The diploma thesis consists of a textile image (200x160cm) and an object (80x20cm) created by the author's method of melting and sintering a polyester fabric. In the digital version of the presentation, it gives the possibility of a detailed display and thus lets the viewer's view penetrate into the very structure of the work.
Clothing in leisure time pedagogy

The presented bachelor´s thesis is focused on the use of textile and clothing production in pedagogy of leisure time. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with different approaches to the object and goals of pedagogy of leisure time proposed by various authors. Furthermore, characteristics of leisure time activities arepresented as well as a description of leisure activities while a special attention is drawn to adolescents as their participants. The theoretical part also analyses the use of textile and clothing production in the educational process. In this respectit refers to the actual situation and educational institutions which are engaged in the work with textile. Various ways of sensory perception of textile and roleswhich textile acquires in human life and society are mentioned at the end of the theoretical part. In the same part textile art techniques are also presented together with a description of patchwork and quilt from the point of view of their history, their aids and necessary material. The practical part is focused on the realization of didactic project, which took place within the school club in the Boarding house at OA, SOŠ, SOU in Třeboň. In the introduction some basic information about the boarding house, sewing club and its participants is presented. Based on the facts stated in the theoretical part of the thesis, three different methodical sheets were created and according to their structure the educational process of club´s meetings was organised. The methodical sheets are thematically focused on patchwork technique as an ornamental element of clothing accessories, but there is also an emphasis put onthe theme of a free quilt. At the end of the practical part own reflection is proposed and recommendations on further application of methodical sheets in practice.
Mountains of laundry

This bachelor thesis Mountains of Laundry aims to look into a three-way relationship among human, landscape and textile, their meanings and mutual influence. Individual chapters dedicated to the art of textile, to respecting traditions as a cultural heritage of the past and its persisting values for today's society, to the way a landscape influences human behaviour and to the actual art interpretation of Mountains of Laundry, they also attempt to depict my personal relationship to cloth. This thesis follows the phenomenon of the gradual return of a textile media into contemporary Czech art and through soft-material pieces of art of particular artists it seeks one specific denominator as well as various grasps of this field. Interviews with designer Tereza Rosalie Kladošová and artist Daniela Mikulášková reveal motivations of artists who work with textile media in applied arts as well as free arts, and they also refer to an issue of necessity to create borders between these two art forms. The way of grasping a tradition linked to a specific region or landscape refers to personal experience in the practical part. Clothing as a means for self-identification and self-representation and possible didactic applications of the theme in Art Education.

Anotation: Špidlová, Z.: Clothing as a means for self-identification and self-representation and possible didactic applications of the theme in art education. [Diploma thesis] Prague, 2013 - Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, Art education, 224 p. (Attachements: Diary and file documenting the art part of diploma thesis) This thesis examines the phenomenon of clothing, its semiotic function in the context of postmodern society and social aspects with emphasis on identification with a particular social group. The research brings knowledge about two groups, their clothing and social contexts. The groups are the costume culture of the Alto Minho in Portugal and the goth subculture. The results of the research are directly connected to the art part, the output of which is a clothing model combining elements of both of these groups. Didactic section presents findings on the diversity of interpretation of students from the seventh grade of basic school and the second year of middle school when dealing with the topic of identity and subculture applied on clothing.
