Utilisation of already deposited energy by-products in cement production

This bachelor thesis focuses at study of deposited high-temperatured fly ash and its utilization in production of cement. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with the production and division of cements. The individual advantages and disadvantages of high-temperature and fluid fly ash when added to cements are addressed. The theoretical knowledge was used to design subsequent experiments. The conclusion of the theoretical part of the work deals with pozzolans. The main content of the experimental part was the analysis of raw materials and subsequent analysis of the mechanical properties of the prepared mixtures. The experiments were designed in accordance with valid standards.
Solubility of power plant fly ashes in high-alkali environment

This work deals with study of alkali activated ashes from high-temperature and fluidized bed coal combustion in thirteen powerplants in Czech republic. A solution of 50% sodium hydroxide was used as an alkali activator in this case. Because the two main elements of these secondary raw materials are silica and aluminum, the main part of the work is study of their evolution to solution and dissolve time dependence. The second part is comparing of the phase composition of powerplant ashes before alkali activation and after that.
The influence of storage conditions on the quality of fly ashes

This thesis deals with the issue of influence of storage conditions on the quality of conventional fly ashes which are produced by combustion of lignite. These ashes were stockpiled for long time. A borehole for sampling was made in the fly ash stock-pile. Total depth of the borehole was 20 m. Samples of fly ashes taken from every single meter were analyzed and next mechanical properties and the volume stability of materials containing these fly ashes were tested. The quality of fly ashes especially with respect to the possibility to use them as components of pastes, mortars and concretes as pozzolanic admixture or fine filler was evaluated.

Possibilities of classical fly ash utilization after denitrification of flue gas

This doctoral thesis, "Possibilities of using conventional fly ash after flue gas denitrification", deals with the solution and processing of data on the issue of ammonia / contaminated fly ash after selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) technology in coal-fired power plants. Also this thesis is focused on experimental verification of the effect of ammonium salts on the properties of fly ash and the effect on the working environment. Basic data on the issue of ammonia ash were collected. Specifically, these are several main areas of research. The binding of ammonia in fly ash produced after SNCR is described, the problem of determination of ammonium ions in fly ash, mortars and concretes is solved. Furthermore, the effects of the use of ammonia fly ash on the properties of concrete are experimentally verified, and the work also deals with the leachability of ammonia fly ash
