Physiotherapy after total hip joint replacement
ŠUHÁJKOVÁ, Pavla
Pain in a hip joint can dramatically affect the chance of having active life. The recent years have seen a significant progress in the results achieved while implanting artificial hip joints. This type of operation is simultaneously becoming increasingly more often especially when we take into consideration the increasing age of population. Implanting total hip joint replacement results in improving the quality of life, which can only be achieved through interdisciplinary collaboration of doctors, complex rehabilitation treatment, and positive approach of the subject alone. The aim of this bachelor?s thesis was to process case reports of patients after total hip joint replacements and to put together rehabilitation plans for these subjects. With the established objective in mind, the author summarizes outcomes dealing with the issues relating to total hip joint replacement, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and spa treatment following such operation. The research part of the bachelor?s thesis was accomplished by qualitative research. Data were collected by observing, interviewing and analysing documents. The data were gathered by individual in-depth interview and using case reports, which included author?s own observations, a draft of rehabilitation plan and implementation of the therapy, and subsequent outcomes from the assessment of therapy. The research corpus comprised of two patients who underwent a planned total hip joint replacement because they had been suffering from advanced primary coxarthrosis. The research was carried out at an in-patient orthopaedic department of the Hospital Pelhřimov in March 2011, when the subjects were being hospitalised. Quality and appropriately managed rehabilitation allows quicker improvement in the patient?s health following the operation. It is used as a prevention of complications, it improves engagement of functional potential in the operated joint and it consolidates appropriate motion stereotypes. The outcomes of the research confirm that such pre-operational and post-operational rehabilitation carried out during the stay in hospital leads to a decrease or complete removal of pain, an increase in joint?s mobility and muscular power, getting used to walking on flat surfaces and up and down staircases, and the level of independency in everyday activities.

An accounting representation of foreign currency operations in the tourist industry area
Křivánková, Jana ; Procházka, David (advisor) ; Roubíčková, Jaroslava (referee)
The main goal of this bachelors thesis is to represent foreign currency operations and rate differences according to the Czech legislation in contrast with International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS/IAS while directing at the tourist industry area. The first part of this work covers the introduction into the tourist industry area and its history in the Czech Republic including factual information. The introducing part is followed by theoretical definition of the Czech legislation in comparison with International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS/IAS, both focusing on foreign currency. Several particular examples are represented subsequently in each chapter. The conclusion of this thesis is dedicated to the comparison between both aforementioned systems and different possible consequences in final accounts.

The possibilities of use of the robotic system da Vinci for treatment of localized prostate tumor
Podzimek, Michal ; Kočárek, Jiří (advisor) ; Kolombo, Ivan (referee)
Cancer of prostate is the most frequent male malignity and also it is the second most common cause of death in Europe and in the USA. There are 2 228 new cases reported in the Czech republic per year. The probability of occurrence of this disease is one to six during whole life. There is a good success in detection of his disease in the early stage due to development of screening methods. In such case the radical prostatectomy is very successful method of treatment. Besides of operation methods like open radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic prostatectomy there is a new operation method using robotic system da Vinci. The aim of this machine is to bring the advantages of the miniinvasive surgery together with keeping intuitive handling like in open surgery. First da Vinci system was bought and installed in the Central military hospital in Prague, Czech republic in 2005. The common knowledge about using this method is very low in both general public and specialists. Nor patients, neither their doctors often know about possibility of surgery using da Vinci system. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate almost three years of experience of treatment localized prostate tumor using da Vinci system, and to describe its possibilities, benefits and disadvantages. Collection of 255 patients files aged...

Utilization of the database applications in clinical research
Telička, Zdeněk ; Jiskra, Jan (advisor) ; Doležal, Tomáš (referee)
The Diploma Thesis "Utilization of database applications in clinical research" deals with development of client-server database application for 3rd Medical Department, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Application's aim is to store structured data of patients' examinations, treatments and biochemical results. Purpose of the application is to facilitate data processing for clinical research, which is very difficult, because information stored in hospital information system doesn't contain detailed records from medical examinations. Also, searching for several entries is slow. As well, application allows import patient identification data from hospital information system. This function provides physicians wide range of possibilities in data processing 4 and comparison in relation to treatments. Effective feature of this application is faster writing medical reports stored in information system because they are automatically generated from application's database.

Psychometric characteristics of Youth Self-Report in clinical sample
Urbánek, Tomáš ; Čermák, Ivo ; Štěpánek, Petr ; Schmidtová, Jana
The paper deals with reliability and validity analyses of the Youth Self-Report questionnaire by Thomas M. Achenbach. It is a method comprising eleven subscales, mostly syndromes of pathological conduct of children and adolescents. The data were obtained from the psychiatric patients (girls) from 12 to 18 years, most of them were exposed to family violence and abuse. The analyses of internal consistency and correlation analyses supporting the empirical validity of scales were conducted.

Carpal tunnel syndrome in spinal patients

The influence of spinal patients regular training in Locomat System on chosentime and space parametres of their walk
Strnadová, Helena ; Oplatková, Lenka (advisor) ; Strapková, Zuzana (referee)
Diploma thesis "Influence of regular training of spinal cord patients in Lokomat system on particular spatio-temporal parameters of their walk." is a theoretical-empirical case report. Theoretical part deals with the neuroanatomy of the spinal cord, control, analysis and possibilities of check up of physiological walk. This part is concluded by the summary of entries about the Lokomat system, its basic technical equipment, advantages / disadvantages, indications/ contra-indications of its use in practice. The empirical part deals with the examination of the influence of the training in Lokomat system on the walk of the patients with incomplete spinal cord lesion. The main subject of the research is to monitor the changes in particular spatio-temporal parameters of walk (gait speed, stride length, stride time, single support time). Design of heat pump.
Nečas, Martin ; Karásek, David (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is the design of an air-water heat pump for heating buildings. The proposed design solution is based on innovative technical concept of a modular system which brings new qualities for the apparatus. One of the major goals of the thesis was to design a versatile system which would replace a wide product range of heat pumps with different heat outputs. The thesis is based on the research part in which an evolution in the field of heat pumps is briefly introduced, followed by the technical and design analysis of present production. The design report contains the description of identified design problems, shows variant design concepts, alternative solutions of parts and details, and finally a detailed description of the definite solution accompanied by a product mock-up in 1:3 scale.
