Care for Military Veterans in the Czech republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the care for wounded war veterans in the Czech Republic. The first chapter defines the term "war veteran" and specify who and under what legal circumstances becomes a war veteran. Furthermore, the basic division of war veterans, their numbers and their needs are described. The second chapter describes the current system of care for war veterans. It lists the laws and most important documents of the Ministry of Defence that is responsible with care for war veterans. The third chapter describes the existing system of care for war veterans. The third chapter further describes the activities of the Department for War Veterans of the Ministry of Defense as a managing element of care for war veterans. The fourth chapter is devoted to non-departmental organizations that deal with the care for war veterans. The third and fourth chapters are essential for the basic orientation in the current care that is provided to all war veterans. The fifth chapter deals with the current situation of the care for injured war veterans and takes into account departmental and non-departmental inputs into this issue. The goal of the last chapter is to evaluate the current situation. Finally, the findings and suggestions for improving the current state of care for injured war veterans are described.
Motivation of NGO staff involved in the care of modern war veterans

The Master's thesis deals with the motivations of employees of non-governmental non- profit organizations that take care of modern war veterans. The various insights into the motivations that NGO employees could have form the theoretical basis of the thesis. The work clarifies the area of interest of war veterans, who are seen as a social problem, and describes the organizations of the civil sector in the Czech Republic, which deal with veteran issues and describes a non-profit sector as well. The empirical section analyzes in-depth interviews with employees of a non-profit organization that provides assistance to war veterans, and finally, the research questions on the topic of employee motivation and motivational tools of veteran NGOs are answered. Dimitrij Lupej - A Life Story of the 2nd World War Veteran

Cílem této diplomové práce je zpracovat do podoby biografické studie životní osudy autorčina dědy Dimitrije Lupeje (roč. 1917), rodáka z Podkarpatské Rusi, který prošel nechvalně proslulými pracovními tábory Gulagu a následně se připojil k čs. jednotkám generála L. Svobody. S jeho armádou bojoval u Kyjeva, na Dukle, kde byl zraněn a posléze došel až do Prahy. Po válce zůstal v československé armádě až do svého odchodu do penze v roce 1972. Ve své diplomové práci by se autorka chtěla především zaměřit na tři okruhy dědova života - gulag, východní fronta a poválečná armáda. Získaný materiál, doprovázen vzpomínkami jeho vrstevníků - též válečných veteránů, by měl být doplněn a konfrontován o poznatky z archívních zdrojů a příslušné odborné literatury. Autorka práce využije při analýze životního příběhu svého předka metodu orální historie a zároveň se pokusí začlenit celý příběh do kontextu obecných dějin, přičemž nabídne ucelený pohled na osud jednotlivce, jenž byl ovlivněn převratnými historickými událostmi tehdejší Evropy. Respecting the human rights in the war

There is a big importancy beloning to the human rights topic. Therefore this this thesis aims to describe the problemacy of human rights focusing on war conflicts. The work is devided into two parts - theoretical and practial. In the theoretical part of the work will be introduced basic notions and the history of war conflicts related to the evolution of the understanding and respect for human rights. Practical part of the work focuses on the conversations with war veterans about respect for human rights in war conflicts. These veterans participated directly in some of the war conflicts. The aim of this part of the work was to find out, if these veterans encountered any human rights violence in the war conflict. As a research method was used a quality conversation directly with the war veterans. We can see the results directly in the concrete interviews, which will be further evaluated in the discussion part.
