Sustainable urban neighbourhood design of a Czech city

The subject of the thesis is the design of a sustainable urban structure located in the city of Breclav. Directly situated in a place near the main city street, 1 May Avenue. This location, adjacent to the city centre, is suitable for the future construction of a compact urban structure, which has not been there so far. The thesis contains an urbanistic and architectural design of a new urban district that has functions suitable for a quality public space in an urbanised environment. The area under consideration contains a new urban compact structure that should provide a sustainable living environment for local residents. Watercourses are a prominent feature of the proposal and will complement the quality of the newly proposed public space in the urban quarter.
Street Names in the Central Bohemian Town Benešov

This thesis is focused on the names of streets and squares in the town of Benešov in Central Bohemia. Attention is also paid to the development and changes of these names in time, starting in the nineteenth century, ending with the present time. This range is further divided into shorter segments in which attention is paid to the ratio of the urbanonyms and their classification into the categories of orientational and honorific urbanonyms. The aim of this thesis is to provide insight into the urbanonymical system of the town, as well as give an overview of the changes of individual names.

14. Summary This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the names of streets and squares of Prague 6. In the first few chapters, the author describes the history of street naming in general from 1770 until 2013. Furthermore, the work addresses the main reasons for renaming streets in Prague 6, which are mostly based on historical and/or social events and changes in the scope of Prague territory. The central part of this thesis contains the current list of streets and squares of Prague 6 accompanied by information about particular name changes occuring during the 20th and 21st century. The total of 662 streets and squares is arranged in alphabetical order according to their affiliation to various parts of the Prague 6 municipality. Additionally, streets are classified by naming motivation into several categories, which further discuss the origin of the names and their lexical form. The results showed that the street names of Prague 6 are mostly in nominative or genitive form and the most common motivation for their naming follows from the street location. The research carried out by the means of questionnaires shows that the most popular unofficial name used in Prague 6 is "Kulaťák" (replacing the official name Vítězné náměstí). Besides, the questionnaire revealed a few dozens of other popular colloquial street names....

Title of the thesis: Districts and places of Paris in the course of history: Montmartre Keywords: streets, squares, history, cabaret, bohemian, film, point of interest Abstract: The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the Parisian district of Montmartre. In many aspects it is quite an exceptional quarter and totally different from other districts of Paris. Its characteristic features make it famous worldwide. Thus the chief aim of the work was to try to find out what is so specific about it, what makes its position in Paris so privileged and in what way it has contributed to the overall development of French culture. The work is conceived as a specific historical and cultural view of the district and strives at picking up its most characteristic features which brought it to the notice of the French themselves as well as members of other peoples around the world. What contributed to the latter to a great degree were its architectonic monuments, and, moreover, its cabarets and concert cafés. On top of that, it was also made famous through the works of many renowned artists.

Master's thesis is devoted to the topic of urban planning and the city of Rome. The aim of the thesis is to explore the ways of depicting urbanism in contemporary fine arts, forms and topics in which it is presented. Furthermore, the essential part of the work is the history of urbanism, the principles and deviations of urbanism and especially the Eternal City (Rome). As far as Rome is concerned, the author discusses her foundations, the growth of the city from the very beginning of the foundation, the influences of urbanism, the demonstration of the characteristics of the ancient "urbe" and how today's contemporary artists solve new ways of urbanization, or how and in what way they are inspired by Roman cities? An important element of the cities is not only the city planning itself, but also its Genius loci, the spirit of the place, the author separates and explores the cities of the day and the night cities and explores what are their differences in character. An important part of the thesis will be: How do today's children perceive cities, what do they mean to them? What do they think is important and what is the function of a city? Analýza vybrané lokality z hlediska maloobchodní sítě

Práce je podrobnou analýzou ulice Na Příkopě z hlediska složení maloobchodní sítě. Autorka se nejdříve zaměřuje na obecnou charakteristiku ulice Na Příkopě, porovnává cenu pronájmů komerčních prostorů, charakterizuje typického zákazníka a určuje cenovou polohu ulice. Dále se věnuje historii blízkého okolí. Autorka vytvořila stručný přehled a mapu všech poboček, které se na Příkopech nacházejí a podrobně se věnovala nejvíce zastoupenému oděvnímu odvětví. Zde vybrala sedm firem a provedla podrobnou analýzu jednotlivých poboček a navrhla řešení případných nedostatků. Práce se také zabývá nově postaveným luxusním nákupním centrem Palladium, které se nachází v těsné blízkosti, a jeho vlivem na ulici Na Příkopě.
