Jeřábková, Tereza ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee)
This study aims to identify and analyse the motivations and expectations of students who have decided to complete their full university studies in the UK. The thesis further examines the retrospective view of these students on their study abroad and their subjective perception of this experience. As part of the research, specific experiences that students had during their studies abroad and which had an impact on their personal development and life paths are investigated. Part of the study is also the identification of potential challenges and difficulties that students encountered in a foreign country and how these influences affected their motivation and determination to achieve their study goals. Last but not least, the work focuses on the assessment of student development at the personal and career level, thereby bringing insights into the benefits of this study format for the individual growth and professional perspectives of students.

Dana Rakovcová, 2022 Anglický název disertační práce: Migration strategies of international PhD students from less developed countries - a longitudinal study ABSTRACT Within the concept of transnationalism and global development, migration decisions of international students play a vital role. This research examines different factors influencing PhD students' migration plans and strategies, their development over time, and the circumstances of their potential or real return within the changing life course context of the highly educated migrants. The research is based on a longitudinal qualitative study conducted over five years (2012-2017) among 21 international PhD students coming from 16 different developing countries, studying at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands; and it draws mainly on in-depth interviews and follow-up correspondence. Results are discussed in the context of the life course, a cultural shift and the migration development nexus. Conclusions suggest that: 1) Strong feelings of responsibility towards both their family and the development of their country of origin are leading factors shaping the migration strategies of the examined PhD students. 2) Migration decisions of the interviewed PhD students with children tend to be strongly driven by responsibility towards their families...

This diploma thesis deals with an evaluation of students' mobility through ERASMUS+ at Charles University. In the introduction, I consider the research questions related to this phenomenon and I earmark some specific areas which I am interested in this topic. In the first research section I analyze the registration forms of the students who took part in the exchange stay at Charles University and evaluate the motivation that influences their decisions. Furthermore, I assess these motivations using statistical analysis. In the second research part was done a questionnaire survey among students arriving and departing Charles University for an exchange stay and I focus mainly on three areas. The first of them is the motivation and real benefits of mobility for the students who have chosen to take part. In the second part, I am concerned with the fact if these exchanges have a real added value for students in the field of convergence in Europe and their support for next integration. The last part analyzes the possible main problem of this project and that is its financial difficulty, which affects the student mobility strategy across all Europe.
