This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the first and last mile in urban transport. It generally defines the issues of the first and last mile and provides an overview of available solutions. At the same time, it briefly looks at the future in the form of autonomous management. The individual solutions are described and subsequently related to the continent of Europe. The next step is to map and analyse the available options in the Statutory City of Brno. The result of this work is an evaluation of current available solutions and a proposal for further solving the problem of the first and last mile.

Czech Pacific Railway, railway or tourist atraction?

Rail transport around huge cities is a part of the suburban system transport. The railway line 210 passes through a popular tourist and recreational area Posázaví (around Sázava river). This line is known as Posázavský Pacifik ("Czech Pacific Railway"). This thesis examines suburban and tourist potential of this railway line. Suburban transport is related to getting citizens to work and schools. Another important source of informations about usage of the railway line is a number of occupancy of the lines. Based on another thesis and literature sources will be determined the basic characteristics of suburban and tourist importance of the railway. Also there is going to be an analysis of advantages of the connection based on factors which influence the usage of the railway that will be created. As a result there will be a complete characteristics of the importance of Czech Pacific Railway including an evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of this railway and possible opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis). The Future of the Masaryk Railway Station in Prague

The main objective of this thesis is to answer the question of the suitable future use of Masaryk Railway Station in Prague from many aspects. The theoretical part of thesis is dealing with the history of railways in Prague and the Station. Then it is explained the principle of the integrated transport systems and the inclusion of the railways as the spinal transport for suburban transport. In the analytical part, there is briefly introduced the cause of the Station future and then this question is evaluated by three disciplines. These are methods of city logistics, urban solutions and the significance of the Station from the cultural point of view.
Prague into Europe – as Munich?

Cílem článku je zejména poukázat na 'nemoci' Prahy, které mohou nastat v nových liberálních ekonomických a sociálních podmínkách, ukázat na zkušenostech z analogického města - Mnichova - některé možnosti zmírnění jejich průběhu. Dále zjistit důsledky 'nemocí' jimiž Praha prošla v minulých desítiletích a které se jasně projevují ve srovnání s Mnichovem. Cílem článku je dále zjistit reservy které Praha má a jak by jejich využití umožnilo předcházet větším obtížím - za takovou reservu považuje hlavně dosud extensívně využitý, ale zanedbaný suburbánní prostor pražské aglomerace. Rukopis článku byl v r. 1991 předán redakci časopisu Územní plánování a urbanismus, vydávaný TERPLAN Praha. Rukopis nebyl redakcí přijat s odůvodněním, "že již o Německu bylo publikováno dost". Z pohledu roku 2010 článek ukazuje, že v českém výzkumu výstavby a architektury bylo komplexní povědomí o problematice stavu českého osídlení, i po 40 letech isolace od světového dění.
