Teacher's concept of his Role Expectations

Different expectations are placed towards teacher in his professional role. Pupils, their parents, superiors, colleagues, experts, representatives of the school system and society in general are those who place them. Teacher shapes his professional identity based on his personal beliefs and pedagogical ideals, influenced by practical experience, and also is largely influenced by professional relationships with these entities and their role-imposed expectations. His professional identity is largely intertwined with his personal identity, both demands and benefits of the profession are experienced by teacher also on a his personal level. His own conception of the role is largely in line with societal expectations, he feels to be representative of the societal ideals. His role is defined so broadly and universally, so it can be viewed relatively individually, but its conceptions may vary among different entities and it may become the cause of conflicts. Teacher develops educational relationship with pupils, but in the same time it depends very much on the understanding of the pupils in their own reality.
