Leisure Time of Children at the Elementary School in Čestice

The bachelor´s thesis named Leisure time of children at the 2nd level of an Elementary school in Čestice is focused on the current view of leisure time of children and youth specifically of pupils of the 2nd level of Elementary school Čestice (district Strakonice). The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the definition of leisure time, factors that affect it and education (raising) outside teaching and hobby activities, as well as the definition of older school - age and communication of individuals in this developmental phase, the possibilities of spending free time in Čestice and its surroundings and the leisure educator´s personality. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor´s thesis was to obtain information on how children at the 2nd level of the Elementary School in Čestice spend their free time. Quantitative research was used for data collection, using a questionnaire designed for 6.-9. classes of the Elementary School in Čestice. The results of the questionnaire survey are presented in tables and graphs and showed that the pupils of this primary school are satisfied with how they spend their free time and have an overview of the leisure opportunities offered to them by the school and the surrounding organizations. The most numerous activities, as stated by the students, are sports clubs, as well as clubs with a musical focus.
Differences in spending leisure time of children living in the country and in the town

1 Summary: At present our society faces the fact that children have been losing interest in activities that do not generate an immediate result and their free time is spent primarily passive. Overall values in society have changed. To obtain the various resources, experiences, property, we prefer the easier way to the effort and perseverance. Therefore we cannot value our own personality and know ourselves. Probably that is why current society is called consumer. This study consists of two parts - the theoretical and the empirical part. The study deals with the relation between physiological and psychological development of children, influence of environment and the use of free time. It detects options and ability of pubescent children living in the city and in the country to use leisure time offer. It also examines how much the place of living influences the way of spending their free time. The main objective is to find differences in the use of free time due to specific life in the city and in the country. Some problems in relation to the free time are also mentioned, e.g. specifics of life in the satellite towns, some sociopathological phenomena (crime, drug addiction or vandalism). The work deals with the definition of the creativity and creative activity conception, defining of the subject, functions and aims of free time education. Furthermore, with the personality of free time teacher and his roles in the interaction with children and young people. The main topic is creative activities in the education of free time. The work defines the area of creative activity on the basis of hobby activities. After implementation of these areas provides the basic types of free time institutions.
