Evaluation of selected biomechanical parameter's in triple jump
Sivila, Siddartha Humberto ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Hojka, Vladimír (referee)
Bachelor thesis title: Evaluation of selected biomechanical parameters in triple jump Prepared by: Siddartha Humberto Sivila Supervisor of the bachelor thesis: Doc. PhDr. Ales Kaplan, Ph.D., MBA. Aims of the thesis: The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to evaluate selected biomechanical parameters of medalists from the Czech Republic Triple Jump Championships in recent years. The thesis focused on analyzing the performances of Czech triple jumpers, approach velocities, lengths of individual jumps, and ground contact times. An additional objective was to examine the relationship between ground contact time and speed loss, in order to determine whether the statement holds true that shorter ground contact time results in lesser speed loss. Methodology: The research utilized a method of analysis and comparison based on data obtained from the website of the Czech Athletics Federation. Foreign scientific articles and Czech literature were used to enhance understanding. Comparisons were conducted between the indoor and outdoor seasons. Performance comparisons were made among individual jumpers occupying medal positions. Additionally, a comparison was made between the indoor and outdoor seasons. Results: To achieve medal positions in the indoor season, in recent years it was necessary to achieve...
Evaluation of body parameters and performance of women elite world hurdlers in the period 2003 - 2022
Dyrynková, Nikola ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Vostatková, Pavlína (referee)
Thema works: Evaluation of body parameters and performance of elite word-class female hurdlers in the period 2003 - 2022 Aims: The main objective of this study is to compare and evaluate the accumulated results of female finalists in the 100 m hurdles from 2003 to the present, covering a period of 20 years, followed by a comparison of performances in the Olympic Games and world Championships. A secondary objective is to record basic body parameters (height, body weight and Body Mass Index) of the finalists in individual global sporting events (Olympic Games and world Championships). Methodology: We focused on comparing and evaluating the accumulated data of female finalists in the 100m hurdles from 2003 to 2022 in the World Championships and Olympic Games. From each World Championship and Olympic Games, we selected the finalists of the 100 m hurdles (the fastest 8 athletes). We collected information on the WCH, OH, times, rankings, and anthropometric characteristics (height, body weight, and Body Mass Index). Furthermore, we processed the data based on basic statistical characteristics, particularly mean, standard deviations, minimum and maximum values of the performances. We compared all of this data among each other. In the supplementary section, we created tables that serve as source data, while...
Using heart rate variability as a tool in the training process and optimizing the effect of training load
Treglerová, Michaela ; Feher, Jan (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
This thesis focuses on heart rate variability (HRV) and how measuring, evaluating and working with data collected through the my Sasy mobile app can affect athlete performance. If training is modified according to the body's response to load, it can lead to more efficient performance gains, correct timing of more difficult training and control of overload or overtraining. If training is well planned and the principles of progressive loading during the macrocycle are followed, it is possible to obtain benefit by means of HRV, which reflects the state of the organism in relation to the autonomic nervous system (parasympathetic and sympathetic). If the individual is insufficiently compensated for the next load in the context of the training process, sympathetic activity will predominate and thus the following training unit would not have the desired effect (adaptive changes of the organism). This could lead to overload or overtraining in the long term. Title: Using heart rate variability as a tool in the training process and optimizing the effect of training load Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate the applicability of monitoring heart rate variability in training of athletes (combined athletes/ hurdlers/throwers). Furthermore, its influence on performance when adjusting the load...
Comparasion of technic in 100 m hurdles in selected athletes
Zárubová, Denisa ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Title: Comparasion of technique in 100 m hurdles in selected athletes Aims: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and evaluate the technique of the 4th hurdle clearance in the model run of 100 m hurdles within the training of technique in selected athletes of a certain level of performance and then make a comparison with the of the 5th hurdle clearance. Another goal is a subsequent comparison of the technique of the 4th hurdle clearance in both athletes. Methodology: To achieve the results of the bachelor's thesis, a model training of technique was organized within the athletic discipline of 100 m hurdles for two selected athletes within the training unit. From the front and side view were recorded videos of the 4th and 5th hurdles, kinograms were created by using Kinovea and subsequently edited in Zoner Photo Studio X. Kinograms were used to achieve the goals and answer the research questions of this work. Images were analysed in three phases of the hurdle clearance. A record sheet of frequently occurring mistakes from Slavíček (2020), literature and my experience with this discipline were used to describe the technique and to detect mistakes in hurdle clearance. Results: Thanks to the chosen methodology, I achieved the aims of this work and determined the mistakes that occurred in both...

Monitoring of the sports performance of the best czech hurdler P. Svoboda on 110 metres hurdles
Matějková, Petra ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Krátký, Petr (referee)
SUMMARY: Title: Monitoring of the sports performance of the best czech hurdler, P.Svoboda, on 110 metres hurdles. Made by: Petra Matějková Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Objectives: The goal of the paper has been an analysis of the sports performance between the years 2002 - 2010 and selected kinematics parameters of the hurdler Petr Svoboda. Methodology: Content analysis of the results of hurdle races between 2002-2010 was used in this work. The best result values and the arithmetic average of the 5 best results each year were compared. I also made the analysis of technical parameters of the hurdle overrun evaluating all the overrunning phases on the basis of watching. Then the measuring of selected kinematics parameters had been made which was later compared with the results of other European hurdlers. Conclusion: The results of the paper show that during the monitored period the sports performance decreased at first but then increased significantly. The analysis of the hurdle overrun style in the years 2009 and 2010 shows a certain improvement between the two years. The acquired data also testify to the good mastery of the hurdle overrun style of the monitored racer. Keywords: Hurdle race, Technique, Performance
