Evaluation of information systems via fuzzy logic

The diploma thesis is deals with analysis of the information system of Gevorkyan, a.s. and choosing a new information system. The aim of this thesis is to create a fuzzy model to support the selection of a new information system in the MS EXCEL and MATLAB environment. The created model will help choosing a new information system for the company. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the problem of fuzzy logic and the creation of a fuzzy model in the MS EXCEL and MATLAB environment is presented. The analytical part is focused on the analysis of the current state of the company and the information system in use using the McKinsey method and the HOS8 and ZEFIS methods. The design part describes the created fuzzy model in both program environments and a comparison of the achieved results.

It includes theoretical background, analysis of the current external and internal environment of the company, analysis of strengths and weaknesses and analysis of the information system. In the final part, there are proposals for improvements in the functioning of information systems that could be implemented in practice.

The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part important theoretical concepts are explained. In the second part the current state of the company and its information system is analyzed. In the third and last part of the thesis, specific measures are proposed that should contribute to the better functioning of the company's information system.

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the current state of the information system of Kramp s.r.o. and its efficiency, to assess this state and to propose changes aimed at improving the current state and eliminating the identified risks. The work is divided into three parts. The first theoretical part describes important concepts related to the relevant topic. The second part is devoted to the detailed analysis of the company and the analysis of the information system, where its efficiency and security are evaluated. The thesis concludes with the last chapter, which proposes changes aimed at improving the current state of the system and resolving the identified shortcomings.

The final chapter evaluates the proposals from an economic perspective.

This master´s thesis contains an explanation of basic terms and principals used in an issue of information systems. Part of this master´s thesis is analyses of a current state of an information system in a selected company and evaluation of its effectiveness. A set of improvement propositions of the current state was created based on those analyses with both balance and effectiveness of an IS taken into account.

The theoretical part deals with information systems in general, process methodologies and company and information systems assessments methodologies. Then followed by project management and information strategies. The practical part proposes new information strategy and implementation of company information system.
