Měnící se význam a vliv informací
Láznička, Jan ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Antonín (referee)
Bakalářská práce se zabývá nejprve podstatou lidského myšlení, protože právě v mozku dochází k procesům, díky kterým informace chápeme a pracujeme s nimi.

Background: Stroke is the second most frequent cause of death in developed countries and the most frequent cause of permanent disability. This way this illness creates high costs for society which should be minimized as much as possible. One of the possibilities is to administer cost-saving drugs which are at the same time from the medical point of view of the top quality and their economic effectiveness can be identified by means of pharmacoeconomic analysis. Objective: The objective of the work is to identify and carry out a quantified estimate of costs connected with the stroke treatment in the Czech Republic. Next is the necessary to confront the results with the alternative solution to the treatment (taking drug Xarelto instead of Warfarin) and to carry out comparison of the both the possibilities from the quantitative point of view. Methods: Costs of stroke treatment are evaluated from the social point of view. From their determination COI method with type of bottom-up approach has been picked out which includes all-life cost-of-illness. For comparison of costs both the treatment vari-ants the Cost-Minimization Analysis (CMA) has been chosen, the results of which shows net cost savings. Data are taken from non-public data of the provider (St. Anne 's Uni-versity Hospital Brno), Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic, Czech Statistical Office, foreign studies and consultations with neurologists as well. Results: Total social costs of treatment of stroke were 12 991 273 843,65 CZK. COI method was used to calculate average costs for one patient with Warfarin in the amount of 1 203 423,68 CZK, in case of alternative treatment with Xarelto in the amount of 1 465 963,32 CZK. Relaps creates the biggest item of the costs. CMA method was used to identify savings when Warfarin is administered in the average amount of 262 539,64 CZK per patient. The hypothesis that Xarelto is more effective from the economic point of view has not been confirmed. Conclusion: Because of high cost of Xarelto, this drug has not beaten the economic effectiveness of Warfarin with lower quality. It is possible to search for savings in other items of identified costs as well.

Asymmetric Information in the Process of Investing to Funds of Qualified Investors
Veselá, Kamila ; Soukup, Alexandr (advisor) ; Severová, Lucie (referee)
The submitted paper focuses on information asymmetry in the area of investments in qualified investors' funds. The paper focuses on qualified investors' funds in the form of open-end mutual funds that allow the subscription of allotment certificates, i.e. they offer investment opportunities. The nature of qualified investors' funds allows, compared to standard funds, the execution of more venturous investment strategies, which, however, includes much higher risk connected to the information asymmetry. The paper is based on the assumption of information asymmetry between Investment Company and potential investors. The quality of the provided information is therefore critical; however, the investor cannot be expected to have the same knowledge of the fund as does the manager of the fund. The assumption of information asymmetry is based on the differences of interests of Investment Company and potential investor. Investor's interest is to maximize his own profit (net present value), but the interest of Investment Company is to maximize his profit (fee for managing the fund). The manager, maximizing the profit (his fee for managing the fund), may try to contort information towards the investor to "lure" him into an investment and thus achieve his goal. The objective of this dissertation paper is therefore the identification of risks connected to investing in QIF (qualified investors' funds) as result of the existence of IA (information asymmetry) on the side of the investor, qualitative analysis and proposal of measures leading to the elimination of IA. It's meant (in this paper) that information asymmetry is misrepresentation of information and also the incompleteness of information. The results are the basis for two outputs of this paper: investments recommendation for potential investors and information duties recommendation focused for Investment Companies. The aim of these outputs is to eliminate the influence of IA in the process of decision -- making of potential investors.

Evaluation of information security in information systems
Urbanec, Jiří ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Vlasta , Vlasta (referee)
Information is a valuable asset for organizations and a source of competitive advantage nowadays. Therefore it is necessary to retain information security characteristics of processes and systems in required limits and continuously evaluate the state using measurement. The problem in measurement shows to be in the selection of suitable characteristics and measures of the processes or the products, which are subject to measurement. The main aim of the dissertation thesis is to design methodic for evaluating information security in information systems and formulate conclusions and recommendations for its use in practice. The situation in The Czech Republic was obtained based on a quantitative survey in which data was collected by means of a questionnaire survey (N=785; n=101) and qualitative research was conducted in the 3 organizations from financial sector in the Czech Republic. Results showed that at present an absolute majority of surveyed organizations evaluate information systems from the perspective of risk to valuable information (58.49%). Organizations evaluating information security are most often to identify weaknesses and emerging issues (41.5%). Only a 17.6% of them measure. The designed methodic identifies behavioral model of the organization, defines measurable characteristics of the system and the organization based on extended security model, defines process of development of the measures based on GQM tool, engages measurement process compatible with ISO 27004 and presents evaluation procedure using measured values. The proposed procedures and constructs focused on improvement of field detected by the survey, the "information classification" and "difference between perception of information value between owner and processor". The procedures were validated on two anonymous organizations and are presented in form of case studies. One of the conclusions is, that proposed methodic is applicable mostly in organizations with strong technical and financial base, where it is possible to overcome requirements of measures development processes and measurement application. Also the methodic of evaluation has its own limits of applicability.

Influence of Quality on Comipetitivity of Milk and Milk products
Hrubá, Renata ; Kovářová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Čechura, Lukáš (referee)
Globalization requires a new understanding of the effect of attitudes in the decision making process, particularly when regional differences arise from different cultural and social norms. Information behavior is the part of behavioral economics that explores decision making stakeholders - consumers, businessmen or politicians, under conditions of bounded rationality. For consumers it is primarily important to buy local products from family farms. The aim of the thesis was to verify the effectiveness of that model in the Czech Republic, especially to fill in the empirical aspect of behavioral economics, relating to consumer behavior under unclear information as well as normal environments, thus understanding the indirect effect of perception on product information. Today these issues are gaining in importance in developed countries as well as in the Czech Republic. The high probability of "never researching product information" resides more within consumers with negative attitudes toward global issues (30%) than in consumers with positive attitudes towards those issues (about 1%). Attitudinal changes affect decreases among those "never searching for product information" (by 30%) as well as increasing "search-rates" (by 60%). In other words, the changes in attitude have significant effects on consumer behavior (Spillover effect). Predicting decision making behavior under unclear information also shows important results. Changes of attitude toward nutrient security, milk of origin or ingredients is associated with relative changes in behavior. A change of attitude will reduce the probability to sometimes buy products with unclear (15%) and increases the probability of buying products with clear information (17%). Empirical research of behaviors under uncertainty are long-term projects, however methodologies may vary differentially. By connecting the theory of planned behavior to the theory of information, these theses fill in the issues of behavioral economics theory. The practical implication is a methodological approach of the model.
