Řehůřková, Markéta ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Maršáková, Kateřina (referee)
Title: The effect of sensomotoric stimulation on flat foot of children Introduction: Flat foot is a common health problem in childhood. Its development is related to congenital or acquired dysfunction of the plantar vault. There is no single opinion on the criteria for diagnosis and therapy forms. The aftereffects and health risks of flat foot are often neglected. The therapy form of sensomotoric stimulation, including balance exercises and walking barefoot over different surfaces, could be an appropriate part of the physical activities and games for children in kindergarten. Objectives: The main objective of this thesis was to compare foot prints of a group of children from one kindergarten class before and after six months of sensomotoric stimulation by three different methods (the Chippaux-Šmiřák method, the Godunov-Sztriter method and the Mayer method.). The second objective was to determine at what age category will be the highest prevalence of flat feet and also at what age group is the biggest improvement of the foot arch. The third objective was to compare each other method and determine whether the results will match. Hypothesis 1: After six months of sensomotoric stimulation of the feet of children occurs in the majority of feet of probands the improvement of the longitudinal foot arch...

Objectivization of a postural mechanism in patients with a spinal cord injury
Mirská, Eliška ; Vacek, Jan (advisor) ; Mende, Karel (referee)
It is important to maintain a posture via equilibrial and protective reactions in all activities of daily living. There is normal neurological finding in upper extremities in patients with a spinal cord injuries in the area from Th1 to Th7, muscles of the thorax are paralysed under the level of the lesion and when there is a complete2 damage of the upper pectoral spinal cord, abdominal muscles are always paralysed. There is an important part in a therapy of patients with a spinal cord lesion, which consists of an activation of the postural system by means of sensomotory stimulation exercise according to Janda called sitting on a cylinder. The aim of this study is to objectively evaluate the impact of the exercise on a cylinder on postural system of patients with lesion of postural muscles. Surface electromyography was chosen as the most suitable objective method . Special set of testing movements on a deckchair or on a cylinder was created. Selected patients were tested by exercises on a deckchair or on a cylinder before a stay in the centre. After a ten-day stay the patients are tested by the same set of exercises and evaluation of their muscular activities is performed. Results of our measurement lead to a conclusion, that sensomotory stimulation is valuable part of kinesiotherapy in patients with SCI in...

Orofacial Stimulation for People with Cerebral Diseases
Brůhová, Zuzana ; Matolínová, Vendula (advisor) ; Stančáková, Zuzana (referee)
Communication is an importatnt ability for establishing social relations which are precondition for the establishment of comunity, civilization or culture. With the fine richly innervated muscel of the face we are able to alter our expression by a wide variety of very small movements. Together with movement of the head, facial expression is a prime communicator. We use both constantly to support what we are saying or to replace speech together at certain times. Through minute changes we can express pleasure, disbelief, love, disapproval etc. Graduation theses is focused at the method of orofacial stimulation used in physiotheraphy. In the theoretical part are analysed the deseases with problems in the area of the face and mouth. Next we can find character of individual methods using in fhysiotheraphy. In the practical part we use informations from the theoretical part. The method of orofacial stimulation was applicated and used for people with cerebral diseases and the efficiency of this method was found out.

Using the activation enrichment Lynx (Lynx lynx) in zoo Ohrada, Hluboká nad Vltavou.
FRÖHLICH, Marek
Environmental enrichment helps to improve the environmental complexity of animals kept in captivity, it supports animals comfort, stimulates active behaviour and reduces stereotypical behaviour to which predators incline. The work was carried out at The Ohrada zoo in the city of Hluboká nad Vltavou. A couple of Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) was the research subject. The aim of the work was to evaluate and compare the control observation with the lynx?s behaviour when they were stimulated by enrichment. Enrichment should have stimulted animals to behave actively.

The influence of therapy by Vojta reflex locomotion method on functional abilities of immobile seniors
Černá, Gabriela ; Smékal, David (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
This project assesses effects of four -week active rehabilitation combined with Vojta reflex stimulation on mobility of bed-bound seniors. Sixteen female patients were divided into two groups of eight members, i.e. tested group and control group. Both groups were put through training focused on self-support, maintaining or enhancement of range of movement, strengthening of weak muscle groups, stability training, practicing sitting up and lying down from sitting position, and walking in the high walking frame in the case of stronger patients. Besides that the tested group underwent Vojta reflex stimulation (global model of reflex turning), coordination and stability exercise and exercise with rehabilitation tools (elastic band, over ball, small ball, water bottle). In the beginning and in the end of the project the EMS (Elderly Mobility Scale), BI (Barthel Index), and MMSE (Mini-mental State Examination) scales were tested as well as ability to turn from back to side and stability in the sitting position. Statistical comparability of both groups was proved true in the beginning of the therapy by Mann-Whitney test. There was a noticeable tendency towards higher probability of enhancing measured scores in the tested group compared to the control group after the therapy. In case of the EMS this probability was...

The use of agonist of phagocytic receptors for cancer therapy and the study of the possibility to increase their effect by stimulation of TLR receptors
VÁCOVÁ, Nikol
Binding of agonist of phagocytic receptors on surface of tumor cells caused significant reduction of tumor growth. This reduction was enhanced by stimulation of TLR receptors. This immunotherapy combines ligation of phagocytic receptors and signaling receptors to achieve anti-tumor effect. The next part of this thesis was focused on the study of mechanism of the anti-tumor activity of neutrophils.

The Result of High Dose Therapy with Peripheral Blood Stemm Cells (PBCs) Support at Patients with Multiple Myeloma
Mecl, Jan ; Špička, Ivan (referee) ; Kořen, Jan (advisor)
The submitted thesis is based on comparison of therapeutical effectivity of two different methods using in multiple myeloma patients for therapy. The best therapy seems to be single or tandem autologous stem cell transplantation ASCT with stimulation and separation of periferal blood stem cells (PBSCs). The stimulation could be done by CFA (cyclofosfamid) or cytostatik combinaňtion, e.g. IVE (ifosfamide, vepeside, epirubicine) in combination with G - CSF (granulocyte - colony - stimulating factor). The question which is not answered is which one of those methods is more effective. And which one of single or tandem ASCT is more profitable if any. The goal of the study is to compare two different methods of stimulation and separation of PBSCs (CFA and IVE). I compare the effectivity from a viewpoint of breeding PBSCs and also time consuming of the separation meňthods. Nobody has done this comparison before us. To separate PBSCs was used COBE Spectra apheresis systém. Spectra is efficient to separate the whole blood into its components. The group for my study were 167 patients with Multiple Myeloma. Part was stimulated with CFA the other part with IVE. In every one of those groups we compare the number of PBSCs represent by CD34+ cells, type and period of several separation methods and also differences between...

Physical therapy facilities in Down syndrome
ŠULOVÁ, Eva
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of influencing locomotor skills of children with Down syndrome by physiotherapy. In the theoretical part two key phenomena involved in the postural behavior of these persons are mentioned, which are low muscle tone (hypotonia) and laxicita ligament, caused by the presence of abnormal collagen type VI. These two genetically conditioned phenomena, according to the cited literature, are associated with impaired muscle cocontraction, with inadequate equilibrium reactions and faulty proprioceptive feedback for posture and locomotion. The research group consisted of three children of preschool and younger school age diagnosed with Down syndrome. Using the qualitative research method, information obtained from medical history and kinesiologic examination were recorded. In all 3 patients, poor posture was described, deficit of postural stability in upright standing, dynamic balance and deep and superficial sensation deficits were found. Therefore the therapy included elements of exercise in developmental series, sensomotoric exercises and equilibrium reactions training, exercises on a ball, working with physical schema, proprioceptive and exteroceptive stimulations, exercises to promote psychomotor development (exercise to music, according to pictures of animals), functional taping and breathing exercises. After completion of three-month individual therapy, postural stability in upright posture (in 1 patient), dynamic balance (in 3 patients), the quality of step cycle (in 2 patients) and the quality of posture (in 3 patients) were affected. In all the children the postural finding was affected by the change of the function of lower blade fixators. The therapy was limited by a lower level of cooperation caused by the mental handicap of children with DS. In this study, the positive effect of physiotherapy in the mentioned qualities on postural and locomotion skills in children with Down syndrome has been proved.

Mašindová, Jana ; Náhlá, Jana (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
Full name: Jana Mašindová Supervisor: Mgr. Jana Náhlá Proposal for creation Snoezelen room in a geriatric centre Snoezelen therapy is carried out in a specially adapted room. It is a room equipped with a device that stimulates all human senses. Snoezelen room offers visitors opportunity to experience understanding, interaction and relaxation. Visitors are not forced to do activities; on the contrary, they may apply their own will and practise everything they like and what is enjoyable for them. The Bachelor thesis focuses on the use of Snoezelen room for geriatric clients. There are plenty of workplaces for child clients in the Czech Republic that tend to use Snoezelen room. However, there are only few workplaces dealing with Snoezelen for geriatric population, even though the method is utilized by this clientele abroad pretty often. The theoretical part of this paper summarises the area of Snoezelen and dementi, which abounds in old age quite frequently, as well. Moreover this section describes basal stimulation, which has extensive effect on people suffering from dementia and last but not least a link between the Snoezelen room and basal stimulation is mentioned here. The practical part analyses contemporary state and evaluates answers to the question: "How can a Snoezelen room be arranged and...
