The impact of Ludmila Mojžíšová method on the activity of pelvic floor muscles visualized by sonography in female with stress urinary incontinence: a randomized intervention study
Oravová, Natalie ; Budská, Nikol (advisor) ; Mitrová, Klaudia (referee)
Introduction: Stress urinary incontinence is one of the most common health issues, especially among women, and remains a taboo topic even today. Physiotherapy has become the primary choice for treatment in this type of incontinence. This study examines the impact of Ludmila Mojžíšová method, as its author suggests the possibility of treating stress urinary incontinence in women using this approach, although no studies or research proving the effectiveness of the treatment are available in the literature. The main objective: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to observe the impact of therapy conducted according to Ludmila Mojžíšová method on the pelvic floor muscle activity measured by transabdominal ultrasound in women with stress urinary incontinence. The secondary objective is to determine whether the therapy according to this method has an impact on the quality of life assessed by the CONTILIFE questionnaire. Another objective is to evaluate the effect of this method on low back pain assessed by the visual analog scale (VAS), if simultaneously present in women suffering from stress urinary incontinence. Methods: The study sample consisted of 13 women. Inclusion criteria for the study were the presence of symptoms of stress urinary incontinence, age between 30 and 45 years, and BMI...
Comparison of rehabilitation approaches for female urinary incontinence at different departments in the CR
Bredlová, Jaroslava ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Title: Comparison of rehabilitation approaches for female urinary incontinence at different departments in the CR. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to determine the percentage of physiotherapists who have offices in their encounter with incontinent patients and percentage distinguish whether they are sent to a specialist or incontinence is known only by them. Determine which method of pelvic examination with stress incontinence (diagnosed and undiagnosed) is performed most often. Find out what the age group of women with stress incontinence with physiotherapists meet in their offices often. Determine which method of pelvic examination with stress incontinence (diagnosed and undiagnosed) is usually a percentage, carried out to determine how many of the respondents used physical therapists in the treatment of stress incontinence "Ostrava concept." Another objective of this work is expressed as a percentage of physiotherapists awareness about the new clinical standard for treatment of stress incontinence and technology PELVICORE. Inform the public about female stress urinary incontinence. Methods: The research was conducted using nonstandardized fifteen-page questionnaire. This e-mail questionnaire was distributed to 30 hospitals. We managed to get a total of 54 questionnaires were processed and...
An examination of pelvic floor activity folloving the application of special exercises
Ludvíková, Lucie ; Hošková, Blanka (advisor) ; Kodešová, Klára (referee)
Title: An examination of pelvic floor activity following the application of special exercises Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to validate the usefulness of carrying out local pelvic floor muscle examinations as an indication and education for therapy. A second objective is for the women involved in the research to subjectively evaluate the examination methods and therapy. Furthermore, the thesis aims to establish an example of a comprehensive and detailed local examination of the pelvic floor muscles. Methods: We measured the pelvic floor activity per vaginam using an EMG biofeedback device on clients with a pelvic floor dysfunction and grade I stress incontinence symptoms. Based on the results of the examination, therapy using the vaginal device was recommended and in six weeks a follow-up examination was carried out. The changes in pelvic floor activity were evaluated by comparing the initial and follow-up examinations. Thus the usefulness of carrying out an examination of the local pelvic floor muscles before indicating a therapy was validated. At the end of the examination an interview with participating clients was conducted in order to subjectively evaluate the method. Results: All of the women participating in the research had previously undergone a different method of pelvic floor...
Quality of life after urogynecologic surgery Comparation of change of quality of life after urogynecologic surgery in relation to anatomy of the pelvis foor
Drahorádová, Petra ; Mašata, Jaromír (advisor) ; Zachoval, Roman (referee) ; Naňka, Ondřej (referee)
Introduction: Stress urinary incontinence is a common problem which affects a high percentage of women. Anti-incontinent surgery has played an important role in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. Burch colposuspension was considered a gold standard in anti-incontinence surgery, with good long-term results. However, over the past decade this procedure has been largely replaced by the application of various types of TVTs (tensionfree vaginal tapes). In our study we have focused on comparing developments in the quality of life and the occurrence of complications in a long-term follow-up after TVT, TVT O and colposuspension. For subjective assessment of urinary incontinence we have chosen a validated specialized Incontinence Quality of Life questionnaire (I-QoL). The aim of our study was to monitor the trends with quality of life after TVT, TVT O and colposuspension procedures and to establish whether the occurrence of complications affects the quality of life (QoL) and compare of the quality of life among anti-incontinence procedures and longterm subjective and objective outcome. Methods: The study included 215 women who underwent a TVT, TVT O or Burch procedure between 1.6.2002 - 31.5.2005. Women were completely urogynecologic examined and urodynamic stress incontinence was documented....
