Interdisciplinary relations biology - geography - physics in the education of the topic of plants role in water cycle in the landscape from the point of view of pre-service biology teachers
RAJTMAJEROVÁ, Veronika
This bachelor's thesis deals with interdisciplinary relationships between biology, geography and physics in teaching the role of vegetation in the water cycle in the landscape at primary school. The aim of the thesis was to illuminate interdisciplinary relationships in teaching this topic and to find out the opinions of students of geography teaching. The theoretical part mentions the role of vegetation in the water cycle in the landscape and also defines the term interdisciplinary relationships and their classification within science subjects. This thesis contains an analysis of textbooks of geography and biology focused on interdisciplinary relationships related to vegetation and the water cycle in nature. The focus of the thesis is a questionnaire survey, which monitors the knowledge and opinions of students of the Faculty of Education and also future teachers at primary school. The results bring the differences between natural sciences and social sciences.
The role of vegetation in the solar energy distribution and the water cycle in the landscape - an impact of inquiry based education on pupils understanding
BRČÁKOVÁ, Tereza
This article brings the results of the survey aimed on the impact of inquiry based education on the students' knowledge of the role of vegetation in the solar energy distribution and the water cycle in the landscape, which was realized at four schools. The introduction presented the issue of the role of vegetation in the solar energy distribution and the water cycle in the landscape. Further, the bachelor thesis presents problems of inquiry based education, and also implementation of inquiry based science education on this theme in elementary schools education and grammar schools education relating to didactic textbooks. The outcome of the thesis brings the results of the survey made by pretest and posttest forms. From the data collected follows that inquiry based education increases the pupils' knowledge of this topic. Knowledge regarding distribution solar energy by plants is important for understanding water cycle in landscape and evidence based water economy, which can reduce losses of water in a local measure and mitigate subsequent drought.
The evaluation of drainage ratios in dependence on the rainfall in the drainage area of river Ostřice
CERHÁNOVÁ, Milena
The topic of this diploma thesis is ``The evaluation of drainage ratios in dependence on the rainfall in the drainage area of river Ostřice{\crqq}. The goal of the thesis was to evaluate the effect of the rainfall fluctuation on the flow charakteristics in the drainage are of Ostřice and to generalize this effect. The introductory part cosists of the theory of the water cycle, origin of rainfall, water run-off and factors influencing it. The main part engages in the evaluation of rainfall in the observed period, calculation of flow from the measured values of the water level hight and further finding of dependence between rainfall and flow.
Effects of Climate change on root dynamics in temperate forests
Růžičková, Kateřina ; Bouda, Martin (advisor) ; Stiblíková, Pavlína (referee)
Fine roots contribute significantly to the global carbon and water cycle. Their dynamics and changes that may occur are therefore key players in these processes. Climate change significantly affects the dynamics of fine roots, and since individual factors are in interaction and may also function against each other, the overall response of the root system to climate change is difficult to predict. However, understanding these processes is essential for creating more accurate models to predict the response of ecosystems to a changing climate. This bachelor's project is a literature review that summarizes the knowledge about the effects of elevated temperature, CO2 concentration and drought on the dynamics of fine roots in temperate forests. Also, it provides a comprehensive view of the interaction of all three factors and considers some issues open for further research.
Evaluation of long-term climatological monitoring of Mokré louky wetland by Třeboň and of other meteorological stations related to a change of hydrological cycle
KOVÁŘOVÁ, Milena
This study presents a detailed evaluation of long-term climatic data obtained from the meteorological station at Mokré louky wetland by Třeboň. A method for evaluation of dependence of air temperature on precipitation cycle is proposed and applied. The data from Mokré louky are compared with data from other meteorological stations in Czech Republic as well as in Europe and surroundings. The obtained results confirm a strong dependency of solar radiation reaching the Earth surface and dependently also the air temperature on the precipitation cycle. They represent in this way a fresh point of view on reasons for climate change, where the climate change is considered to be caused by a gradual decrease of permanent vegetation and current global desertification of continents.
The preparation of revitalisation impact in "Rašeliniště Kapličky"
KOPECKÁ, Ladislava
The peat-bog Kapličky is a nature reserve located on the right shore of the Lipno Dam which we can find in the east part of the Šumava mountains in the Vyšebrodsko nature park. The purpose of my paper is to describe the damage of a part of the peat-bog caused by the human activities in the past. The peat was extracted for the fuel activities. It has led to degradation and the overgrowing of expansive species. Therefore I prepare the foundation for the practical realisation of the peat-bog revitalisation. My paper also includes the monitoring of the ground water level at 14-day-intervals, monitoring of vegetation and its alternations in consequence of water cycle. My paper links to Lenka Pavelcová the magister thesis.
