The Issue of small recording Studios in the Czech Republic

Abstract The thesis presents an issue of small recording studios focused on music recording in the Czech Republic. It is a modern and fast-growing area of sound studios that has never been seriously described before. The first part describes small recording studios, reasons of their founding, differences between small and large studios. The second part is focused on compiling and evaluating of collected data acquired by personal visitation of those studios. It describes often problems, offered services, equipment and expertise of their owners. The data were collected during personal visitation of all recording studios mentioned in this thesis. In the end, the thesis presents the virtual model of statistically average small private recording studio in the Czech Republic.

Music therapy. Music as the medicine for our spirit

This work introduces to readers a field of music therapy. At first point it's dealing with the begining and need of music sense as well as historic development. In addition to this it's focused on music therapy as a field of science and organisation structure in the Czech republic and abroad. Opinions of classical and alternative experts are compared. Music treatment is described in detail in particular branches of psychosomatics. In conclusion, the work points to positive and negative ways of music influence.

Viktor Kalabis's Inheritance in the Czech Museum of Music

The first part of the diploma thesis deals with the musical bequest of Viktor Kalabis kept in the Czech Museum of Music and identifies several areas of interest that ensue from this bequest. The objective is to inform of the state and the extent of this bequest and to solve problems related to these sources. The second part of the thesis is an analytical probe into the composer's early and later creative output on the basis of his three piano sonatas the sources of which form part of the bequest. My aim is to characterize the shift in Kalabis's approach to piano sonata as a classical genre of chamber music, and especially in his take on the sonata form. The final part of the diploma thesis presents the catalogue of Kalabis's music bequest in the Czech Museum of Music and contains a detailed description of the individual sources. Lubomír Malý and the Czech Contemporary Viola Music (1960 - 1990)

Lubomír Malý was a revolutionary who changed the world's understanding about the viola and violist in chamber music. He was an outstanding violist in two ways, as a soloist and as a violist in the string quartet. He brings his Bohemian heart to the world. In this way he advanced Czech music and compositions and influenced world music also.

Euroindians: Models life

My work has focused on the Czech Euroindians history of their origin, what it means to be "Euroindian" and how they themselves understand their way of life models. The aim was to find the identity of the Czech Euroindian in modern Czech society. The work deals with the spiritual culture and the implementation of some of the most characteristic of Indian's ceremonies, habits when camping (spring, summer, autumn, winter) as the teepee construction and compliance with the label inside the teepee, cooking, playing the most typical Indian's games, music and singing and other joint events (Pow wow General Assembly, etc.) and their connection with modern life in Czech society. My work is theoretical and empirical. I base it on the method of qualitative research. I use literary sources, Internet resources, personal communication and e-mails with Czech Euroindians and unstructured interviews with Czech Euroindians. Valuable sources of information were also in journals Buffalo wind, Wampum Neskenonu magazine and the Tramp. The Bachelor's Thesis is concerned with Web 2.0 phenomenon. It defines meaning of this phenomenon and submits its features and characteristics : change in comunication system, freedom of content editing, content created mostly by its users, reputation systems, conversions of desktop applications to web services. It concentrates on technology background of web services, particularly AJAX, Adobe Flex, Silverlight. It focuses on designs, that were starting point for Web 2.0 and uses them to show principles of the whole concept. Selected designs examples were : community servers MySpace and Facebook, search engine Google with its additional services, video sharing server Youtube, bookmark server del.icio.us, content sharing server digg.com, the free encyclopedia Wikipedia, personalised internet radio and music encyclopedia last.fm. The work continues by describing current situation in the Czech Republic. In the end the paper summarizes and answers the basic questions asked in the introduction and mentions major obstacles of current development together with their possible solutions.

The poetry in Czech sign language

The theme of this bachelor's work is analysis of the poetry in czech sign language (ČZJ). It can be useful for linguists who are concerned with czech sign language but also for the general public. This work is supporting the fact that czech sign language is a real language as the spoken language is, because of the evidence of art signing, especially the existence of the poetry in czech sign language. The aim of this bachelor's work is also to overcome the prejudice against czech sign language that are still existing till nowadays. Examples of sign language poetry can be seen on DVD which is attached to this work. The author of this bachelor's work discusses the question of the production the poetry in czech sign language and tries to compare it with the production of spoken language poetry (in its oral and also in the written form); explains the history of czech sign language poetry and the foreign sign language poetry. In this bachelor's work is also a short chapter that concerns of the comparation between the music, poetry and strorytelling. The main part of the work is characteristics of the sign language poetry and its dividing into the general types.
