Analysis of technical exercises for the development of crawl swimming technique

Title: Analysis of Technical Drills for Developing Freestyle Swimming Technique Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the variety of technical drills for freestyle swimming used in selected clubs that participated in the 2023 Summer Czech Swimming Championships. Additionally, the goal was to create a comprehensive list of technical swimming drills for improving freestyle technique training, supplemented with visual material for better clarity. Methods: The research employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Data were collected through a survey distributed to swimming clubs in the Central Bohemian Region and Prague, which participated in the 2023 Summer Czech Swimming Championships. Technical drills were sourced from a review of professional literature. Subsequently, visual material was created. An analysis of the visual material was conducted using non-participant observation. Results: The research results indicate that coaches use technical drills to develop freestyle swimming technique. However, it is evident from the responses that coaches do not dedicate enough time or utilize a wide variety of technical drills during training.
