The Czech Sociological Data Archive
Krejčí, Jindřich
Sociological Data Archive (SDA) of the Institute of Sociology collects computerised data files from sociological surveys. Czech survey research has a long tradition, but it was deeply affected by communist regime. A debate concerning the formation of a social science data archive was opened in the late 60s. The main access to the SDA'data library is provided on the Internet. The Archive pays a great attention to promoting secondary analysis and co-operates in large research projects.

Detection of frequency along an altitude gradient and its influence on tree vegetation in natural forests of NP Seoraksan (South Korea) based on using tree rings data.
PLENER, Tomáš
The thesis presents a grant application for a project dealing with research on disturbance frequency and influence on a structure and composition of tree vegetation in mixed oak forests in National park Seoraksan (South Korea). The aim is to verify and deepen current knowledge of disturbance and suggest adequate protection management based on the information obtained.

Proměnlivost multiplikátorů vládních výdajů v čase: Evidence z dat z USA
Focht, Daniel ; Maršál, Aleš (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
This paper estimates the size of the government spending multiplier over different states of the economy. Previous research came with two contradictory conclusions. Part of the literature argues that the spending multiplier is larger during recession and zero-lower bound periods, while the second one concludes that it remains constant. First, a summary of the relevant literature is presented, outlining different types of used methodological approaches and estimated size of the multiplier. We build a model estimated using local projections by Jorda for the period 1889 to 2016 to estimate government spending multipliers over different states of the economy. Our results show that the spending multiplier remains constant over different states of the economy.

Project of organisation and management in tourism destination Český Krumlov
VOLFOVÁ, Hana
Task of this work was to make analysis focused on current management of tourism in the city of Český Krumlov, models of other destinations and business enviroment. On basis of conclusion of those analysis were made posibilities of cooperation and comunication between business enviroment and Destination management ČK, and also were accepted specific steps to improve all activities of this organisation. Data gathered through managed interviews showed complex information of state of destination management in Czech Republic and abroad. In following comparation was found out, at what level is currently destionation managememt in Český Krumlov, Analysis of business enviroment defined relations, which can be improved and amplified, with privat enviroment of city. For purpose of creating communication base was designed specific platform Jourfix. As a next step suggestions for better organisation and coordination of activities of Destination management were defined, including its economic calculations. The main purpose was to correctly evaluate actual situation of this subject and to create specific solutions.

The report on a development of advanced methods of the study of speciation and description of sorption of actinoids
Vopálka, D. ; Drtinová, B. ; Motl, A. ; Šebera, Jakub ; Štamberg, K. ; Vetešník, A. ; Višňák, J. ; Zavadilová, A.
The report of the last period of the project presents a development of three topics, each of which relates to the study of the radionuclide migration in fields near to disposal of nuclear waste and other nuclear facilities. The local structure and thermodynamic stability of uranyl sulfate complexes in aqueous solution was investigated by DFT theory. Interpretation of UV-VIS absorption spectra of uranyl-sulfate and -aqua complexes in aqueous solution was performed within the time-dependent DFT calculations. The structures were optimized in the aqueous phase at the B3LYP level by using model COSMO. The calculated geometries of aqua-sulfate complexes corresponded to the experimental data. DFT method described qualitatively thermodynamic stability of complexes in solution. TD-DFT method correctly interpreted only a part of absorption spectra (190-340 nm). In order to interpret the area around 420 nm it will be necessary to use the two-component relativistic TD-DFT.

Vliv isolačních mezer na dynamicku elektrodifuzních čidel tření I. Laboratorní jednotka pro kalibraci a testování vícesegmentových elektrodifusních čidel.
Wein, Ondřej ; Kiefmann, J. ; Slezák, Jiří ; Tovčigrečko, Valentin
A PC-driven multi-channel ED interface EDIK has been designed and tested in a project of dynamical calibration of multi-segment ED probes. Due to a specific approach to the calibration, this PC-driven device ensures accuracy about 0.1 mV in the supplied polarization voltage and about 0.1% from the range selected, with ranges 10-1?A : 10+4?A. A user-friendly software EDIKWork has been developed for the ED process control, data sampling and analysis within the environment of the NI LabVIEW. A hydraulic unit for generating parallel-superposed oscillatory viscometric flow (based on a commercial servomotor solution by YASKAWA) has been designed and used for dynamical calibration of 2-segment (sandwich type) and 3-segment (direction-specific) ED probes.

The Pierre Auger Observatory is designed for study of the universe's high energy particles, which evolve in the high layers of the atmosphere, where an elementary particle strikes with energy above 10.sup.19./sup. eV (1.6 J!). However, there is no scientific consensus about cosmic ray origin. The Auger Observatory is projected to gather the data needed to solve that puzzle. One of the detection technique is to observe these showers by fluorescent detectors, which are able to record the cascade development where the secondary particle causes atmospheric nitrogen to fluoresce.

Digital Repository in Practice - More Than Just a Data Storage
Andrejčíková, Naděžda
Research generates ever more data. For guidance in these data a digital repository of published results of science and research should serve as well as a digital repository containing these scientific data. Metadata are very important in this process. They can link related data from completely different external sources. In our paper, we focus on the use of external resources in building institutional repositories.

Adaptivní dopředné řízení
Kárný, Miroslav
Feed-forward controllers are important in a range of control problems. Their importance is obvious in tasks in which potential of feedback control is limited, for instance, in systems with long transportation delays. Formally, their design can be approached by a standard methodology of optimal stochastic control. It can be consistently performed by combining Bayesian learning and dynamic programming. This formal solution can, however, rarely be converted into a computationally feasible algorithms. Thus, various approximations are searched for. The current report deals with a specific type of approximation based on a projection of optimal /emph{anticipating} control strategy to a non-anticipating one. This approximation way suits to the feed-forward control in which the selected system inputs influence the state of the controller but not the system-related data used in the feed-forward loop.

Information Retrieval in Text Data
Tkadlčík, Luboš ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis researches the issue of text data mining and information retrieval. It describes the most common representations of text documents and retrieval strategies. The aim of this thesis is design and implementation of application, which realises information retrieval via vector space model. The application implements three different ways of similarity calculation: cosine measure, the Jaccard coefficient and the Dice coefficient. Achieved results are assessed. Possible continuance of the project is outlined.
