School of Art Brno
Králík, Ondřej ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
This work contains technical drawings, architecture proposal and architecture detail of the Art school in Brno. Proposal was taken from my 3rd semester studio work and it was necessary to do some modifications during this work. Final building design is too large, so the main technical drawings were made only for one part. Whole building is solved only in the term of architecture proposal and drawings of situation, basement floorplan and elevations. The new building of the art school in Brno is located in the north-east hillside of Kraví hora near the center of Brno. Shape of the building is based on the idea that park will continue across the whole plot and the school becomes part of it. Main idea of proposal is leaving as much space as possible to surrounding green areas. By placing big part of volume under the ground, school becomes more connected to the park around and it enables students and all the other people to spend some time. Proposal is placed in the plot near to the planetarium to create education complex in the middle of emerging big park area on Kraví hora. Lots of areas such as multifunctional halls, snack bar or exhibition space are placed into one-storey block volume with generous construction height. This block is whole under the ground in the one side and the rest of it is gradually coming up on the terrain. There are 3 other organic shaped objects rising up from this volume. Roof of the main part can be entered from each side, so that park actually continues across this surface without any barriers. Skylights providing light to the bottom hall are also suitable for sitting, so they can be used as benches.
Civil protection as a textbook for students with special needs.
VELC, Radovan
Civil protection is a current topic in today's world. Nearly every person in our society meets an emergency during their lives and therefore it is important for every person to be aware of at least the basics of this issue, to know the situations which can come and the ways how to solve the issue. Civil protection in the Czech Republic has developed and it has reached its current form in which the emergency is based on the Integrated Rescue System. The important thing is that at the very beginning of the emergency there is an ordinary citizen who is at the place of formation of emergency and he or she has to dial emergency telephone number and then try to minimize its negative effects until the Integrated Rescue System comes. Therefore it is important for people to gain knowledge which can be used during emergency. The knowledge should be gained either at primary or secondary school. Nowadays civil protection is a part of curricula in primary and secondary education. However, there are curricula for ordinary pupils and for pupils with special educational needs. Current trends in special education along with current legislation are trying to integrate pupils with special educational needs into ordinary classes. It means that a pupil who was diagnosed as a pupil with learning disability, has difficulties with learning at primary school and is used to the attitude and support of special education, will be in a class with students without disabilities and will be supposed to do well at school. If it will be so, the pupils will need special study texts in many subjects. Therefore the issue of integration, its influence on the quality of education and potential impact on global integration of pupils with special educational needs into regular education are stated in the thesis. The aim of this thesis was to compile a study text with the topic of civil protection for pupils with special educational needs. The study text should be adequate to their abilities. Another reason for compiling the text was the fact that in Secondary education protection of civilians used to be a part of civics but, as the Framework educational programme for Secondary education has been changed, protection of civilians is now often taught in physical education. In Primary education protection of civilians can be taught as a cross cutting issue nearly in every subject. Physical education teachers and teachers of pupils with special educational needs do not have any books which would be specially created for this group of pupils. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a part with a research question and a methodology of a research. The theoretical part is aimed at the history of civil protection in the Czech Republic with its development to its current form, the current situation in education and the current trends in relation to education of pupils with special educational needs and including civil protection lessons into the Framework educational programme for the given group of pupils. In the works devoted to the research question and research methodology, was compiled research question whether pupils with special educational needs adequately trained in the area of civil protection. Due to the nature of thesis it was necessary to determine the state of awareness of students on the issue of civil protection, were established hypothesis, first - whether the pupils' awareness of the issue reaches the 80 % correct answers, second - whether pupils' knowledge in the area depend on the study year. A questionnaire for verification or refutation of the hypothesis was compiled and 104 pupils with special educational needs aged 15 to 18 filled it. The results of the survey show the lack of knowledge of the surveyed group. Both hypothesis appeared as alternative. The findings of the survey were important for creating an educational material within this thesis.

MIKEŠOVÁ, Lenka
In the bachelor thesis "A special educational teacher and his/her position in the educational system of the Czech republic" were elected headmasters of elementary schools in the region around Prachatice as a target group for the research. The theoretical part deals with legislative issues and qualifying conditions required for executing this occupation. This chapter also describes personal qualities and necessary skills of a special education teacher, then his/her further specialization. A very important part of this chapter is dedicated to a person of a special education teacher at a primary school and his/her career system. The second chapter of the theoretical part individually describes the educational system in the Czech Republic with a focus on basic education. Then this part discusses alternative education forms at primary schools, education of pupils with SEN and inclusive, interactive education. The empirical part of the thesis is based on a research which was designed as the qualitative research. This research survey was conducted as a semi-structured interview with directors at primary schools around Prachatice. The interview was conducted with 9 of a total of 15 directors asked to participate in the research. Before the interview was conducted, the basic questions were set. Then the question were subsequently asked to all surveyed respondents and then they were asked some additional questions. The aim of the thesis was to find out how headmasters of elementary schools around Prachatice perceive the possible application of a special education teacher in their schools. Then, two research questions were formed: In what conditions would the headmasters of chosen schools think about hiring a special education teacher in their schools? What activities should the special education teacher perform by an opinion of the headmasters? After analyzing respondent´s answers, the financial reasons appeared to be the most important when deciding about hiring, or not, a special educational teacher. All surveyed agreed that in their financial budgets there are currently no resources for implementing a position of the special education teacher. An increasing numbers of pupils with SEN would also have a significant influence on establishing this position. Then the respondents in their answers mentioned that the school education teacher might be an appropriate solution for dealing with administrative issues connected with the new system of inclusive education what they understand to be a good reason for establishing the position of a special education teacher at their schools. The aim of the second research question was to find what particular activities the teachers should perform. Based on the analysis of the answers received it appeared that the surveyed headmasters had a less insight into this issue. The survey among respondents brings the conclusion that the special education teacher should communicate with parents of pupils with SEN, create an IEP, SEP, then communicate with the school advisory department and he/she should do the administrative connected to the inclusive education. This bachelor thesis shall bring the comprehensive view of the person of a special education teacher on chosen schools around Prachatice. The work could also bring a closer overview of a character of the special education teacher on chosen elementary schools around Prachatice. It should also bring closer the problematics of the system of special education in the Czech Republic, not even to students of the special education but also to parents of pupils with SEN. Then the thesis shall provide information about the special education teacher for headmasters of elementary schools
Role of reward and punishment in the upbringing and education of pre-school child with special educational needs
TUČKOVÁ, Olga
This Bachelor´s thesis deals with the problematics of rewards and punishments in educational process in nursery schools for children with special educational needs. The theoretical part focuses on rasining children, various ways of raising, on education, teaching, personal qualities of teachers and their competences. The following two chapters deal with the rewards, punishments and the risks associated with them. The next chapter concentrates on preschool children´s development and preschool education as well as the characteristics of nursery schools. Last chapter focuses on children with special educational needs, special needs education and special education consulting. The practical part deals especially with the research results which were gained through the qualitative research, an in-depth interview consisting of eight questions. The questions were answered by six respondents, the pedagogical workers in nursery schools for children with special educational needs in České Budějovice. The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to find out which rewards and punishments are used in the educational process in nursery schools for children with special educational needs, what are their effects, how often they are used and the reasons why they are used. The research shows that almost the only and the most used reward is a praise and the most used punishments are mainly an oral rebuke or the restriction of some activities for a certain period of time until the child realizes their bad behaviour. Children are pleased and are positively motivated when they are praised but soon they forget about it. Rebukes are also not effective from the same reason. However, these are common educational ways used by everybody pedagogical worker all the time. Application of other educational ways of rewards and punishments are very limited in nursery schools and another problem might also be the way of raising the child in the family itself. The children are mostly used to a completely different approach to their behaviour in their family than in the nursery school. The pedagogical workers use the mentioned rewards and punishments in the nursery school daily and most of the teachers regard them as essential. This Bachelor´s thesis might be benefitial for the pedagogical workers who raise and educate children in the nursery schools for children with special educational needs and for students who deal with these issues.

Principle of subsidiarity and participation in the conception of young people
JURÁŠ, František
This bachelor thesis addresses the opinion of young people on enforcing of participation and subsidiarity principles in the Czech Republic. The task of this bachelor thesis is to determine, whether young people act according to the subsidiarity principle, how do young people perceive the participation principle and whether they actively participate on social life. The theoretical part focuses firstly on defining social politics. Secondly it defines the principles of participation and subsidiarity, which are an inherent part of a democratic society, and clarifies their social significance. Another chapter is the history of these two principles. Both of them date back all the way to the ancient times. With the change of political thinking, the perception of these principles was also changing. The most important era in the Czech Republic recently is the period before and after the year 1989. In the next part this thesis focuses on the state's policy, which strongly influences the possibilities of enforcing participation and subsidiarity principles. The main task of the state is to create such conditions, so that both principles could be enforced by the state's citizens. This thesis focuses furthermore on the non-profit sphere and the task of nongovernmental non-profit organizations, especially on the most common form of nongovernmental non-profit organizations, registered association. Non-profit organizations are often run on a voluntary basis with people working or helping without remuneration. Next, the activities of the Government Council for Nongovernmental Non-Profit Organisations are explained. There is also mentioned the importance of education for young people, especially concerning education related to their professional life. The practical part of this bachelor thesis describes how people relate to the principle of subsidiarity and participation. As a method to obtain the required data, a written questionnaire was used. Overall, 179 respondents participated on the survey. The main goal of this thesis was to find out how young people perceive the principle of participation and the principle of subsidiarity. The partial goal was to find out the significance of a young person's value orientation and conception of subsidiary help. The survey implies that in terms of subsidiary help young people rely more on the state's measures, than on their own abilities. The relation to participation is almost balanced, half of the respondents has a positive relation to participation, the other half a negative one. Young people have the best relation to participation in education for professional life. Hereafter, 2 hypotheses were determined: the first hypothesis was formulated that according to the subsidiarity principle young people prefer state's assistance over resolving their social problems by themselves. The second hypothesis stated that with higher level of education reached, awareness and activity in terms of social participation among young people are increasing. Both these hypotheses were statistically confirmed. From the data collected I conclude that young people are rather passive in relation to participation and subsidiarity principles. They prefer state's assistance over resolving their social problems by themselves. In terms of participation, young people participate mostly in education, which is probably due to their age and hobbies. This thesis can contribute to better understanding of young people's attitudes towards the principle of participation and the principle of subsidiarity. It can possibly serve as an indicator of attitudes towards individual social measures and individual types of participation. For nongovernmental non-profit organizations this bachelor thesis will serve as a source of information about young people's attitude towards activities of nongovernmental non-profit organizations. For educational institutions it can provide better understanding of young people's values related to education.
