Monitoring rozšíření nekrózy jasanů (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) v lesních porostech Moravy a východních Čech
Prouza, Michal
Diploma thesis deals with ash dieback, caused by fungus pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus. This is a summary of the available knowledge in literature concerning the problematic of the disease. Research activities were focused on monitoring of this patogen spread in the area of Moravia and eastern Bohemia, with emphasis on forest-typological diversity of habitats and the percentage of ash in the stands. 434 stands of ash were evaluated and the rate of health condition damage of trees with H. fraxineus presence depending on various factors was investigated. Dependence of damage of health status was not determinated as a function of LVS of Plíva (1987) (forest vegetation altitude stage), edaphic category or ecological range of Plíva (1987) as well as age stage of ash, stocking, other tree species composition, location and year of evaluation. Vice versa factors of damage on nature of ashes sites (SLT according Plíva 1987), mixing type and forest regeneration type were significant.
Inventarizace a hodnocení ovocných stromů v katastru města Kroměříž
Posolda, Viktor
This thesis deals with the inventory and subsequent evaluation of commonly grown fruit trees, according to the methodology AOPK, which proved itself in practice. Further, the evaluation used a classic 9-point scale Fruit. It was selected 30 model trees. Selected trees were designed arboristické and fruit growing interventions. After a field survey methodology was created to evaluate habitat conditions and its subsequent application to selected trees. The results of this methodology were compared with the state of health of trees. Further, according to the results of the inventory identified species suitable and less suitable for urban environments.
The importance of enviromental conditions on plant-invertebrate herbivore interactions
Kuglerová, Marcela ; Münzbergová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Skuhrovec, Jiří (referee)
Plants and herbivores influence each other for more than million years. Most studies are focused on interspecific variability in herbivory intensity, but little i known about intraspecific variability and what controls it. Environmental conditions can determine intraspecific variation. Goal of this thesis is to examine importance of environmental conditions and interspecific variation for invertebrate herbivory preferences. Plant material that was used in experiments comes from several species from subfamily Carduoideae. Preferences of invertebrate herbivores are tested in food-choice experiments. Plastic arenas are made for these experiments, in which leaves are put in small tubes that are placed along the periphery. After herbivores are placed in to arena, arena is covered by net to ensure that herbivores can't escape. Plant material for experiments was grown in experimental garden and was also brought from field. Plants from garden differ in productivity of soil and water regime. In experiments with field material, plant leaves were collected from eight localities, four fields and four grasslands. Leaves were scanted before and after each experiment. Scans were processed and the amount of consumed leaf tissue was determined. For plant characteristics I measured plant functional traits, specific...
Habitat requirements and predictive distribution modelling of Huperzia selago
Trachtová, Pavla ; Wild, Jan (advisor) ; Douda, Jan (referee)
Studies of the occurrence of montane and boreomontane species in ravines of the sandstone landscape are scarce and the occurrence of these species are explained by the presence of temperature inversion. The question is, which factors limit the occurrence ofthese species in ravines with temperature inversion. The aim of this diploma thesis is to reveal factors that influence the occurrence of Huperzia selago in inverse ravines of sandstone landscape. This work uses a habitat variables recorded directly for populations of H. selago and variables derived from a digital elevation model. These derived variables are also used for creation of two predictive models of geographic distribution of H. selago in the National Park Bohemian Switzerland. When we summarize the most informative variables of predictive models and habitat conditions significantly different from control sites, we get the typical habitat of H. selago. Such sites will likely be found on the rock at the bottom of the valley. Factors that influence the suitability of habitat are: moisture, vegetation type, slope, and distance to the bottom of the valley.
Cascade gardens in public space
Vaculíková, Sylvie ; Vacek, Oldřich (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the issue of vertical gardens with a focus on the use of public space in the Czech Republic. It deals with the cultivation systems, cultivation conditions habitat requirements for the properties of plants and assortment of plants. The practical part includes the evaluation of the selected area in a public space and assessing existing conditions. Based on the results, drafted the vertical garden for the selected area.
Canopy effect on the Scotch pine regeneration in understory
Kostohryzová, Aneta ; Ulbrichová, Iva (advisor) ; Bílek, Lukáš (referee)
The Pinus sylvestris natural regeneration growth and site characteristics effect were evaluated in the area of VLS ČR, s. p. divize Mimoň-Doksy in september of 2015. The dendrometric parameters of seedlings as listed: the total height, the diameter, the last 5 years height increment, the crown diameter, the quality and vitality of plants and the branch angle) were measured at nine plots. Also microsite characteristics, such as: herbal layer composition, light conditions, litter horizons and distance to the nearest adult tree) were noted at these sites. The 416 seedlings were measured in total. The main site characteristic with significant effect on the mean increment was direct photosynthetical radiation (r = 0,47). Other significat factors were the total and the diffuse photosynthetical radiation, the canopy and the amount of small bushes in herbal layer. There can be also concluded that good light conditions have statistically significant effect on the quality of seedlings. Influence of other site characteristics was not statistically significant.
Evaluation of growth of beech plantations (Fagus sylvatica L.) in dependence on used reproduction material and site-ecological conditions.
Florián, Tomáš ; Remeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Bílek, Lukáš (referee)
Abstract On the Forest district Strašice, which is located at the Division Hořovice, Military Forests and Farms was founded in 2012 eight plots on 4 wooded clearings. Boots were afforested beech (Fagus sylvatica L.). Forestation was on these plots used simpleroot planting stock a indoorroot planting stock. Another criterion was the intensity of sunlight seedlings (permanent sunshine / shading; during the day changing insolation). The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the growth of seedlings depending on the planting stock and intensity of solar radiation. Subsequently, the proposed recommendations, which would be appropriate to deal with in practice. Seedlings were permanently marked with a unique letter and number. From 2012 until 2014 at the end of the growing season measured growth variables - root collar diameter, height of seedlings, height increment, quality features and mortality. Top maturing seedlings on an area where it was used in afforestation simpleroot planting stock material and irradiation area during the day alternating shading. Not permanently sunlit and shaded. On the contrary, indoorroot planting stock material is higher on permanently sunlit area than in permanently shaded. This result is identical to the results of other well-oriented work. The results and conclusions of this thesis is planted beech recommendations on areas where direct exposure varies during the day with the shading (light - shadow). However, it is not always possible and feasible, in terms of the internal structure of vegetation planted beech at said place. It is therefore possible to plant bare planting material surfaces with extreme lighting conditions (areas permanently sunlit or shaded). But what concerns simpleroot planting stock material it is advisable to observe the fact that much better grows in areas with favorable conditions (areas with alternating irradiation and shading). It is also necessary to comply with environmental requirements beech. Always determine the most appropriate place on the bare surface (Clearfelling) for the planting of beech. Use only high quality planting material conforming to CSN 482115. Professional supervision forester at cut the grass work quality and functionality over the fence, and thus mitigate damage by animals. Therefore seek the highest possible representation of planted trees (to comply with the statutory requirements for supportability) due to the selection of the best individuals in the education and creating the future quality and healthy growth.
