The structural and the fundamental mechanical properties of intermatallics on the base of TiAl
Krahula, Karel ; Dlouhý, Ivo
Gamma TiAl alloys are emerging as a pervasive structural material. Remarkable progresses have been made through refining lamellar microstructure and grains, microalloying, chemistry modification, process development and/or their combination. The main thrust was to enhance resistance to creep deformation, oxidation and high cycle fatigue deformation/failure. Less or even no knowledge have been obtained in the field of the intermetalics fracture at uniaxial or bending loading, there are missing data about their behaviour at the presence of cracks and other defects. The reason is simply in the other properties that are key from application point of view. Due to their brittleness at temperature close to room temperature the investigation of the intermetalics fracture is complicated but promissible provided it bring ideas for the further development of the alloying and microstructure. The paper is focused on the first steps in this field.

Influence of a particullar heat on properties and structure of duplex steel welded joint
Němec, Karel ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
The research project is focused on an influence of a particullar heat on properties and structure of duplex steel DIN 1.4462. Samples prepared by using different welding speeds 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 cm.min-1, were tested for tensile, metalographical analysis and hardness test. Experimental results proved the optimal welding speed for material with 2 mm thickness to be 15 cm.min-1. Usage of lower speed 10 cm.min-1 led to formation of hot cracks while higher speeds 20, 25, 30 cm.min-1 didn‘t cause material penetration.

Vodní a hybridní plazmatrony s plynovou a vodní stabilizací
Hrabovský, Milan
Plasma torches with water-stabilized arc (Gerdien arc) are utilized in plasma processing for specific applications. In water-stabilized torches an oxygen-hydrogen plasma jet is produced. The torches are characterized by very low mass flow rates and high power. Plasma enthalpy is thus several times higher than enthalpy of plasmas generated in gas-stabilized torches. High enthalpy is accompanied by very low plasma density. Also other plasma parameters substantially differ from the ones in gas torches. New type of plasma torch with combined stabilization of an electric arc by water vortex and gas flow was investigated. This hybrid water/gas stabilization offers possibility of adjustment of plasma jet parameters in a wide range from high enthalpy, low density plasmas typical for liquid stabilized torches to lower enthalpy, higher density plasmas generated in gas stabilized torches.

Preparation and properties of pyroelectric detectors for optoelectronic applications /III/
Novotný, Jan ; Zelinka, Jiří ; Podvalová, Zdislava ; Malina, Václav ; Vávra, Vladimír ; Franc, J. ; Fronc, Václav ; Fronc, Václav
The single crystals of TGS doped with Pt-ions and with L-alanine were grown as in ferroelectric phase as the full-shaped crystals. The growth rate along the axis c of the doped crystals is much higher than in an undoped one. Morphology, domain structure and hysteresis loops were investgated. The effect of the dopant on the growth velocity is explained on the basis of catalytic action of platinum complexes. The pyroelectric detectors were prepared from these materials and their parameters are presented.

Technology of preparation of doped single crystals of triglycine sulphate for application in optoelectronics is described. Internal report contains also technology of preparation of simple pyroelectric detectors which operate in infrared region, wavelengths 2-25ćm. Measurement methods for infrared detectors and their basic technical parameters are presented. The prepared infrared detectors operate as non-cooling elements with hybrid high impedance amplifier.

The photodetectors operating in the 0.8-20ćm wavelength region have been prepared. The report is devoted to the research and realisation of novel types of materials on the basis TGS single crystals family. The prepared detectors have been tested in static and dynamical regime of operation. The obtained results have been passed on TESLA BLATNÁ Company.

Evaluation of mechanical and structural properties of new block
Lefner, Jiří ; Nová, Iva (referee) ; Čech, Jaroslav (advisor)
The purpose of this dilploma thesis is to evaluate mechanical and structural properties of two types casts of Al-alloy (components of the engine block) which were made by different technologies. Die casting with local squeeze casting and without local squeeze casting. First of them is used in lot manufacture of the current engine block. The aim of the foundry is to change the technology and start to produce new block by the die casting without local squeeze casting. The samples were taken from the both parts (lower and upper part) of the current and the new engine block which are made in foundry of Skoda Auto a.c. in Mladá Boleslav. Sets of mechanical and structural properties were selected, evaluated and tested by statistical programs. It was used fifty casts of the engine blocks for the experiment.

Effect of pH of mixing water on hydration and mechanical properties of cement composites.
Bezděk, Ondřej ; Krátký, Josef (referee) ; Šiler, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the effect of mixing water pH value on hydration and mechanical properties of cement composites based on portland cement. Source material was CEM I 42,5 R. Hydration process was analyzed by isoperibolic calorimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis and differential thermal analysis. Compressive and flexural strength was examined as mechanical properties. The samples microstructure was observed by scanning electron microscopy. Influence of mixing water pH value on flexural and compressive strength, retardation of hydration and ratio of individual phases was shown.

Laminated Ceramic Composites - Deposition, Structure and Properties
Drdlík, Daniel ; Maca, Karel (referee) ; Cihlář, Jaroslav (advisor)
The work was focused on the preparation of layered ceramic materials and their characterizations. The direct measurment of weight deposite for enhanced description of one component system was studied within this work. The kinetics of electrophoretic deposition obtained from theoretical calculation and from experimental values were confronted. It was prepared a lot of depositions for described kinetic of electrophoretic deposition with applied constant currents. The relative density and porosity were determined on the annealled and sintered bodies. The hardness measurments were performed on sintered bodies and then resulted values were confronted with the used currents. A ceramic composite based on Al2O3 and ZrO2 was prepared by using of precision describtion of electrophoretic deposition kinetic.
