them were exposed to family violence and abuse. Development and interrelationships of economic indicators
Klimentová, Veronika ; Löster, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
The present bachelor thesis focuses on development and interrelationships of selected economic indicators in the European Union -- gross domestic product, inflation rate, the amount of government debt and unemployment rate. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the definition and description of the selected indicators and the statistical methods that were used for analysis of these indicators. The main part is then focused on examining the link between the values of individual indicators and the gross domestic product by analysis of variance. It also deals with the analysis of development of the indicators. During the reporting period, it was especially in 2004 that the economic indicators were affected the most. In that year the European Union witnessed by far the biggest enlargement, which meant among other things opening the labour market. In some of the member states it lead to a significant decline in unemployment. It is also possible for virtually all the indicators to monitor the impact of the economic crisis. In most states, for example, there was an increase in unemployment rate or a reduction in gross domestic product.

The basis for price example is a price list of ČEZ, a.s., for analysis of eclectic energy production will be used The Annual report of the CZ ES operation 2013.

The influence of spinal patients regular training in Locomat System on chosentime and space parametres of their walk
Strnadová, Helena ; Oplatková, Lenka (advisor) ; Strapková, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis "Influence of regular training of spinal cord patients in Lokomat system on particular spatio-temporal parameters of their walk." is a theoretical-empirical case report. Theoretical part deals with the neuroanatomy of the spinal cord, control, analysis and possibilities of check up of physiological walk. This part is concluded by the summary of entries about the Lokomat system, its basic technical equipment, advantages / disadvantages, indications/ contra-indications of its use in practice. The empirical part deals with the examination of the influence of the training in Lokomat system on the walk of the patients with incomplete spinal cord lesion. The main subject of the research is to monitor the changes in particular spatio-temporal parameters of walk (gait speed, stride length, stride time, single support time). Výroba mřížek s dlouhou periodou v optických vláknech pomocí záření CO.sub.2./sub. laserového paprsku
Císařovský, P. ; Dunovský, J. ; Kolařík, L. ; Todorov, Filip ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Berková, Daniela ; Vrbová, M. ; Jančárek, A.
Inscription of the LPGs by a focused CO.sub.2./sub. laser beam in step-index fibers is reported. The transmission spectra of the LPGs fabricated in optical fibers drawn at 1880.sup.o./sup.C and 1930.sup.o./sup.C. under several inscription conditions are shown. The results indicate strong dependence of the LPG spectra on the conditions of the fiber drawing process and of the LPG fabrication. The first results of the preparation of a new type of a graded-index fiber for the LPG fabrication are reported too.

Transient and Average Markov Reward Chains with Applications to Finance
Sladký, Karel
The article is devoted to Markov reward chains, in particular, attention is primarily focused on the reward variance arising by summation of generated rewards. Explicit formulae for calculating the variances for transient and average models are reported along with sketches of algorithmic procedures for finding policies guaranteeing minimal variance in the class of policies with a given transient or average reward. Application of the obtained results to financial models is indicated.
