Urban, Michael ; Blažek, Lukáš (referee)
Development of Czech water law and legal relations related to water Abstract This dissertation thesis deals with the development of the legal regulation of water law and legal relations related to water in the Czech Republic. It provides an interpretation of the issue from the beginnings of the Czech state to the present. The thesis is divided into sixteen chronological chapters focusing on individual periods of development of this issue. The individual chapters are divided into sub-chapters dealing with sub-fields of water law and legal relations related to water. The first four chapters provide a theoretical introduction and a common basis for the other chapters. The first chapter contains an analysis of the concept of water law and the systematics of water law. The second chapter provides an outline of the development of water law in antiquity as an illumination of the earliest roots of water law. The third chapter discusses the foundations and structure of Roman water law as the methodological basis of the field of water law. The fourth chapter deals with the basic features of the development of water law in the territory of states neighbouring the Czech Republic. Chapters 5-15 form the core of the thesis and deal with individual periods of development of Czech water law and legal relations related to...
Zhodnocení jakosti vody vybraných přítoků Oslavy
Michálková, Barbora
The bachelor thesis deals with water quality of selected Oslava river tributaries. The goal was to conduct literature search dealing with the issue of water quality by using scientific database and to determine and evaluate quality of selected tributaries. This was achieved by annual monitoring in the field and subsequent laboratory analyses. The data was evaluated using ČSN 75 7221 and Environmental Quality Standards. Thanks to the data provided by Povodí Moravy, s. p. from the monitoring of the river Oslava, an overall view of the water quality in the vicinity of the target basins was created. The results showed phosphorus and nitrogen pollution of the inflows. Phosphorus was measured in higher concentrations especially in more urbanized basins without wastewater treatment plants. Nitrogen pollution came from livestock and crop production, but was also measured in other tributaries, even in places identified as nitrate vulnerable areas. The conclusions show that there is a need to focus, for example, on the management of wastewater in small municipalities, compliance with the rules of the nitrate directive or complex anti-erosion measures.
Srovnání efektivity závlahy dřevin pomocí závlahových vaků a klasické zálivky
Omesová, Kristina
The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of the effectiveness of two types of irrigation used for irrigation of young plantings in cities and in the countryside. Specifically, the irrigation of trees using irrigation bags and irrigation in the form of classic watering for irrigation bowls were compared. The growth and development of trees is not only affected by the method of irrigation, but especially by the environment in which the trees grow. The literature section mentions the impacts of climate change on the environment for tree growth, specific conditions for planting trees in the urban environment, the importance of water for trees, systems and sources of irrigation used in urban greenery. The whole research was carried out on the basis of measuring the length and width of the annual increments and perimeter of the trunk. The measured values were statistically processed and displayed in graphs. The results of the three-year measurement clearly show a higher efficiency of irrigation using irrigation bags at the time of application of irrigation.
Mikroplasty a jejich vliv na životní prostředí
Kopicová, Jana
This bachelor thesis deals with plastic pollution in the environment predominantly focusing on microplastics. The aim of the theoretical part is to acquaint readers with the terminological background of plastics and their microscopic parts. This part also contains an overview of current information about sources, presence, and possible impact of microplastics in the environment centring on the water component. The theoretical part further discusses the effect of microplastics on living organisms and one’s health. In the practical part of the thesis, a questionnaire survey was carried out to find out respondents’ opinions and awareness of the given matter. The results of the survey confirmed that most of the respondents, despite being familiar with the term microplastics, are not well informed about their impact on the environment. The survey also indicates that this area lacks public awareness. Furthermore, a comparative analysis shows that more than 80% of the respondents would be in favour of refundable plastic bottles. Finally, the survey appears to confirm that respondents have poorer knowledge in legal regulations dealing with plastic waste.

The bachelor thesis focuses on monitoring changes in the quality of the Všeminka stream due to the impact of waste inflow from the Všemina Horse Ranch. A total of six sampling sites were identified and located along the length of the stream so that the first location was above the ranch and the last was below the Všemina reservoir. Sampling was conducted four times over a thirteen-month period during the growing season. During the sampling events, pH, dissolved oxygen concentration, conductivity, water temperature, and, for the reservoir, water transparency was determined on site. The samples were immediately taken for evaluation to the laboratory of the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology at Mendel University in Brno. Physico-chemical parameters such as total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, total phosphorus, orthophosphates, total iron, chemical oxygen demand by dichromate, biochemical oxygen demand-five-day, acid neutralization capacity, calcium and chloride were selected for subsequent analysis. The objective was to determine if the ranch has an effect on water quality in the stream or the Všemina Reservoir. The resulting values from the laboratory analysis were evaluated according to the standard CSN 75 7221 used to classify the quality of surface waters as well as according to Government Regulation 401/2015, whether the quality of the water meets the requirements for general water use, for salmon and carp waters. Furthermore, it was compared with similar research works on the given topic of the influence of horse breeding on water quality.
Posouzení aktuálního stavu kalamitních holin na revíru Buková a potřeb melioračních opatření (lesní správa Černá Hora)
Šmíd, Petr
The topic of the thesis is the water regime in the forest environment at a specific location (Buková district) in connection with the ongoing bark beetle calamity and the associated extensive deforestation of the landscape. After a general introduction to the issue of water in the landscape, the thesis smoothly transitions into a detailed description of the area of interest, i.e. the Buková district, and a more detailed description of the associated forest groups. It captures the period before the bark beetle calamity and compares it with the current period. In addition to the water regime, it also compares the economic situation - the lost profits due to the bark beetle calamity. The paper also evaluates the current land reclamation measures and forest restoration methods using simple methods.

Gender-sensitive analysis of the novel Praskliny
Halíř, Pavel ; Jiroutová Kynčlová, Tereza (advisor) ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (referee)
The thesis entitled Gender Sensitive Analysis of the novel Praskliny looks into the representation of symbolic and discursive violence in a selected literary text by a Czech author from the perspective of gender analysis. Klára Vlasáková's novel Praskliny (Cracks) is set in a fantasy world with despotic elements, where individual heroes and heroines deal with the fundamental contradiction caused by internalized social norms with the way the protagonists themselves experience them. The analysis of the work is carried out in the context of feminist literary theories, whose main methodological and theoretical themes are the concept of a woman as nature by Sherry B. Ortner, symbolic violence by Pierre Bourdieu, and the concept of the connection between water and a woman by Z. Kalnická.
Developing biomolecular interactions models for molecular simulations: Critical evaluation of force field parametrizations
Tempra, Carmelo ; Jungwirth, Pavel (advisor) ; Vácha, Robert (referee) ; Vega de las Heras, Carlos (referee)
Force field molecular dynamics methods are nowadays commonly used to study molecular interactions in many scientific fields. The accuracy of force fields has been improving over the years, allowing for a meaningful physical description of molecular phenomena. However, force fields have limitations. In this dissertation, I explored some of these limitations resulting from the parametrization strategy of force fields and the extent to which non-classical behavior, such as nuclear quantum effects, can be incorporated into classical force field molecular dynamics. In the first part, I investigated to what extent nuclear quantum effects can be accounted for within a classical force field for water. This allowed us to model the differences between bulk light vs. heavy water. The developed model was then used to describe solvent isotope effects on biomolecules, such as amino acids, proteins, and biomembranes, and to seek an explanation why heavy water (unlike light water) tastes sweet. In the second part, I pointed out the drawbacks of using certain training datasets in comparison to others when optimizing a force field, using aqueous calcium chloride as an example. In the third part, I demonstrated the importance of using an accurate water model during the optimization of force fields for phospholipids to adequately capture...
