The concept of Revelation in Avery Dulles and Gerald O'Collins theology

The diploma thesis presents a selected part of the fundamental theology of two important fundamental theologians of the 20th century: Avery Dulles and Gerald O'Collins. The first part of the work introduces the overall context of thinking (life and work) of both theologians. The next part will focus on the analysis of specific theological studies, that deal with the concept of revelation, I will focus mainly on Dulles's books Revelation Theology: A History, Models of Revelation and primary O'Collins texts on the topic: Fundamental Theology, Rethinking Fundamental Theology, Revelation. I will try to describe the essential features of their understanding of the concept and models of revelation and compare the advantages and limits of both theological perspectives.
Principium et fundamentum of St. Ignatius (ES 23)

This diploma thesis deals with the development and analysis of the First Principle and Fundation (DC23) of St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises and the subsequent reflection of the great theologians of the second half of the twentieth century, such as Karl Rahner and Hans Urs von Balthasar. The work first traces the historical development of The Spiritual Exercises, how it originated, where it originated, for what purpose, what were the literary sources of The Spiritual Exercises, how the exercises reflected the spiritual experience of Ignatius of Loyola and last but not least follows various texts, copies and adaptations of the book The Spiritual Exercises. The next step is the analysis of the First Principle and Fundation its place as a whole, references to other parts of The Spiritual Exercises, sources, structure and function of the text in the context of The Spiritual Exercises. The last part of the thesis follows the theological interpretation of the First Principle and Fundation from the perspective of two great thinkers, Karel Rahner and Hans Urs von Balthasar. It focuses on their theological background and contribution to Ignatian spirituality. Mirroring of Motifs of F. Nietzsche's Critique of Christianity in D. Bonhoeffer's Prison Theology

The thesis "Mirroring of Motives of F. Nietzsche's Critique of Christianity in D. Bonhoeffer's Prison Theology" contemplates Bonhoeffer's thoughts on non-religious interpretation, that Bonhoeffer expands upon in his letters from prison, in the light of critique of Christianity that was expressed by Friedrich Nietzsche. Chapter I looks into the history of interpretation of Bonhoeffer's research and provides a brief overview of past and contemporary efforts to explain Bonhoeffer's approach to philosophy. Chapter II introduces basic principles and key topics of the critique of Christianity first in Nietzsche's work The Antichrist, followed by Bonhoeffer's Letters and Papers from Prison. Chapter III compares the most obvious motives in the thinking of Nietzsche and Bonhoeffer within the aforementioned scope. Selected themes in works of these two German thinkers overlap particularly in their philosophy of life, understanding of a man come of age, and their critiques of Christianity that is deflecting from this world towards the transcendent sphere of the world beyond (in German, it is expressed as a difference in the meaning of "Diesseits" and "Jenseits"). Unity of the Church: Particular Churches and the Universal Church in the Ecclesiology of Henri de Lubac Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to present part of the ecclesiological work of French theologian Henri de Lubac devoted to external structure of the Church. The thesis is based on reflections of de Lubac's book Les églises particulieres dans l'Église universelle, which is analysed in the overall context of his theological thought. Our goal is to define relations between particular churches and the universal Church and analyse theological principles of the institutional setting of the Church. The basic principle is found in theologically defined unity of the Church. Relations between the Church and culture, problem of acculturation and relations between principles of unity and plurality of the Church are among other topics of the paper. We came to the conclusion based on the analysis of the de Lubac's work, the Church is found on the theological principles even as a visible institution.
