Substance abuse among people with hearing impairment and their barriers to accessing substance abuse treatment

The theme of study was the influence of hearing impairment on human development and his status in society in context of risk situation for substance abuse development. Theoretical part is aimed on psychosocial development of hearing impaired people and social situations, which can have an influence on mental health of deaf and hard of hearing people. The aim of practical part is mainly to describe the presence of substance use among the target group, frequency, prevalence, initiation and abuse of substances with choosen screening methods and diagnostic tools, subjective perception of substance use around the respondent, presence of discrimination or bullying, staying in residential schools and other situation of capital importance which could relate to substance abuse. Used tool of data collecting was a questionnaire in paper and electronical form. To better understanding there were made a videos in sign language. Questionnaires was spread in public school in Prague and in club named Česká unie neslyšících (Czech Union of Deaf), through the social networks, organisation and webs which are focused on hearing impairment, by the snowball method. Volunteering at school

This thesis deals with volunteering at school and aims to inspire and motivate school (teachers) to involve students in volunteer activities. Volunteering is an activity which a person performs without remuneration and this activity fills and satisfies it. The first chapter is focused on high school students. It describes the development period of adolescence from the view of perspective of developmental psychology and evolutionary theories of Freud and Erikson. It also discusses students free time and studies at secondary school. The second part is about volunteering. It introduces the concept of volunteering and the motives for volunteering. It describes areas and forms of volunteer work, volunteering history, anchor of volunteering in the legislation of the Czech Republic. There are presented also organizations and projects in this part that use volunteers. Last and a central part of this thesis examines ways to engage high school students in volunteer activities. Why it makes sense to promote volunteer activities for students. It represents also the specific possibilities and ways to offer this activity and support. High school students are an important group of potential volunteers who are characterized by energy, ideas and enthusiasm. Voluntary work can be an important source of experience for them.
Qualitative research of working methods with fairy tales by Nursery school teachers

The main goal of the thesis was to identify and describe the methods that kindergarten teachers use when working with fairy tales, their strengths and weaknesses, the selection criteria of fairy tales. The theoretical part is focused on the major psychological theories related to the development of the child (Child Development - Vágnerová M. , Theory of cognitive development - J. Piaget, The structural model of personality and psychosexual development - S. Freud , psychoanalytic theory C.G. Jung ) . The methodological part explains methods used in the thesis: qualitative research, grounded theory and semistructured interview methods of coding. In the practical part, interview and subsequent analysis is done. The fundamental importance of the thesis lies in the revealing and descripting the most important methods that kindergarten teachers use during the work with fairy tales.
