The bachelor's thesis focuses on the comparison of the incidence of burnout symptoms among teachers in traditional and alternative high schools and the identification of possible connections of any differences. The topic of work stress and burnout is introduced, including stress management and self-care strategies and the specifics of teacher burnout. Then, traditional and alternative schools are defined and selected alternative school conceptions existing in the Czech Republic at the high school level are presented. Based on the similarities between the individual conceptions, the specifics of the work of teachers at alternative schools compared to traditional schools are subsequently identified in the thesis. In the context of the differences between alternative schools and traditional ones, the thesis then returns to the topic of teacher burnout and focuses on current research. The thesis contains an empirical research project, the goal of which is to compare the incidence of burnout among teachers working in traditional and alternative high schools. Symptoms of burnout among teachers were assessed using the Copenhagen burnout inventory (CBI) questionnaire. Stress factors perceived by the teachers as the most significant and self-care methods used by the teachers were also assessed. Keywords:...
