Design of equipment to reduce emissions of solid pollutants
Barybina, Alina ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis consists of the theoretical and the practical part. In the theoretical part (chapters 1 and 2) the properties of PM, legislation in the Czech Republic, principles of separation of particles and different types of separation devices are described. In the practical part in the chapter 3, a design of a filtration system for separating PM from the flue gas from three biomass boilers was made.
40/5000 Fine particles produced by the stove
Škvařil, Ondřej ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis deals with problematics of fine particles produced during combustion in fireplace stoves. The theoretical part is focused on the analysis of the atmosphere, health consequences, solid pollutants, the formation of particles (origin), particle separation and how they are regulated by laws. Theoretical section of the thesis addresses analysis of biomass and its combustion. In the applied section are listed given methods of the particles measuring according to regulations, common errors during measurement and methods of identification of measured fine particles. Then follow specific measurements of the formed very fine particles produced by the SMPS method. Subsequently, the results of the measurement are evaluated and summarized in the conclusion.
Emissions of solid pollutants
Strnad, Ondřej ; Lisá, Hana (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The thesis deals with issue and properties of solid particles of anthropogenic origin. It describes the principles and technologies for removing them from the flue gas flow and avoid-ing leakage into the atmosphere. It focuses on types of separators, especially mechanical sepa-rators. The work includes an experimental part involving obtaining data characterizing the cyclone separator.
Agropellets for House Boilers
Čaňo, Lubomír ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the characteristics of the agropellets and with their combustion in the house combustion units. In the introduction of the first part is described what the agropellets are and how they are produced. It is followed by a characteristics of the agropellets as a fuel and by their comparison to the other solid fuels. The end of the first part is dedicated to a combustion itself and the creation of emissions during it’s combustion. The second part of the bachelor thesis is focused on a practical verification of the characteristics of the selected agropellets as a fuel. It also includes the experimentally measured values of emissions during their combustion.
Design of an impactor for fine particle separation
Rigby, Jakub ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis follows up fine particle separation issue with use of impaction method. The introduction is focused on main air pollutants. Closely the solid pollutants and their properties such as formation principle, legislation and human health impact are showed. Following parts describes methods of fine particle capture and closer is focused on impaction method. In the experimental part of this thesis main dimension calculation, construction and manufacturing process of virtual impactor is presented. Several construction and material types of virtual impactor has been fabricated. Finally, a separation efficiency measurement was made. This measurement confirms properties of PM2,5 and PM10 virtual impactor.
Verification of the use of agro pellets for heating
Muzikářová, Věra ; Musilová, Petra (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with agropellets and their combustion in terms of emissions and efficiency. It consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical, where the search of available types of biomass, production of agropellets and combustion principle is presented. The second part of the thesis is focused on experimental comparison of efficiency and emission class of boiler for various agropellets.
Design of a filter unit for waste gas cleaning
Volánka, Lukáš ; Wegschmied, Roman (referee) ; Jecha, David (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the design of the filtration unit and on particulate matter, or PM, which is still a significant contributor to air pollution. The first chapter describes the basic properties of these pollutants and their influence on the design of the separator. The next chapter briefly discusses the current legislation in the Czech Republic dealing with emission and air pollution limits. In the third chapter, which is also the last of the theoretical part of the thesis, the individual methods of removal of PMs are presented and explained. The practical part follows, mainly devoted to the design of the filtration unit for the given case, which ends with the measurement of emissions and a brief evaluation of the results.
Methods of Measuring of Particulate Matter Emissions
Bašta, Tomáš ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the methods applied for measuring the solid pollutants in the flue gases. It is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with the general problem of solid pollutants, methods of measurement and emission limits. The second part is devoted to the experimental measurements and determination of the mass concentration of solid pollutants in the flue gases of the combustion unit for solid fuels GEMOS 110. It shows the measurement procedure, necessary calculations and evaluations.
Electrostatic precipitator for household wood firing boiler
Preisler, Lukáš ; Skála, Zdeněk (referee) ; Brázdil, Marian (advisor)
This diploma thesis aims on the development of an experimental electrostatic precipitator for household wood firing boiler. First, a literature review was conducted, aiming on the description of the precipitator using physical relations and, on its basis, a numerical model was created. By applying the numerical model, the precipitator configuration was designed as well as the engineering design of the whole system. The chosen configuration was validated by measurement using the corona discharge starting at voltage of 6,5 kV. By applying modifications, the electrostatic precipitator was built and tested during a running boiler. Due to flue gas condensation and load, corona discharge did not initiate, and the parameters were not validated. Modifications in the construction design were suggested leading to launch the electrostatic precipitator. The main requirement is a surface finishing of wire hinging components.
The electric precipitator
Broďák, Kamil ; Patočka, Miroslav (referee) ; Huták, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis is focused on the issue of power separation. The first part describes the principle of power separation process. The second part deals mainly with mechanical parts and their function inside the electric precipitator. The third part focuses on the use of electrostatic precipitators and system management. The last section is devoted to design an electric precipitator according to the specified parameters. Due to the dominance of electric separators company ZVVZ-Enven Engineering, Milevsko from the Czech and Slovak Republics, the work focuses primarily on the products offered by their production program.
