Professional foster care - new alternative to the institutional care in Czech Republic

This diploma work with the theme of substitutional children's care in the context of actual situation in the Czech Republic when the care of endangered and abandoned children is mostly and practically solved by the inconvenient form of institutional education. This is the reason why in the introductory chapters there is mentioned the theme of family and its importace for satisfiing chldren's needs ; family and parental disorders; mental deprivation and subdeprivation in childhood and its prevention. In the part dedicated to substitutional children's care there are mentioned the most important problems of institutional education . There are also characterized different types of substitutional children's care which are currently being used in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, this work deals in a more detailed way with foster care from the point of view of traditional model currently being applied in the Czech Republic and with modern approach to foster care, also called professional foster care. Ethnic identity of a gypsy child in an adoptive family

The graduation thesis treats of the theme of ethnic identity of a Gypsy child in an adoptive family. The theoretical part of the thesis outlines the history of Czech Romanies and the framework of adoptive and foster care in the Czech Republic. The main chapter of the theoretical part discuss the question of identity, particularly ethnic identity and its formation. The empirical part discuss a research on formation of ethnic identity of an Gypsy Child in an adoptive family, realized by a questionnaire examination of adoptive and foster parents. The research consider the problems of the diversity of gypsy children, their origin or the importance of a contact with the original Gypsy community. One of the referenced questions is also the influence of racism upon the formation of ethnic identity.

Substitute Family Care in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of substitute family care in the Czech Republic. This thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part is concerned with a historical overview; it focuses especially on the Roman private law. The second chapter provides a brief explanation of basic terms. Foremost the relationship between parents and children is defined. In the third chapter, substitute family care is mentioned and mainly adoption, which is the most ideal form of substitute family care, is discussed. To make a comparison, I also mention foster care and institutional education. The practical part consists of three topisc. Firstly, an analysis of the survey, secondly an analysis of an interview with a social worker and finally there is a comparison of the two institutions - Klokánek v Janovicích nad Úhlavou and Dětský domov Staňkov.

Comparative analysis of the foster care system in the Czech Republic and Denmark in 2015

The subject of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the system of foster care in the Czech Republic and identify areas for potential improvement on the basis of comparison with the foster care system in Denmark. Firstly, this thesis deals with the historical development of foster care systems in mentioned countries and their social background. Furthermore, this thesis compares systems of foster care in several aspects. Comparison shows that there is more power left to the non-state actors in the area of foster care in Denmark. Denmark also has more types of foster care and spends more money on this area. Denmark, in comparison with the Czech Republic is characterized by individual approach in determining the level of foster care and greater variability of individual contributions. Based on this comparison there are suggested improvements for the Czech Republic.

Options adoption in the Czech Republic and child adaptation to society

Bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of adoption in the Czech Republic and the child's integration into the new family and society. Theoretical bases closer to mastering the development from a historical perspective, kinds of adoption in the Czech Republic and the conditions for successful adoptions. The author introduces the reader to the actual course of the adoption process, described in various stages of the request for mediation to establish contact with the child. Thesis introduces the reader in foster care together with creation, types and financial aspects. Attention is focused on the amendment that gave priority to family care over institutional. The practical part evaluates the amendment, which occurred in the area of adoption 1. 1. 2014. It also describes the early days of the adopted child in the new family. It acquaints readers with the problems that foster parents frequently addressed in the child's adaptation to society. Target of this thesis is to evaluate the amendments that have occurred in the area of adoption 1. 1. 2014. Based on the responses to assess whether the amendments were a step in mastering good or bad. Any proposing other changes that would streamline the process of adoption. Analyze the process of integrating the child into society. Specify on what grounds can a child develop a sense of deprivation and negative behaviors that cause complex adaptation to the collective.

Care of children growing up outside of the natural family environment as an activity of non-profit organisations in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the issue of vulnerable children. This topic is very current as a legal reform on social and legal protection of children was adopted in 2013 promoting the development of children in a family environment by professionalization of the foster care. The reform should help reduce the number of children in institutional care, as the Czech Republic ranks at the top of the list while assigning children into institutions, compared to other developed countries in the European Union. The aim of this work is to analyze the funding of foster care and care of children in orphanages by government and by private incomes. The theoretical part describes the state social policy concerning the care of vulnerable children and describes the types of non-profit organizations working in this area. The practical part analyzes and compares the types of the care of vulnerable children in terms of institutional arrangements and financing. The thesis also examines what the costs are for both a child in foster care and a child placed in orphanages.

The human rights of children living in families and children in foster care in accordance

This thesis deals with the human rights of children living in families and children in foster education accordance with the legislation in the Czech Republic. In this thesis I present the structure and evolution of socio-legal protection of children and the laws that govern it. In this thesis my aim was to make comparison with selected European states and the countries of the European Union and propose recommendations de lege ferenda protection of human rights of children in accordance with Czech law and in accordance with international legal standards. To achieve this, I used the analysis of these documents. Based on the comparison and based on the data have been proposed recommendations leading to the observance and respect for the rights of children in the Czech Republic.
