Štěrbová, Zuzana ; Varella Valentova, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Klapilová, Kateřina (referee)
The main aim of this study is to contribute to understanding of family influence on mate choice and satisfaction in long-term relationship. Studies suggest that family has significant influence on mate choice. According to the theory of sexual imprinting, individual create an image of the opposite sex parent during early childhood, which is in adulthood used as a template for partner choice (Bereczkei et al., 2002). However, in accordance with phenotype matching theory, the preference for similar traits like parents have, could be preferences for self-similarity, because they share with parents a half of genom. So it could means, that they prefer self-similar traits more than parent-similar traits (Rushton, 1989). Fourty nine couples participated in our research and also partner and parents of our respondents filled a set of standardized questionnaires. In the second study women evaluated male somatotypes and completed a questionnaire on the relationship with their father during childhood. The study showed many interesting results. Studyies aimed on sexual imprinting have focused only on the influence of the opposite sex parent (Wiszewska et al., 2007), however, we found that the parent of same sex influences partner choice of their offspring too. These findings support more the phenotypic matching...
The consumption of tobacco products by adolescents in the Czech Republic in 2016
Voráčková, Tereza ; Barák, Vladimír (advisor) ; Sunega, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on mapping the current state of adolescent tobacco users. The thesis verifies the influence of parents, peers and other factors on the disposition to smoke. The theoretical part deals with the price formation of tobacco products, describes tobacco industry and compares the prevalence of smoking in selected European countries. This part also evaluates each of determinants of influence on the youth and recommends timely, systematic and long-term prevention of addiction in partnership with families and schools. The research in the practical part confirmed that adolescents, who have more smokers in their background, are more likely to become smokers and would rather associate with smoking friends. The research also found out that schools have created standard mechanisms of addiction prevention, but they are not efficient enough, clearly shown by the adolescent smoking prevalence.
Significance, Influence and Signs of Consumerism Among Czech Children and Adolescents
JOCHMANNOVÁ, Lucie
My master's thesis deals with the issue of consumerism and consumer behaviour focusing on children and youth. The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes development of consumer behaviour and factors influencing it, such as social groups or advertising. It also deals with children's perception of brands and their impact on children's consumer behaviour. It describes the significance of consumer education in the context of the education system in the Czech Republic. It also deals with the consumer education systems and possibilities in the broader context of the European Union and other organizations. The practical part contains a lesson plan on consumer education and a pilot case study on consumer behaviour of a selected group of Czech children. The pilot case study asked two research questions: What do brands mean for the children? Do the children show signs of consumerism through their preferences and consumer behaviour? The results of the pilot case study are described in this section as well.
