The issue of woman´s pregnancy in higher age
KUNTOVÁ, Anna
My Bachelor thesis devotes to the issue of the pregnancy of women in older age. This topic is currently very topical and frequently discussed. This work is divided into the theoretical and the practical or rather the research part. In the theoretical part we defined the physiological pregnancy, the general problems of the pregnancy in an older age and family planning. In the next chapter, we have focused on the influencing of a woman's age on her experience with pregnancy or the fetus. According to many studies, there is the evidence that women over the age of 35 years are predisposed more to the pregnancy complications. The important issue is also the fertility decreasing prominently after the woman´s age of 30 years. The prenatal care, psyche and needs of women in old age are mentioned too. There were two purposes of my work. The first one was the effect of the age of woman on the course of her pregnancy. The second one was monitoring of the most frequent reasons for getting pregnant in an older age. Five research questions were chosen : How does older age affect the course of pregnancy? How do multigravidas women evaluate the pregnancy before the age of 35 and after that age? How do midwives educate pregnant women in older age, and how they assess them? How is the situation about the awareness of women about the risks of pregnancy in an older age? Why did women deside for the pregnancy in an older age?The research was based on the qualitative method with the help of personalized semistructured interviews. Interviews were conducted with ten women aged 35 years and over (they were divided into the five primiparous and five multiparous) and three midwives. The research was conducted at the practical gynecologists offices on the basis of their consent to research. The results of this study pointed to the issues of pregnancy above the age of 35 years. It was found and in some cases confirmed, that age can really have a negative effect on the pregnancy after the 35th year of the woman's life. The pregnancy hypertension, low overlying placenta or the danger of amniocentesis appeared at respondents. We cannot say every pregnant woman will suffer from complications. The high-risk pregancy of older age was proved in some cases, it is possible to say three out of ten respondents spent their pregnancy without problems. The reasons for decision of women to have a child in this age are the women´s partners. Sometimes woman married a new partner or she was waiting for suitable partner for a long time. Sometimes women simply want a baby and they do not think about their age. The other reason can be also career or hobbies of women or the unintended pregnancy. My bachelor thesis pointed to possibility of risk for pregnant women aged over 35 years. It should serve as an information source but not as a plan that women can expect if they get pregnant over 35 years age. Established reasons of women to become pregnant should show the present situation and the attitudes of women. The results are a reflection of our time, because the age for women pregnancy grow. It is good to know why this is happening. We can argue against the issue of the knowledge and the education of women. They should know the risk of pregnancy over 35 years in advance. Is the ignorance in this issue the positive factor? Every woman is a personality with a different understanding and a different psychological frame of mind. It is necessary to perceive a woman holistically and to think about her anamnesis.

Is import of goods from european countries to Czech republic more or less influenced by changes in nominal and real exchange rates than in non european countries?
Vereš, Jan ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Slaný, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses the connection between import of goods from foreign countries to Czech Republic and the exchange rate changes. The initial hypothesis of this paper is to prove that the depreciation of domestic currency has positive influence on balance of trade balance. For this purpose there is eight econometric models which were created by using time series from years 2003 to 2016. These models are divided in pairs among four chosen countries. For each country two models were created that follow the development of trade balance between Czech Republic and one of the countries in two different time frames. All the models always use the real effective exchange rate, growth rate of GDP for Czech Republic and growth rate of GDP for one of the countries as explanatory variable. It is connected with the second task of this thesis, which is the analysis of the differences in the behaviour of the models that belong to the countries which are members of the EU and these that are not. The aim is to find out whether the existence of tariffs on imported goods from countries out of the EU causes visible differences in the behaviour of the variables that were included in the models. Based on the outcomes of all eight models the main hypothesis has been proved right for three out of four countries. In the models for Germany, China and France the relation of real exchange rate and trade balance came out as positive in long term, in short term the outcome was ambiguous. The second question of this thesis has been answered, but its added value is questionable. The final models for each state do show some noticeable differences and they can be used to determine if the influence of the change of exchange rates on trade balance is smaller or bigger in the countries where tariffs are used. On the other hand, from the results we can learn that the sample of only four countries is insufficient for the deduction of any conclusions.

Informative value of the cost efficiency concept in banking
Marková, Katarína ; Mejstřík, Michal (advisor) ; Pečená, Magda (referee)
The concept of cost efficiency has repeatedly been proven to have some signaling effect for the risk of a bank failure. In this paper we examine the informative value of the efficiency scores of institutions that have been experiencing distress within the current 'subprime' crisis. For this purpose we employ the parametric stochastic cost frontier method and estimate the cost frontier of five European banking sectors using the pre-crisis data of the period 2004-2007. On a sample of 18 bailed-out institutions we then investigate whether abnormal development in terms of relative cost efficiency preceded the distress. We find that in all examined sectors, except of the British one, distressed institutions performed prior to the crisis on average worse than their peers in terms of relative cost efficiency. Besides, we observe that while the high-profile rescue cases of continental Europe (Dexia, Fortis, HRE) were preceded by years of excessively poor performance, the bailed-out British banks were in all concerns best performers within their relevant industries. The paper is concluded by a discussion of the fundamental risks that result from the current reshaping of the European banking industry. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of sustainable tourism development at the regional level. This phenomenon is elaborated on the example of Vysocina Region. To evaluate sustainability of its development, the potential of this touristic destination is researched regarding various areas, including key products. These are subjected to comparisons with recommendations of significant tourism organization for the purpose of assessing the sustainability of tourism. The diploma thesis also includes a comparison with other Czech regions experience as a touristic destination. Vysocina Region has favourable initial conditions for its sustainable development, especially regarding supply of key products, which include both environmentally friendly goods and cultural attractiveness contributing to the personal development of individuals and promoting intercultural tolerance. The main issue appears to be the spatial imbalance of its development in the region, caused mainly by the concentration of tourist activities to certain areas and low local initiative in the less attractive areas. The diploma thesis proposes a number of solutions, such as utilization of geocaching and products of gastroturism, supporting the foundation of local destination management organisations, promoting cycling tourism and the foundation of highly visited tourist destinations.

Chytrá a udržitelná města v kontextu vědecké a inovační strategie EU
Horniecká, Marie ; Žamberský, Pavel (advisor) ; Procházková Ilinitchi, Cristina (referee)
The thesis explores how the EU support to research and innovation towards urban sustainability is designed, what the existing EU intiatives striving for achieving smart and sustainable cities are. The analysis of theoretical approaches forms the basis for developing the definition of smart and sustainable city for the purpose of this thesis. An overview of the principal EU strategic documents which address urban sustainability together with European networks is provided in order to demonstrate the linkage to the research Framework Programmes. A separate chapter is devoted to the analysis of the most pressing challenges European cities face nowadays. Database of EU funded research and innovation calls and projects is examined (E-CORDA). Calls and projects related to urban areas are identified and juxtaposed with the urban problems. Final recommendations concern with social aspects of sustainability which should be, in the author's opinion, addressed in future EU research Framework Programmes with a particular attention.
