Environmental design of the kindergarten building

This thesis deals with the design of a kindergarten building in the village of Dolní Lhota.It is designed as a two-storey building with a flat roof. It will be connected to the existing primary school building. The first floor will be used for kindergarten purposes, the second floor will be used for afternoon activities. The first floor will house a classroom, toilets for children, cloakroom, offices, cleaning facilities, storage, utility room, mechanical room. On the second floor there are two classrooms for afternoon activities, a cloakroom, office, storage and toilets. It consists of three parts. The first part deals with the design of the building structure. It contains the project documentation with all floor plans, sections, foundations, roof drawing, technical report, views. The structural system of the building is a wall system. The perimeter and internal load-bearing masonry is designed in ceramic blocks. The ceilings are made of spiroll panels. The second part contains the technical equipment of the building. Design of the air handling unit and distribution elements to the rooms. Calculation of rainwater utilisation. It also includes the design of the building heating, lighting and a drawing of the global scheme. Photovoltaic panels are proposed on the roof to cover the building's consumption. Heating is provided by groundwater In the third part I discuss the effect of zoning a building. I used the design of air handling units as an example. Given the use of a school building, where the first floor will run mostly in the morning and the second in the afternoon, I looked at which option is more economical
Energy assessment of buildings

The master’s thesis deals with energy assessment of buildings according to a current valid legislature. In the first part the energy assessments problems are solved. The next part solves the energy concept of the educational building, Pavilion P4, AdMaS centre of Faculty of Civil Engineering of BUT, in the form of project documentation. In the part of thesis there is a simulation characterizing dynamic behavior of building. The thesis point is the evaluation of energy balance and a draft of measures leading to the power consumption decrease.
Energy efficient building of kindergarte in Soběšice

The main goal of the master’s thesis is to design a new building of the nursery in Brno-Soběšice. It is one-storey building. This floor is divided to two same parts. In each of them is day room, sleeping room, office, bathroom, cloakroom for children, cloakroom for teachers with shower and toilet and stock for beds. Also there is director office, toilet, hallway, utility room, room for cleaners, sink and stocks. The vertical loadbearing structures are designed from Porotherm ceramic blocks and the hollow concrete blocks. The building is insulated by a contact thermal insulation system ETICS. The horizontal loadbearing structures and the staircase are designed from reinforced monolithic concrete slab. The roof is flat with extensive greenery. The whole construction are based on foundation passports. The building site contains also an outdoor car park with ten parking spot and garden with climbing frames. The project was performed in Autocad and visualization was performed in ArchiCad and Lumion. All constructions comply with valid standards and regulations. Master’s thesis is divided to three parts. In the first part A it deals with the construction design of a building for a building permission. It contains architectural-building solutions, building physics, situation drawing, reports, building design solutions and fire safety solutions. In the second part B it deals with the design of technical equipment of buildings. It includes the design of sewerage system, water, gas, photovoltaic panels, lighting, ventilation and heating. In the third part C it deals possible systems for the use of rainwater. I described possible systems for the use of rainwater and developed a rough calculation for the selected system.
Energy self sufficient house

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of energy self-sufficient houses. The search of requirements and technical applications usable in the design of energy self sufficient house is presented. There are some of the legislation relating to the issue too. Thesis includes also the examples of implemented projects in the Czech Republic and the design of modifications of the particular house for the possible energy self-sufficiency.
Multifunctional building Křivánek

The aim of the master project is to design a mixed- use building in Brno – Žebětín. The project has three parts: architectural design of the building, HVAC design and HVAC performance simulation of kindergarten. The building is in shape of letter L. It has three floors and flat green roof. The building site includes a car park and playground.The building includes a kindergarten and flats. The ground floor is separated into two parts. First part includes the kindergarten, while the second includes entrance hall and the technical facilities for the flats in second and third floor. Both parts have separate entries. The vertical load-bearing structures are designed from Porotherm ceramic blocks and the horizontal load-bearing structures from reinforced concrete slab. The HVAC includes gas condensing boilers as heat source and photovoltaics for electricity supply on the roof. The HVAC performance simulation of kindergarten is created in DesignBuilder software and includes analyses of internal environment.The project is elaborated in AutoCAD, Revit, Deksoft, BuildingDesign and DesignBuilder.
Ventilation of nearly Zero Energy Building

This diploma thesis is focused on nearly zero energy buildings, which are a mandatory part of construction of the buildings in Czech republic after 2020. It also deals with HVAC and its design as part of these buildings. The theoretical part deals with legal and technical regulations and possible savings in HVAC systems. The computational part is focused on two solution of HVAC systems in given object. The project part is about the given object, which is otevřená zahrada Brno. This building was founded by Nadace Partnerství s.r.o.. This third part of diploma thesis deals with the quality of indoor microclimate and evaluation of the heat recovery system effiency, which is applied in local HVAC unit.
Analysis of operating data from the student centre at the Faculty of Information Technologies

This diploma thesis is dedicated to the analysis of operating data from the Brewery, a former industrial building, which has been reconstructed to a student centre of the Faculty of Information Technologies. The main goal of the work was to analyze the performance of the building and to evaluate energy savings originating from the energy saving measures that were applied during the retrofit.. The first part of the thesis focuses on the particular energy saving measures and the predictions of energy savings. The second part presents the results of the monitoring of the building and the HVAC systems during the first year of the operation of the Brewery.
Library and leisure centre in Slavkov u Brna

The main goal of this Master’s thesis is the elaboration of project documentation for a library and leisure centre in Slavkov u Brna. The project is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on architectural and structural design. The building will have two floors and a flat roof. The leisure centre will be located on the first floor and the public library on the second floor. The load-bearing walls will be made of aerated concrete blocks. The floor and roof structures will be made of reinforced concrete. The facade will be designed as ventilated. The second part of the thesis is focused with the design of selected building services: HVAC, rainwater management, lighting and photovoltaics. The building will be mechanically ventilated. Space and domestic hot water heating will be provided by heat pumps (air / water). Rainwater will be collected and used for irrigation. Electricity consumption will be partly covered by a photovoltaic power plant from the flat roof. The third part of the thesis is focused on the evaluation of the building in terms of the multicriteria analysis method. For this evaluation the national methodology SBToolCZ is used.
Modern barn house in Silesia

The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to design a passive single-family house for four people. First part of the thesis presents the structural and architectural project documentation including building physics evaluation and the second parts proposes the solution of building services. The house is located on the flat plot by the forest on the suburbs of Havířov. This rectangular shaped house has one floor and an attic with the gable roof. On the ground floor is entrance hall, utility room, hall, toilet, bathroom, pantry, living room with the kitchen with the access onto the west facing deck. Upstairs is a cloakroom, two children's bedrooms, second bathroom, master's bedroom with walk-in-wardrobe and the home office. The glazed facades are oriented to the east and to the west. The total floor area of the house is 264 m2. The covered parking and tool-shed will be located on the northeast side of the house by the access to the property. The load-bearing walls are form sand-lime blocks with mineral insulation and wooden cladding, the partitions are from aerated concrete. Strip foundations, insulated by extruded polystyrene, are from reinforced cast-in-place concrete, floor slab is from prefabricated prestressed concrete panels. The metal roofing is on timber roof truss. Windows and entrance door are wood-aluminium with triple glazing. Floor heating, cooling and warming water in this house is provided by air/water heat pump. Ventilation is provided by ventilation unit with ducts in suspended ceilings and plate valves. On the south side in the metal roofing are integrated very thin photovoltaic panels. Storm water is collected in accumulation tank for later use. Summer overheating is reduced with external blinds. The house is connected to the water service pipe, sanitary sewer, electricity service cable and optical cable. The thesis also solves fire safety and building physics including daylighting, acoustics, and the energy certificate of the house.
