Dystopia genre in contemporary youth literature

The thesis is focused on dystopia genre in contenporary youth literature and its use in literature classes. First chapters are focused on function of youth literature, popular genres in last 10 years, dystopia and utopia genre and comparation of dystopian fiction and dystopian reality. The main topic of this thesis is didactic treatment of the thematic unit on the topic dystopia, which includes 6 teaching hours. The result of this unit is use dystopia genre in primary schools.
Youth literature as a tool for development of key competences at high school

The submitted diploma thesis is concerned with the development of key competencies in literary education at the 2nd level of elementary school. The aim of the first part is to approach the form of pubescent reading with the help of professional literature, to outline the current concept of literary education, which is based on the framework educational program, and to present specific approaches to teaching literature corresponding to the concept. Other parts of the work will discuss key competencies, their grappling in the FEP ZV and their possible evaluation in school practice. Social, personal and civic competences will be analysed in more detail and the possibilities of their development through a literary text in the subject Literary Education will be presented. Further we will focus on contemporary Czech and foreign literary production for children and youth, where epic genres with the theme of social disadvantage will be placed in the centre of attention. Here a list of book titles with a short annotation according to the relevant topic will be offered. The practical part then deals with a didactic analysis of four book titles from the previous list, which is inspired by narratological analysis, as conceived by the project Readers' Clubs. Anthology of Contemporary Bavarian Literature for Youth with Commentary

The practical part deals with the literary anthology, in which three books are analysed in terms of character development, action, symbolism and motives. These books were selected on the basis of the following specifying criteria - books for young people published in Bavaria in the last 20 years that have not been translated into the Czech language and are dealing with a problematic theme. Specifically, the main books' motives are sexual abuse within family, bullying and escaping in the context of historical events. Last but not least, the thesis includes translations and their reflections where the reader learns what difficulties occurred during translation books chosen for anthology.
