Etologické pozorovaní vybrané skupiny jehňat
Mrishchuk, Elizaveta
The topic of the bachelor thesis was ethological observation of a selected group of lambs. This bachelor's degree consists of two parts, namely a theoretical part and a practical or experimental part. The theoretical part contains individual information about the scientific field of ethology, its characteristics and meaning, as well as the origin of ethology, methods of observation and classification of animal behavior. Another part of the literature review is a description of the meaning of sheep breeding, the behavior of lambs, specific life manifestations. The experimental part consists of a description of the observed breed, also of my results of ethological observation and ethograms, and also includes an evaluation of the obtained results. The behavior of newborn lambs, lambs approximately 10 days old, and month-old animals was compared. In the end, I found out that newborn lambs spent more than half of their time resting, a quarter of the time moving behind their mother or standing. Animals 10 days old spent much less time resting than newborns, only 30%. In older animals, I observed new life manifestations: exploring the surroundings, caring for the exterior or drinking water. Month-old animals rested even less in percentage terms. The time spent pumping milk or exploring the surroundings also decreased. But on the other hand, grooming was increasing.
Porovnání metabolického profilu u ovcí v závislosti na plemenné příslušnosti a věku
MÍKOVÁ, Eliška
Comparison of blood metabolic profile at sheep was the aim of my Bachelor Work. The breed and age were influenting factors. Hematological, biochemical and mineral parameters were followed. I recieved and evaluated blood samples of 13 females, 1 male and 20 lambs during 2021 - 19th April, 3rd May, 29th June and 22nd October. Getting results were compared with figures from world literature. No significant differences in physiological parameters were found at lambs of Suffolk and Šumavka breed whereas some light differences were found in number of leucocytes, lymphocytes and granulocytes. The changes of metabolic profile depend on the age of animals. Higher values in haemoglobin were measured in the collection on 22 October, leucocytes and urea, and thus seasonal effects were evident.
Control of meat yield in lambs of crossbreeds of suffolk and texel breeds after mothers of zwartbles
JIŘÍKOVÁ, Anna
Evaluation of meat performance of hybrids of zwartbles-sugffolk and zwartbles-texel breeds in the first generation and verification of the effect of crossbreeding of meat breeds on slaughter weight and carcass composition.
Chov plemene suffolk v horských oblastech
KOŘÁN, Matěj
The aim of the diploma thesis was to determine the effect of altitude on reproductive and productive indicators of the breed Suffolk. Two farms were compared with different altitude from the year 2016 to 2020. In those years, reproductive indicators were analysed - average fertility, breeding, fertilisation, birth weight. The effect of different altitude was found in all of those indicators. When it comes to fertility indicators, the following were analysed - weight, the height of the subcutaneous fat and the muscle at 100 days, and the average daily growth. The highest statistically significant difference was found in 2019, specifically in the subcutaneous fat height at 100 days.
Vyhodnocení masné užitkovosti u vybraných plemen ovcí
MAZOUROVÁ, Nikola
In mountain and foothill areas, sheep farming is very suitable in the agricultural sector. Its popularity is still growing, and its enormous advantage is that sheep graze the land even in hard accessible areas and thus contribute to landscape maintenance. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is evaluation of meat efficiency of two selected meat breeds of sheep in a selected breeding. It is focused on Suffolk and Charollais breeds. To achieve this goal, a set of data obtained from yield control database SCHOK (Association of Sheep and Goat Breeders), based on which the meat efficiency was evaluated. Specifically, these were average daily gains, weight in 100 days, muscle height and fat in 100 days. Subsequently, the obtained data were compared to the literature and with data of the national average from KU (efficiency checks).
Vyhodnocení produkčních vlastností ovcí plemene suffolk a charollais v ekologickém chovu
VOSTŘÁKOVÁ, Veronika
The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate production characteristics of two breeds of sheep: Suffolk and Charollais. Data for evaluation of characteristics were received from the performance control in years 2016 - 2019. This data were afterwards compared with the nationwide results. This thesis focuses mainly on fertility, fertilization, rearing, number of sheep in reproduction, intensity, evaluation of growth capacity of lambs after birth, death rate of lambs and the difference in number of sheep with single lambs, twins, triplets and quadruplets. In 2016, the average fertilization of the Suffolk breed was 94.1%. In 2016, the percentage of fertilization in the Charollais breed was 97.2%. In comparison with the national results, the average fertilization on the Bočan Farm is higher, in the Suffolk breed by 4.9%. The average fertility per ewed sheep from 2016 - 2019 in the Suffolk breed was 147.4%. The average fertility of the Charollais breed was 159.3% during the observed period. The average intensity in the Suffolk breed was 142.5%. The lowest intensity was in 2016 - 129.4%. The highest intensity of the Charollais breed was reached in 2017 - 164.6%. Another value observed was the weight of lambs after birth and at the 100th day of age. The average weight of Suffolk breed ewes after birth was 2,87 Kg, for rams it was 3,04 Kg. The average weight in the Czech Republic, during the measured period, was 3,1 Kg. The lowest weight of ewes at the 100th day was 28,40 Kg in 2016. The average weight of rams was 30,49 Kg. The lowest weight of Charollais breed ewes after birth was reached in 2019 with value of 2,89 Kg. The highest weight of rams was reached in 2018 with value of 3,27 Kg. The average weight after birth in the Czech Republic is 3,3 Kg. Another parameter monitored was the death of lambs. The most dead lambs in the Suffolk breed were in 2019 - 12 pieces, in the Charollais breed there were the most dead lambs in the year - 2018 - 25 pieces.
The Rate the level of sheep breeding and its economic potential on family farm.
JINDRÁK, Miloslav
The task of my dissertation was to rate the level of sheep breeding and its economic potential. The monitoring and the evaluation of indicators were performed at the farm of Miloslav Jindrak. The collection of enter data proceeded from 2005 to 2008. The needed data was taken from the personal evidence of the sheep farmer. This data was compared with the data of the inspection of efficiency, which is run by the Federation of sheep and goat breeding in the Czech Republic. The dissertation monitors and evaluates reproductive, productive and economic indicators of the monitored sheep herd.

Využití plemene suffolk v malochovu
Blažek, Matěj
In this bachelor thesis I dealt with the influences that affect the growth and the car-cass value of suffolk lambs in small farms. From domestic and foreign citations, the most important influence is nutrition, but also age, gender, litter or breed. Rams have a better nutrient conversion than ewes, single-rats have better growth and carcass values compared to twins or moths, ewes have better and fatter meat than rams or castrates, meat breeds have the best daily gains and have the best carcass value. Part of this work is the proposal of material and methodology for monitoring growth and carcass values, which I designed for use in a small farm at Mr. Sysala's farm, where we weighed the suffolk lambs in February 2019. I will continue this weighing I will pre-sent in my thesis.
Problematics of meat sheep breeds
Picurová, Daniela ; Ptáček, Martin (advisor) ; Nohejlová, Lenka (referee)
Bachelor´s degree thesis has been elaborated as a literature review of accessible specialised sources. It dealt with a sum of recent findings concerning the breeding the meat-producing races of the sheep, which is rapidly developing after 1990. Introduction established the structure of sheep races bred in the Czech republic and their classification according to the production performance. The thesis is focused on meat-producing races of the sheep, the most important among them being characterised verbosely. Within the frame of the thesis topic, the performance features were defined. The main part of the thesis dealt with the meat production performance and breed reproduction, which affect the breeding economy. The aim of the thesis was to determine the major factors influencing reproduction and production properties of the breeding material. We have found out, according to specialised literature, that breed, sex, number of lambs per brood and the fattening manner produced the significant effects on the live weight of lambs. The body condition score of mothers had no significant effect in the time of gravidity. The results of the studies indicate that live weight of mothers, age of mothers and lambing season affect significantly the vitality of lambs and their growing disposition consequently the breed economy. Based on the available literature it seems to be an interesting issue early breed ewe lambs, a category that has not been adequately studied. It would therefore be potentially interesting to examine this issue further.
