Valve train of modern internal combustion engines
Pohořelský, Petr ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
In my bachelor's thesis I was concentrated on a principle of an activity, which is related to timing mechanisms of modern combustion engines, with a focus on variable valve timing. The thesis is conceived as a research of available electronic resources, professional literature and articles from professional periodicals. In the thesis there are introduced the principle, description of the activity and a brief history of combustion engines. The main part is focused on a specification, which is related to variable valve timing, and a summary of systems, which are used in today´s modern vehicles. The conclusion contains a critical evaluation, in which there are written advantages and disadvantages of this problem.
Passenger Vehicles Drive Unit Recent Development
Sedlář, Martin ; Svída, David (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is an overview of modern drive units trends. The first part of this thesis demonstrates combusting engines sorting; the next main part is an overview of a few drive units which are characteristic for their categories. There is a comparison of two lower power class engine representatives and two higher power class representatives in final chapter. The conclusion summarizes described topic and expresses own opinion.
Design of a 1D engine simulation model to increase engine efficiency
Pohludková, Lenka ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on the optimization and increasing the efficiency of an engine of passenger car engine using a 1D simulation model in the GT/Suite software. The thesis builds upon literature research of current methods for improving combustion engine efficiency and based on this research, a simulation
