First grade of state graduation reflection

The subject of this work is a reflection on the newly introduced state graduation and its results in the first year of its launch. The work aims to show the positive and negative impacts brought by the state graduation, particularly in relation to the claims put on the school management. The theoretical part focuses on introducing a new form of school-leaving examination and its proclaimed goals, then analyzing the results achieved by the pupils and also changes which authors of state graduation approached the experience with its first year. It is mainly based on published articles and analyzes of general pedagogical and professional media, from professional publications, the official website of The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS, MŠMT in Czech) and CERMAT (Centre on Measurement in Education). The practical part is focused on the result analysis of the questionnaire survey for directors of high schools and colleges that was supposed to map out how the new concept of graduation affected their work. The first year of state graduation produced significant differences in the results among the individual schools and a significant increase of the failure as compared to preceding years.
