Implementation of Elements of the Code of Ethics for Nurses and Patients' Rights in Practice

The thesis on the topic "Implementation of Elements of the Code of Ethics for Nurses and Patients' Rights in Practice" has the characteristics of a research. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. There were four objectives in the practical part of the thesis, the purpose of which was to determine the following: whether patients receive enough understandable information about the diagnostic, therapeutic and nursing care from doctors and nurses, whether intimacy and patients´ feelings of embarrassment are being respected by doctors and nurses, whether patients have the space to voice their views and decisions for therapeutic, diagnostic and nursing care, and whether patients perceive the approach of medical staff to other patients as dignified.

Stress-strain analysis of arterial aneurysms

The diploma thesis is focused on the creation of the aneurysm finite element model and the making of the aneurysm wall stess-strain analysis using ANSYS software. The model of abdominal aortic aneurysm geometry starts from the CT scan of the particular patient. In the thesis there are compared two chosen constitutive models, each of them appears from different mechanical tests done on human arterial fibre samples. Furthermore, a limiting condition for aneurysm wall structure damage is expressed. On the basis of the results of stress calculation in the aneurysm wall and the limiting condition, the safety coefficient and rupture factors risk are worked out.

Computer Generated Holograms

The presented Diploma thesis deals with the computer-generated diffractive structures or rather called computer generated holograms (CGH). We follow basic principles of classical holography and in the context of which we define a synthetic holography. We then show various types of digital holograms and methods of measurement of their quality. We deal with several iterative algorithms useful for computation of the Fourier transform as well as with methods of phase quantization. In the second part of the work, we describe briefly our computer code for iterative Fourier transform computation. With respect to the mentioned techniques, we further present the usability of the method for design of computer generated holograms in reflection regime. After a short introduction to the electron beam lithography and its exploitation for the origination of computer generated diffractive optical elements. We analyze reconstructions of produced holograms and evaluate its quality.

Diet of patients with ulcerative colitis

This bachelor thesis deals with ulcerative colitis as well as with the impact of such a disease on patient's diet. The aim of this thesis is to describe the composition of the diet of patients with ulcerative colitis. The following research questions are defined: "How do the patients follow the principles of a proper diet in this disease?", "What foods do the patients tend to avoid most often?" and "What is the experience of selected patients with a nutritional therapist?" At first, this bachelor thesis summarizes theoretical knowledge of the current status, incidence, diagnostics, causes and the course of the disease. Other chapters deal with symptoms of ulcerative colitis which is not just a matter of the digestive tract. This is followed by the extraintestinal complications that are related to the disease. The nutritional status of patients is also mentioned here. Last but not least, this work describes the diet plan of patients. To achieve the goal of this thesis, quantitative and qualitative researches are selected. The quantitative research is conducted using questionnaires which were distributed to patients of the Clinical Centre ISCARE I.V.F a.s., that is under the leadership of a head of the department, Prof. MUDr. Milan Lukáš, CSc. The survey results are presented in the form of graphs. The qualitative research is carried out through the recording sheet to which the selected respondents wrote down their two-week diet. This diet was subsequently evaluated in the program Nutriservis. The results were compared with the recommendations and interpreted in the form of tables and plain text. For comparison, a general sample menu for the period of remission has been worked out. The research results show that eating habits of patients are quite stereotypical. Generally known facts have been confirmed. Most frequently, patients try to avoid the consumption of dairy products, wholemeal bread and legumes. The consumption of vegetables, fruits and fish is not sufficient. Patients are not aware enough of the role of a nutritional therapist, most respondents do not have any personal experience with him. Dietary advice is searched on the internet where some unverified recommendations may endanger health of individuals of malnutrition, hypovitaminoses or deficiency of trace elements. However, patients in the remission stage of ulcerative colitis should follow the rational diet with regard to individual food intolerance.

Giuseppe Verdi: "Don Carlos" - opera complex scenographic project

This bachelor’s thesis aims to find complex scenographic solution of Don Carlos opera composed by Italian author Giuseppe Verdi. Apart from my own creative solution I also present theoretical chapters of authors biography, relation to his work and I compare several Don Carlos productions by Josef Jelínek who designed six unique costume variations.
During process of making the set design I came up with lots of topics to think about. I chose freedom as main topic by studying past productions, libretto and musical part. This topic is one of the key elements of the creative solution and therefore I defined it further in part of this thesis. I am also looking for artistic ways that would be the most suitable and adequate for the opera, musical-dramatic genre, in which music could be more important than libretto. I am trying to find connections to contemporary society and keep the story up to date.

Nonverbal factors in psychotherapy of adolescents

The thesis deals with one of the areas of children's psychology - psychotherapy of adolescents. The study mainly focuses on different non-verbal moments, or factors, occurring at psychotherapeutic sessions held with adolescent patients, and it outlines the possibilities of application of these factors in the psychotherapeutic process. The objective of the thesis is to show that sometimes seemingly insignificant non-verbal moments may play an important role, especially in therapeutic work with adolescents, and therefore therapists should pay increased attention to these symptoms. This also applies in case that a patient was originally indicated a psychotherapy, the main medical treatment medium of which is predominately an interview (for example a family therapy). The thesis is based on one of the assumptions that in general non-verbal methods, in this case at least some of their elements, may work as facilitators of an interview, for example if the patient fails to express certain personal experience of his or her, his/her feeling or emotion with the help of words, or when a therapist fails to enter into verbal communication with the patient.

Occurrence of increased sulphate concentration in groundwater of the Quaternary sediments in the floodplane of the Morava river watershed is related to many specific features in hydrogeology, hydrochemistry, microbiology, geochemistry, exploitation of water resources, climatic conditions, and technical equipment of boreholes. One of the concsequences is genesis of 2-4 m thick layer of sediments at the bottom of moitoring boreholes Vis with mineral precipitates, sludge, Al and Si gelatines, precipitates of elemental forms of Al, Si and Fe. There were found also colloids of FeS2 composition and minerals goethite, magnetite, lepidocrocite, pyrite, greygite under extreme oxido-redox conditions.

This bachelor thesis's goal is to provide a complex conception of the possibilities of E-recruitment in the Czech Republic in the context of abroad experiences and know-how brought to the Czech Republic by external organisations. The work is conceived to cover aH elements which are participating in workers recruitment: organisations themselves and candidates as weH as personal placement services. The roles of these agents are defmed and it is described how these roles are modified by the usage of the Internet in the human resources sphere. Inc1uded are the areas of workers recruitment as personal marketing and its possibilities on the Internet, getting references with the help of Internet s earching , intranet and workers acquisition from internal sources are. The endeavour is to guess the development on the basis of Internet exploitation in human resources sphere development abroad, main1y in the western countries. The focus is on the phenomenon of social networking and its usage in human resources as of a very efficient source or even database of candidates.

The influence of jazz in czech piano concerts

The thesis "The influence of jazz in Czech piano concerts" disserts on the Czech jazz scene of the First republic and the time after 1945. It reminds us of the Czech music on the edge of genres as well as it debates about the Czech piano concerts of the respective time period. It picks especially those most affected by jazz (E. Schulhoff: Concert for piano and a small orchestra, J. Ježek: Piano concert, M. Svoboda: Concerto grosso for violin, piano and a string orchestra, M. Hybler: Concert for piano and orchestra, op. 21). An analysis of the above mentioned with sheet music examples shapes another part of the work. The final part of the thesis is represented by a study on jazz elements used
by the author in her piano concert "Beyond heaven".

Landscape as a tool for narrative in modernist films

My main interest is a landscape as a dominating element of space, of a film set; therefore I chose it as a topic for this work.
The introduction deals with picture in narration in general. As it is known ? the picture is a basic pillar of film language, however in many cases its potentials has not been exploited in all its entity. But historical development of narrative structures has been in a close interaction with construction of picture, which, for its part, creates the film space, so with a time the film space got a chance to reveal itself and fulfill its possibilities.
The next part of the text offers a brief overview about development of importance of landscape in film history, however I intentionally stopped and focused my attention on modernism period, which I find the bravest and richest of attempts towards development of film as an art. This period has also made a contribution in creation of landscape in film as aware and meaningful tool of expression.
One of the most unique spaces not only in modernism but also throughout whole film history is Tarkovsky?s Zona. Therefore the main focus will be on this particular space. The first part of the following text will give an introduction to Tarkovsky?s specific approach of film picture and its link with orthodox understanding of icon. The second part will contain analysis and attempt to understand the Zona.
